  1. The casinos are owned and operated by a concession company that shares a rake of the profits with Carnival. The concessionaire pays Carnival for the cabins and other perks such as comp meals, drinks and cabin amenities offered to the players.
  2. One week in January on Panorama the Pixels staff found 2 cases of the Carnival themed Tervis tumblers in storage and those went in a big hurry. We got lucky that cruise. The other 8 Panorama sailings were the ankle monitors.
  3. Now you're in the platinum gift twilight zone, put one on your ankle.
  4. We've worn the 8 koozies we've received on the Panorama on our ankle during the cruise like they are court ordered monitors. Most people who notice laugh and ask what they are.
  5. Hey now, be careful here, you're using the voice of reason 😉
  6. On board Panorama in April a friend reports they were refused entry wearing pressed linen dress shorts. A hostess with an attitude spoke condescendingly to them and refused to refund their pre-paid meals. They then complained about her to the front desk and rather than a refund they were admitted dressed as is. It's wishy-washy on Carnival when it comes to enforcement with most things.
  7. For the low price of $59.99 you can take the Funderstruck Carnival Kitchen 101 class where you'll learn how to form a hamburger patty and cook it overly well done that so it looks gray. Funderstruck 202 will teach you the fine art of seasoning Guy's Fries. Funderstruck 101 is a requirement for this advanced class.
  8. It is delicious and only available on Vista Class ships: Vista, Horizon and Panorama.
  9. So you're announcing that you're bringing a prohibited item on board to use in your cabin and looking for other violators for advice. The advice for you is: don't do this, there are good reasons why they are prohibited. The cabins are not wired for these units.
  10. When these first came into use they were a series of various American cities. I recall Seattle, New York and New Orleans were in the mix. Maybe all that's left are the Hollywood plates no one wanted to lift. 🙂
  11. There's a steakhouse on the Fantasy Class ships now, this must be new.
  12. Congrats on WC sailing. You will see the Baja Peninsula there and back. Here's a Princess ship sailing along side Panorama in March as seen from one of our two portholes in a 1A category cabin. You can see land in the background. Have fun, Panorama is a fine ship.
  13. Check the college spring break schedules for AZ,CA and Utah prior to booking.
  14. Yes, on Panorama in the aft Marketplace Lido buffet near the deli. If the keg is blown it will debit your card regardless and you will need a supervisor to verify the keg is empty and have the debit reversed. Also, there is a countdown second clock the moment you swipe your card so have the glass in your hand before swiping and get ready to pour or the timer shuts the spigot off. It's a hassle at times TBH.
  15. I'm hoping there will be several tea afternoons on the 8 day Carnival Magic sailing of November 5.
  16. Premium teas are offered for $2.95 each. These include teas grown in former British colonies. If you had been a big spender you could have upgraded your tea experience. You did not.
  17. Have you considered booking a cruise with maryann2? 🙂
  18. There's two of us so they're a great value.
  19. The land Carnival builds on will be leased and not owned by Carnival. When the lease expires and or is not renewed the improvements Carnival built will stay. The Bahamian government has strict land ownership laws.
  20. This often happens when there was an overcharge for the estimated port fees and taxes although it doesn't usually show on your account until you board. This is a good guess.
  21. The ocean view windows often have so much salt dried on them from sea spray it's like trying to see through dried milk. On the other hand the porthole windows on the Vista Class ships have automatic window washing devices which wash and rinse the glass every evening while we sleep. Oh, and we save on average 30% on these outside cabins which sell for an interior price and have the same design and features of a balcony cabin, including the sofa and coffee table.
  22. My card stays in my thin, vacation downsized wallet and that's how I like it.
  23. No, they don't and it's a shame.
