  1. No clouds here. Very clear sky. Plus fare pays for itself if you drink 2 to 3 alcoholic beverages per day and it is very convenient. Those with lots of OBC can do the math.
  2. We took a private car service. Reasonable cost. Met us at the airport and drove us to the hotel while we mainly slept from the over night flight. We found our service on line. The service we used is no longer in business.
  3. Hi I have two questions. 1 I would like to book the sanctuary (adult only area on the Sky princess on our sea days. Please can anyone enlighten me to the process of booking this . Board early. Go directly to the sanctuary and select your lounge and days. If you are saily on a tropical cruise then expect there will be high demand. 2 This is our first cruise, and we would like to do the formal nights, but I would like to know if a Jacket with a waist coat is ok to attend or do I have to wear a tuxedo. You can wear anything from smart casual to tuxedo. In the Caribbean tux are in the minority.
  4. Visit the restaurant the first afternoon and book, that was always my choice. You can also call the dining line if you can get through.
  5. Basically if you select the plus fare the breakeven point is two to three alcoholic beverages/pp/day. The calculation is $50 fare increase minus crew incentive of around $15/pp/day depending on cabin cat. minus internet which on the low end is $5 = $30. A couple of $10 alcoholic drinks or a few beers plus a few specialty coffees, some water bottles, maybe a soda or two and you are at $30. Without the plus fare the cost of the $12 limit alcoholic beverage package is $70 plus the crew incentive of $15 plus the internet $5 = $90. That is a lot of drinks to cover, between 7 and 10 depending on what you drink.
  6. The accounting system uses the non refundable OBC first, then the refundable. Your travel summary should show which is non and which is refundable. Your $250 and $100 is almost certainly non refundable. If any or all of the $500 OBC from the T.A is refundable then any unused portion of that will be refunded. If the TA OBC is nonrefundable then any credit balance (OBC) is lost when disembarking. If non refundable is the case purchase something on the ship or gamble in the casino by charging the gambling amounts to your on board accounts. You could win or walk away with something.
  7. All DRs have the same menus. Santorini deck 5 mid ship and Capri deck 6 mid ship are a little smaller and a little easier to get to. Capri has a section for Club Class dining. Amalfi deck 6 aft is a larger DR. To access Amalfi you have to walk to the aft elevators/stairs on deck 7 or above and then take the elevator/stairs down to deck 6. There is no connection between the Amalfi DR on deck 6 and mid ship. Can not comment on the table size other than saying that it is reported that the app has many issues. If you wish to share a table speak with the head waiter once on board. Luggage tags are printed on the web through the travel summary and not on the app. If you do not have access to a printer they will be applied at the pier.
  8. Go right to the source provided in post #6
  9. Have not actually eaten there. On the Emerald, Ruby and Crown it is located inside the Wheelhouse bar, starboard side. Seating is at not to comfortable high tables. On the Discovery and Enchanted it is located in the Piazza in the area where Vines is located on other ships. Seating on these two ships are regular low tables. It is casual dining. Jeans, shorts, and other casual dress is normal anytime. It is open from 11am onward. There are no TV's on the Grand Class ships. In the video there does not seem to be any TV's on the two Royal Class ships that have this option. From the menu there are 3 veggie options. I is basically a bar eatery. By the way, pre-covid the cost was $12.
  10. The rule is one shareholder's OBC per cabin. Yes, it has been reported that sometimes when cabins were shared by passengers with different last names and each owns stock in their name then each received the OBC. Believe these situations are in error and not policy.
  11. Is it that good wines are in short supply, or is it that Princess does not have the credit to purchase a complete supply of wines for their inventory including the finer wines?
  12. If there is a M&G it will be mentioned in this roll call
  13. No. Princess excursions are the only expense that you can use OBC to pre-book. Everything else must be on board.
  14. Officially one per stateroom. You will find the information on the below website. “Only one onboard credit per shareholder-occupied stateroom.” https://www.carnivalcorp.com/static-files/50351a91-4dc0-4f6b-bfec-684647e6129f
  15. Here are four of them. Churchill's, deck 6, fwd port, only location on the ship where cigar & pipe smoking is allowed About half the casino slots while playing. Table games are no smoking Promemade deck starboard aft patio outside of the Vista Lounge Sun deck all the way aft.
  16. Actually Princess just released information regarding new MDR holiday menus which includes New Years. I found the new Thanksgiving menu. The New Years menu should be available at some point.
  17. Can be used for anything you purchase on board (exception future cruise deposits). Can also be used to pre-book excursions. Can not be used to pre-book anything else. Anything else pre-booked such as specialty dining will be charged directly to your credit card when booked.
  18. It is worth finding another cruise line that does not nickel & dime their valued customers.
  19. As far as I am aware there is only one plan which is unlimited internet. Blocked sites, if any, would be blocked for everyone. Are you thinking about another cruise line? Here is the information on Princes' Medallion Net https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/ocean-medallion/medallionnet/
  20. Both Falmouth, Jamaica and Grand Cayman will have beach possibilities. Cristobol is just a pier stop to take on passengers that took Princess excursions from Gatun Lake. There should be some vendors on the pier where you can get off and walk around a little. Once the ship clears the locks it anchors in Gatun Lake. Only passengers on Princess tours may disembark the ship in Gatun Lake. No private tours or going around on your own. Cartagena is a tour city, mostly the old town which is a short ride from the pier. Princess does offer some beach tours. It's a nice walk to the terminal area where there are items for sale. There is also a parrot zoo there. Limon does not have a usable beach. What once was a local beach is all in rubble and ruins. Limon is an old town with stores that service the local population. Not a real tourist spot. Activities in Limon are basically the nature tours. Costa Rica's beaches are on the Pacific side.
  21. Way too short. I know I take pool/swim/bar breaks that are longer than 20 minutes. Not everyone that uses the pool facility sits in their lounge chair all day. Not everyone keeps saying to themselves I have to watch the clock and be back to my chair to punch in by 1:45pm. I don't believe this practice will last very long. It is very controversial and probably will cause more issues than the issue they are trying to solve. The way to solve the issue is to build ships that just have more lounges around the pools.
  22. Yes. They will post as a credit to the on board account. Anything you or he purchases, including casino play, and charges to your on board accounts will net against any credit balance in a simple debit/credit system. If you do not have your crew incentive (daily gratuities) covered by the plus or premier fares then this charge will also net against any credit balance until the credit balance is used up.
  23. Depends. Latest around 1, 1:30. Cabins could be ready when you board around 11:30. Some ship's hotel managers have the fire doors closed and limit access to cabins. Other ships leave the doors open and allow you to drop your stuff. There may be an announcement, there may not.
