  1. On the Disabled Cruisers board there is a endless thread about cruising with a service dog. EM
  2. It has been reported that on some cruises it is rice cookers. EM
  3. An interesting observation: many years ago we sailed on QE2 and did a cabin crawl. We saw a Princess Grill cabin that was just a very large square. 12 years ago we were on a four day cruise on Queen Elizabeth, and when we got off, my TA was boarding. I went looking for her cabin as I wanted to leave her a gift (about 40 pillow chocolates from Celebrity). Close to her cabin was one larger and as I peeked in, it looked just like a minisuite. I thought ‘I don’t remember QE having minisuites. Later on the deck plan I realized it was a Princess Grill cabin. Looked just like a mini, but costing a lot more. EM
  4. Many, many years ago when I was in grade school, it was popular to have a penpal in a foreign country. I acquired one who lived in Japan. He/she sent me a box of traditional Japanese things. I wanted to return the gesture, but back in the 1950’s it was nearly impossible to find small item that represented American culture that were not ‘made in Japan’. EM
  5. There are only two lines/ships sailing from Corfu this summer: AAIDAblu and Marella Explorer. So I suspect the OP is on Marella. EM
  6. Cruisedeckplans has videos of OS on Venezia. Description is single or double sofa. No uppers. So two will have to share the sofa. EM
  7. He’s looking at an OS, which I assume is Ocean Suite. EM
  8. Thank you for coming here and relating your experience. I have gone to the Explora roll calls and warned them about using the new locks. Easter Sunday and we have Oosterdam eastbound
  9. Stay tuned…you may have noticed the several threads about the Key bridge collapse…your ship may be leaving from Norfolk rather than Baltimore. Depends on when they get the bridge wreckage cleared from the channel, and the channel dredged. EM
  10. You might ask on the Alaska board about the 26 glacier tour…but I doubt there is a lot of tourist traffic in Whittier so I would bet that most of the people on the tour would also be boarding the ship after. And the tour operators know when you need to be back. EM
  11. Likely the same union but different skills. I’m sure @chengkp75could give us a good explanation. From prior reading I have learned that the cruise ship gigs are much sought after due to the anticipated (optional) gratuities, and that they bid for the jobs. Many of those that get them have high seniority, might be bringing home better salaries than you…EM
  12. Welcome to Cruise Critic. As MCC retired said, see what she may be able to offer beyond what the cruise line website offers. If nothing, book online. We have many resources here for Alaska information, primary of which is the Alaska board, located under Ports of Call. Well traveled Alaska cruisers there, as well as locals full of info and advice. EM
  13. Nearest might depend on which pier the ship is using. Do you know? There are two Princess ships in Soton on Sept. 12. Maybe someone on the UK Cruising board has a link to a Soton schedule with docking location listed. EM
  14. I shouldn’t think immigration will play into it. If you are sailing from a Med. port, you will already have been cleared by immigration when you entered that country. Since chances are all of your stops will be in Schengen countries, no need for immigration. EM
  15. I believe as long as one of the original guests remains on the reservation, other guests may be switched out. Sometimes there is a minor fee for this, but that depends on the cruise line. It would be best if you ask this on the board here for the cruise line involved. EM
  16. Schools in the South finish by the third week of May, sometimes earlier. But they start up in early August…. EM
  17. I booked a fantastica inside gty and got a balcony. EM
  18. You might also consider MSC in the Yacht Club. You won’t find enrichment lectures due to the international mix of guests, but there is plenty to do. EM
  19. Go over to the Alaska board under Ports of Call. Lots of experts there. EM
  20. MSC uses the dock in Marghera where the fast ferries dock. Across the lagoon from Venice proper. Perhaps Fusina? There is a ferry from Fusina to Venice.
  21. Ahhh…so she’s a little chubby…EM
  22. I believe someone who did a Live from recently did this. Perhaps @TxTeach79 or @Saint Greg…EM
  23. Mahogany Bay is a Carnival created port with two berths. But other cruise lines occasionally show up there, and I believe maybe Divina was there in the last couple of months. I’m sure if the two ships call at different ports, a cab will take you to Coxen Hole. EM
