  1. Passengers wishing to go ashore meet in the designated location, usually a DR, to receive their tender tickets. Groups wishing to go ashore together all have to be there to get the tender tickets and board the same tender. One person is not permitted to collect tickets for members of their group that are not there. I have seen elites handled two different ways. a) they go to the DR and are placed into a special line for the next shuttle. b) They have a separate location where the staff member releases them to the pontoon as shuttles become available. I have seen family members that were allowed to go with their elite family members and I have seen that request rejected. I would plan on the latter. At some point in the morning tender tickets are no longer required and passengers just go directly to the pontoon.
  2. Normal layout for a Princess balcony cat cabin has the head against the padded wall between the cabins. Once on board in your Plaza deck cabin you could ask the cabin steward if it is possible to turn the beds 90 degrees and place your bed across the cabin with the head against the cabin wall. Maybe it can be accomplished, maybe not. There would not be a padded headboard as that is attached to the outside wall.
  3. Onboard cost would be right around $95/pp/day for the three plus benefits, $70 for the beverage package, around $15 for the gratuities, $10 for the wifi.
  4. In the Deluxe Balcony cabins with 4 berths the 3rd berth is the two seat sofa and the 4th berth lowers from the ceiling. No DB cabins have berths against the wall. That configuration is normally interior cabins.
  5. All of them you mention. Limon is an old town, not tourist oriented. No beach, just local stores. Cartagena has a nice walk over to the port entrance. There is some shopping at the port. The old town is a short taxi ride. Grand Cayman is kind of like other Caribbean ports. Tourist shops along the waterfront. Downtown area a block or two from the waterfront has lots of banks. You did not mention Panama. After the ship clears the locks it anchors in Gatun Lake. At that time passengers on Princess tours are tendered ashore. No one else is permitted to tender ashore. At some point the ship exits the locks and docks at Cristobol where you can get off. There are some vendors on the pier. No town nearby. Passengers on Princess tours re-embark in Cristobol.
  6. What are you trying to determine? Do you wish to have a queen bed or twin beds. Almost all cabins on Princess have beds that can be placed together to form a queen bed or separated to form twin beds. When the cabin does not have that option it is noted in red print on the deck plans. The cabins you mention have no red print.
  7. Believe that if you request the beds in the queen configuration then they are placed together under the window with the nightstand(s) on each side. If you choose the twin configuration then the beds would be against the walls with the two nightstand(s) in the middle. If you are in one of the 8 cabins that can sleep 4 the 3rd and 4th berths may fold down from the walls or they may lower from the ceiling. If on the wall then the lower berths would be probably be against the wall. If lowered from the ceiling and only two in the cabin then you can choose queen or twin configuration.
  8. We took this cruise in the beginning of April a number of years ago. The weather was warm for the first few days. Then it got cooler, but never cold. Crossing the North Atlantic is never a tropical cruise if that is what you are looking for. I have read on these boards that internet service is not very good during the crossing.
  9. "i have been on the Sapphire and loved the IC it always seemed to hit the spot. we are looking at the diamond as well and looking at the video it shows the IC ." The Diamond does not have an International Cafe. The video is not correct. Some unaware person must have copied the information from the Sapphire. The Diamond has LaPatisserie located at the Good Spirits Bar in the Grand Plaza on deck 5. They have a small selection of pastries, cookies, things like that, and the specialty coffee drinks. No sushi. Sushi is available at Kai Sushi each evening and during lunch and the afternoon on sea days. Items are menu priced. There might be some sushi available at the Horizon Court. Worth a look.
  10. LGA or JFK. If you fly to Newark suggest you arrange a Princess transfer to/from the pier.
  11. "In Kauai, staying on board no open tours." It is a short walk to a small shopping area and then just a little further to Dukes on the beach
  12. Let me try to understand the new configuration Cabin one ( 3 person cabin) two sons and nephew Cabin two Mom as a single. Where are you? Are all adults? Probably better to book one of the sons or nephew into the cabin with your mom and then once onboard just arrange to move to the three person cabin. The person that moves into the cabin with your mom I believe will be required to get the upgraded premier package.
  13. The LaPatisserie has coffee drinks like the International Cafe. There may also be some pastry or cookie selections. Unless Princess makes drastic changes it will not have the food selections, for breakfast and the balance of the day that are available at the International Cafe. It is basically a coffee bar with some pastries. When the Diamond finally sails you will be able to get a more accurate description of what is available there.
  14. "Something Special" covers a wide selection of choices. If you would like something like extra veggies, side of mashed potatoes, a veggie platter, something like that can be arranged. If you want a totally different entree the galley probably will not have much available. If you have special diet requirements meet with the head waiter during the prior evening dinner and discuss. You also have the ability to order from the youth menu. There are always the alternate dining areas.
  15. I would just call or chat with an agent and ask them to apply your FCD(s) to the booking. I would use the FCD(s) reference numbers. I do not think Princess will be closed on Sunday or Monday.
  16. It will be deck 6. Just go there and you will easily find it.
  17. " What am I going to do with almost $700 in onboard when we already have princess plus?" Purchase some nice overpriced clothing that you may not need. Use it in the casino. Sign up for the Chef's Table, maybe balcony ding if offered, or wine maker's dinner.
  18. a) Excursion OBC. The OBC is posted on your account(s) and can be used for anything on board. Not restricted to excursions. Your TA is not correct. If you do not have pre-paid gratuities the OBC will be used up very quickly. b) Ship to airport transfer. You can book once on board at the excursion desk. It will be charged to your on board account and net against any credit(OBC) or debit balance. Princess may offer for pre-booking a disembarkation tour which drops you off at the airport. But, a plain transfer is just easier to book once on board. There are plenty of spaces on the busses. Which port? For many ports and most U.S. ports it is just easier, private, quicker, and usually less expensive, to just take a taxi or Uber to the airport.
  19. Brewed coffee is drip. They use a better blend. Most specialty coffees are prepared in those machines like you see in Starbucks. Many of the drinks use espresso.
  20. Pass on special dress night. Not fun.
  21. Inside: Speakeasy cigar lounge deck 6 (only location on the ship where you can smoke cigars and pipes) Casino, about half the slots. no smoking ay table games or at the casino bar A section of Skywlker's lounge normally in the evening Outside: A small section of the promenade, starboard, outside of Club Fusion Area by Tradewinds Bar deck 16 Note that there could be a crew smoking area on the promenade deck stern area and that those in covid cabins are permitted to smoke on their balconies.
  22. You can spot the balcony on this photo. It is an extended balcony with partial cover. https://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images;_ylt=AwrE.yq_GUBj37APejVXNyoA;_ylu=Y29sbwNiZjEEcG9zAzEEdnRpZANMT0NVSTA1NF8xBHNlYwNzYw--?p=Sky+Princess+photos&fr=mcafee#id=24&iurl=https%3A%2F%2Fcruisefever.net%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2019%2F12%2Fskyprincess.jpg&action=click
  23. I went to onboard our ships, visit the traveling with family FAQ, age appropriate customized programs. You will find the text mentioned in post #6. This differs from what you found. Princess' information is inconsistent and does not help the poster very much.
  24. Princess ships have laundry rooms with free steam irons. That is an option.
  25. Each adult passenger is permitted to bring on board 1 x 750ml bottle of wine at no charge for use in the cabin. for both of you that is 2 bottles. Additional bottles can be brought on board and are subject to a $20/bottle corkage fee. Corkage paid bottles may be used anywhere on the ship. If free bottles are brought to the DR or other public location they are subject to the corkage fee. People just pour the wine and carry the glass.
