  1. Love both classes. The E-class was wonderful. We had a sky suite. The service wonderful and the ship magnificent. We also enjoy the Reflection. The lawn club grill is one of our favorite restaurants at sea on the reflection and silly only- but we loved Eden on the E-class ships.! If you could split your vacation why not do both? We have done this before and it was fun! Also we were never fans of Blu, so really your choice- I would choose a sunset balcony on an e-class if I couldn't do a suite. Enjoy your cruises.
  2. We put our wallets, jewelry and passports in the safe- we were in a sky suite- safe isn't big.
  3. Depends on your itinerary. If that works for you great. Laundry ok for not good clothes, underwear , tee shirts and anything that will survive a hot dryer, and dry cleaning ok but costly.
  4. Don't worry, you will have a cabin. People cancel, upgrade, etc. I am sure a cabin has been saved for you. Hopefully a good cabin on a perfect deck. Good luck and enjoy your cruise.
  5. We wrote a review covering major points of our two week b/t/b Apex cruise. Loved it. But also enjoy the charm of the Reflection and Silhouette.
  6. We use laundry and dry cleaning service on a cruise- at least two loads a week- we also do not pack light. Use hooks for hand washables. We have good roller luggage and each take a large piece and a carry on- also a backpack purse for me. Sometimes an additional suit roller piece. This depends on the lenght of the cruise. As soon as we get to the airport we check luggage outside- and we immediately get a porter to assist when we arrive at our destination to bring us to our cab. Same leaving terminal. IMO worth it to pay for extra luggage if necessary and luggage assistance. Bring what you want on the cruise.
  7. Depends on how big your nest egg is. We give gifts, but our children want us to have a great retirement
  8. So sad that they gave money to their kids! Our kids make very good livings and support themselves and their families. They wouldn't want to rob us of a comfortable future. We give nice gifts to them and our grandchildren, but they are responsible for their own family. So said that your friends gave away all of their money and sad that the kids accepted it.
  9. Ships are now so full. So many people are sailing again now. Be prepared for the crowds. Also the cruise fares have gotten obscene.
  10. Many people are "super rich" in the world. Including our country. They have so much money that they cannot possibly spend it all in one lifetime. Also, some people might be terminally ill and say if not now never. I know people who were "comfortable" but were so obsessed with saving for their retirement and unfortunately never reached retirement. I believe you should enjoy your life when you can. However do not be irresponsible as you might be a lucky person and live past retirement.
  11. We saw Mama Mia. It wasn't three hours. It was great. Enjoy. So much better then CATs. I will not see again- but probably will pass this time on the Oasis in a few months ugh.
  12. People had three or four in a cabin or suite. They anticipate in regular cabins/suites two. Lots of kids on our last apex sailing
  13. Yes. We booked early at a great rate also. We typically book suites, but may havevto get used to lesser accommodations
  14. I get sticker shock when I see the prices of the actual cruise. The airfare is also nuts now. Ironically the last cruise we were on a few weeks ago (celebrity apex) was overbooked. We were told that it was 105% of capacity. Clearly, lots of wealthy people out their. The prices aren't deterring them! All suites were booked.
  15. Costal kitchen is open. Typically if you arrive early no seating problem. Not sure about specialty restaurants on boarding day. Enjoy your cruise
  16. Love the Apex. We have sailed on her three times. We give additional tips to bartenders, $1. per drink and in Specialty restaurants typically $10 -$20 per couple. When I went to the hair salon, also gave additional tips, depending upon the level of service. Also to the cabin attendant. We bring about $150 for extra tipping. Chalk it up to misc.
  17. We enjoyed the infinity. She is in need of a major redo- but still a beautiful ship. We go back and forth and sail on Royal, Oasis class, and Celebrity S, M and now E class. Love them all for different reasons. Thanks for sharing.
  18. We also love the reflection and Silhouette. But give the apex and other edge class ships a try. We really loved it. So many positives. Truly a great ship. It is bigger, but well laid out and the pool deck and multiple dining rooms are great. I do not suggest an infinite veranda, but if not a suite, an aft balcony wonderful. Try it!
  19. They are so helpful. I put all hats and caps on them. Also my seapass cards. I use to hang important memos on also. My beach robe and swimsuit to dry- Also my beach bags. Great to buy heavy duty types. I use in bathroom to hang a clip clothes line in the bathroom
  20. We enjoy being near the elevators. Like cabins above and below. Also, get a cabin without a connecting door if possible and not across from a staff area- Enjoy your cruise.
  21. Our favorite is the Harmony of the Seas- really all Oasis class. We aren't fans of the old ships. Went on Adventure of the seas last summer so disappointing- old - run down staterooms. Never again.
  22. Wrinkle sprays like Downy pretty good. Steam bathroom by running hot water in shower or pay for pressing services. Worth a few dollars for those pieces you care about. We allow a misc fund for laundry and dry cleaning on our cruises.
