  1. Were you asked at the first check in station at the terminal to read the health questions on a paper in a plexiglass stand on the check in table?
  2. The following has been added to the Know Before You Go emails sent by Carnival: "We want you to have a memorable vacation but please remember a cruise ship is a shared space. Our Carnival Values underscore that everyone should feel welcome and included, and that everyone on board demonstrate care and respect towards others. No one will ever confuse a Carnival Cruise Line ship with a school library, but our experience has taught us that everyone has a better time when children are supervised, noise in the hallways is kept to a minimum, guests follow queues, and that a spirit of community and neighborliness is shown by all. Consistent with our commitment to safety, disruptive behavior is not tolerated and any guest whose conduct affects the comfort, enjoyment, safety or well-being of other guests or crew will be disembarked at their own expense and banned from sailing on Carnival in the future." I imagine we shall see if this has teeth.
  3. Thank you. A separate email, the " Know Before You Go " information seems to have been edited to add good behavior language. Is this new or am I late to the notice? 4. I received an email an hour ago reminding me to complete a pre-boarding health assessment. I went to my planner for the cruise and there is no assessment. Is this the Carnival IT dept. acting up and the assessment will appear eventually? On our 9 cruises since October the assessment has been there but after we would complete it we still received reminders to fill it out and eventually we got a notice " just go to the pier and fill the form out there. " LOL
  5. Welcome back. I plan to order the Pollo Parmigiana if it's still listed on the menu. 🙂
  6. We never think of it as an appetizer because we order an app, then have the starter portion of whatever that night's pasta entree is and then the main. Maybe its listing on this menu is special to reflect the Cucina is closed for dinner? That could be why the Pollo Parmigiana is listed as a main, too. Just a guess.
  7. I thought so, too, although while the pasta entree has not been listed with the apps it has been available as a "starter portion" for years if you asked. We've done this since 2012.
  8. Interesting question, now you have me curious, hurry back Fly!
  9. Good morning and welcome to Ensenada. I board on the 29th and would like to get to my muster station first thing. If you should see the location of Muster Station G, please share. Thank you and have fun today!
  10. We returned so often to enjoy the brunch twice on sea days. We do like our soft boiled eggs and the late, but not forgotten, filet mignon. We sailed to Ensenada often on Miracle's sister the Spirit on 9 day sailings from San Diego. The layout and size of the Spirit Class ships has to be experienced at least once. Happy sails on Miracle.
  11. That's a good idea to book a side to side like that. We've sailed the Miracle 5 times now, the last time was in April of this year. After 9 cruises on Panorama since October of last year through March of this year the charm of the Miracle was no longer there for us. We never noticed how dark the lido dining room is, the MDR has always been dark, but now the lido. You like Farcus, and so do we, but the gloss of the Panorama had us in its spell the 5 days we sailed Miracle to Cabo and Ensenada in April and missed her the whole cruise.
  12. I know what you're saying and when driving my car south of Rosarito we've been stopped on the highway by Federales over the years as though they are looking for someone. I may feel different these days though because most recently there were numerous reports that there were blockades set up with the bad dudes uniformed like Federales. We sail on the 29th this month aboard the Radiance. We almost never go ashore in Ensenada. We booked this 4 day cruise so we could fill up on Shaq's Big Chicken for breakfast and lunch everyday anyway. ' Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges. We're only here for Shaq's Big Chicken.'
  13. The same phenomenon happened with monkfish, NYC yuppies in the 80s discovered it tastes like lobster and that's all she wrote pricewise. On topic: In the steakhouse the Napa Valley Caymus is a good seller.
  14. Flat Irons are tricky. They're cut from under the shoulder and developed by an ag school in Nebraska. There is a broad vein of sinew that goes through that muscle. When carefully butchered the steak will be tender. If sinew is present it's tough and chewy but the part without sinew will still have good flavor and tenderness. So, to me the flat iron is far superior to the strip loin served now. https://thehustle.co/the-invention-of-the-flat-iron-steak-2/
  15. No bottle of wine of any vintage or price could make that nasty piece of meat go down.
  16. Thanks, I may be thinking of an earlier brunch menu that had an upcharge. Maybe it was a fresh seafood tower? Hmmm Yes, the room service lox came with Spanish capers too and that's what made it for me 🙂
  17. Was there a charge for the lox and bagel like there was with the tower? Thanks
  18. No, you're asking if people disregard and violate the correct procedure. The answer to your question is yes, there are violators.
  19. There's steak and eggs but the petite filet mignon has sadly been replaced with the same strip loin served in the MDR on the "every night" section of the menu. It can't compare to the excellent filet mignon that was served.
  20. What about $25 cash? On the Miracle and other ships they have a different accounting program so they have to hand the tournament perk out in cold, hard cash 🙂
  21. There's another permanent change. Time was you could rent a tux and shoes on Carnival. I wore my own tux on the Jubilee in '91 on both formal nights, as they were then known. I don't miss it and my luggage and the restrictive/costly airline rules get along better when I keep things simple.
  22. Hi Ken, This is Peter J. from Baja Boys 2011 and 2012 Spirit cruises. Samuel Cordero passed last week, August 10th in Santa Fe. There is a news article in the Santa Fe Reporter online newspaper about it. Is there a way, say on F- B, I can send you a direct message? On that site of faces that can't be mentioned here I go by Jack Jellison. If I send you a friend request would you accept, please? I have some cruise dates next year to discuss with you and to get your expert advice. Sorry to bring bad news, hope you are well. Peter
  23. I was in Rosarito Beach on Wednesday this week. I didn't see cars on fire but I did pay $3.72 a gallon for regular gas. Other than Ensenada, Carnival really doesn't have any nearby ports to visit in Mexico that I am aware.
  24. The skeet shooting on Carnival was more fun than hitting a ball over the side, or worse, against a net. Not boujie at all.
