  1. If your grandson is having a birthday and is gold or Diamond member, you will not have to order him a cake, it will appear on his birthday. At least, it did for me. If he is not gold or Diamond, you will have to make other arrangements for the cake. EM
  2. If you go to the top of the page, on the left is See posts about: and Select ship. Click on Select ship and you will get a drop-down list of the MSC ships. Click on Seaside and it will give you a listing of recent threads about that ship. EM
  3. Welcome to Cruise Critic! As a brand new member, you probably haven't had time to explore this huge, sometimes confusing site. The first place you should visit is the Roll Call for your cruise. There is a little typo in it's title...it really isn't 226 days! A Roll Call is a thread started by someone on the cruise, and it is where you can connect with other CC members who will be sailing with you. You will find them arranging meetings and shared excursions. I suggest you start with the first page...there are only 6. You might find the answer to your visa question. Here is the link: Other places you might want to visit here are the Ports of Call boards, seeking out the areas that pertain to your ports. Do join in on the conversation on your Roll Call. There are also separate boards here for each cruise line. They are not links to the cruise line websites, but boards where cruisers share their experiences and ask questions about sailing that line. You might do some reading and asking on the MSC board. EM
  4. Are you on a 3,4 or 7 day cruise? There is always a white night/party. That’s about the only one people dress for. I have done the 3 & 4 nite cruises. First show is Peter Punk. Mind the dinosaur. Second night was a comedian. Third night show Moondance. Last night show is Starwalker, Michael Jackson tribute. For pool hours first pic is departure day, second day Nassau, third Ocean Cay, the last is the sea day.
  5. I did not have any problem calling when I wanted to adjust my cruise. I was booked on a 7 day and wanted to add the previous 3 day, it since it was also being sold as a 10 day, I wanted it done for the ten day rather than a 3/7 B2B. It took some manipulating to have my deposit transferred, but it worked out. Also, have you checked your profile? Maybe somehow your birth date got messed up. EM
  6. I did a Live from.. on my August 4/3 B2B. It’s probably about 20 pages back. EM
  7. There is a pinned topic on this page on how to change your username. EM
  8. Go to cruisedeckplans.com. Choose your cruise line. The main page for every line will have a thumbnail for each ship, including launch year. EM
  9. Every time we would visit a military museum that covered WWl, my father would say ‘I didn’t see any French 75s.’ Apparently that was a gun they had in ROTC in the 1920s. I think he was cavalry because he rode a horse. EM
  10. I used the browse Wi-Fi for my Live from. I don’t take videos, don’t watch movies, etc. so don’t need stream. EM
  11. She’s still in Europe, no experience here. EM
  12. I did it for my two short cruises in August, but it wasn’t an option when I checked in for my December cruise. But it seemed as if there was less to fill in, it was already filled it, so maybe they saved a picture. EM
  13. From perusing the deck plans on cruisedeckplans.com they appear to go from 8-18. EM
  14. I disagree…I think they do, up until about 0830. EM
  15. Relax, your cruise is nearly 2 years away. Things may change several times by then. Maybe even different restaurants…. EM
  16. You’re welcome. Feel free to borrow them. EM
  17. To access other bookings, you have to log out. To do this, click on profile from the menu bar at the bottom. Then up in the right corner you will see the tool wheel. Click on that and the last item is log out. Then you can log in with another booking number. Yes, it’s cumbersome. EM
  18. Sounds more like someone never found the theater. EM
  19. On deck 8 the lifeboats are not directly below the balconies. They are set out farther because there is a promenade deck on deck 7 (with no view because of the boats…). We had 8114 on Divina and we’re not bothered. However be aware that a lot of the balconies on deck 8 have tub/showers instead of a stall shower. This makes the interior of the cabin smaller because the tub takes up more space. In our Divina cabin we did not have a couch, just a plush chair. They only book two in these cabins. If you look on the deck plans you will see a little B which indicates tub.
  20. It works fine on my iPhone and iPad mini, but not on my full iPad. It’s frustrating. EM
  21. Feel free to copy or forward the pics. They are views she won’t get from the ship… Gatun Locks
