  1. In my opinion abolutely. Really enhances your cruise experience. Suite lounge and deck are wonderful. Luminae is great. Even the entry level suites are fabulous. No infinite veranda- bathroom terrific. All is great- if you can afford go for it. Enjoy
  2. Towards the front of the edge class ships are what I call cove balconies. They are true balconies and have a huge outside circular cut out- not a window. Privacy on both sides. It is an option.
  3. Funny how many seem to complain about the food. Most people I speak to gain weight when they cruise! Perhaps the food is too abundant and good! lol. I am still carrying a couple of extra pounds from our Jan cruise and will be cruising again in March!
  4. With th exception of Michaels club/aka the retreat and Luminae- really no other "suite area" The e-class ships do have a really nice deck with water options. That makes a great difference for a suite experience. We also being in a suite spent most of our time in non-suite areas on M and S class ships. E class another level.
  5. I believe that the IV was a big mistake- I don't get it. Room actually seems very narrow. The lack of a balcony and the fact that the ac in the cabin will shut off is a deal breaker. Cheaper and better to book an oceanview. If you don't want a suite, book an aft balcony with a real balcony.
  6. Both are great choices. We have sailed many times on all of the S class ships. Reflection and Silhouette our favorites. Depends on your budget . The Apex is also a great ship! Sailed on her in Dec/Jan and will again in March. A different experience. Better suite perks on the E class ships. But we really enjoy the S class ships. You cannot go wrong- look at the itinerary and cost. Enjoy your cruise.
  7. If you pay 3-4 times more pp, you absolutely expect the highest level of service and additional perks. Why not? If you want the "extra" level of service, try an entry level suite. A big difference. Just like IMO dining in a specialty restaurant is much better then dining in the regular dining rooms. Also Elite plus members are given extra perks.
  8. Years ago, my sister and her husband rented scooters. She got a horrible burn on her ankle from the exhaust. A great way to ruin your vacation. Walk, take a cab, or bus or ferry on the Island.
  9. We enjoy and will continue to enjoy celebrity. Yes, people still coughing, and covid and other respiratory infections on board, but wear a mask in elevators and crowded venues. This isn't a celebrity issue, it is a cruise issue. We sailed in Dec and January and enjoyed all of the food in the specialty restaurants- found service on the Apex wonderful. Will be cruising again in March on Celebrity. We also sailed on Royal past august, and they also were great. This is a new world, and things are changing period.
  10. We are two young seniors, but I am cautiously optimistic about the kids on the Icon of the Seas- even booked a suite in the neighborhood geared to families. It was a decent price and allowed us to get all suite benefits. We might be sorry as we aren't bringing any grandchildren with us.
  11. The Apex might work the best for both of you- plently of sun- and limited shade. My DH has had multiple skin cancers- We avoid the sun. Just be sure you see your dermatologist for a full body check up annually more if necessary. Don't like preaching- but some skin cancer is deadly.
  12. Yes. We get bottled water, wine and mixed drinks. All available and included. Also specialty coffee.
  13. We also love the M class luminae- but the suite deck, including pool, hot tub and bar, which also serves a light lunch and other treats is the best. Only complaint is not enough shaded spots. Heard on the Beyond much more shaded spots.
  14. We never had a problem. We also bring a medicine chest with us. Just never brought sutures!
  15. In addition to all of the perk, the actual cabin is so much bigger and more comfortable. We love the retreat lounge and on the E class ships the retreat deck. A truly great experience. However, since in such high demand, the prices are getting obscene.
  16. We enjoy lePetite chef and for every Celebrity cruise we take we go once. A unique experience and the food is good. My DH doesn't eat seafood or cheese and they brought him substitutes. If you have children, or the young at heart, nice to try. However Qsine the former Le Petite Chef was excellent. Too bad they do not offer both restaurants.
  17. We recently sailed on the Edge-did a b/2/b Dec and Jan. Looking foward to our other next sailing on the Apex in March. Really like the ship- especially the Retreat.
  18. Have sailed in the Haven on NCL. Not the same product as Celebrity. The NCL ships are so crowded if you leave the Haven. Food in Specialty restaurants was disappointing. I also do not like the way the ship is designed- lack of a real theatre and center atrium. Clearly the ships appeal to many- just not for me. Will stick to Royal Caribbean- Oasis and newer ships and Celebrity.
  19. Still some cases of covid on the ships. Just on the ship in January. Got covid. Fortunately fully immunized so not serious.
  20. True. We enjoy the ambiance and overall service on a cruise ship especially in suite class. Something special about being on the ocean. We eat to live- not live to eat. And still are overweight!
  21. It is a wonderful idea to rotate your dining in all of the restaurants- great choices- Loved the Grill on top of the ship. Really enjoyed Eden and the steak house. We do not eat sushi- so not for us- Found the food very good and my DH who is a truly fussy eater also enjoyed. Also fun in Le Petite chef restaurant. I guess to each his/her own- going on the Apex for the third time in March- even better then Edge and I heard the beyond is even better then both. We are in a suite.
  22. Yes- check in. If you get a move up, the cabin/suite will change. If you move up to a suite, when onboard or as soon as you are notified of the change, you can cancel things that you paid additional for such as beverage packages, wiifi that will now be included. Good luck.
  23. The advantage of booking on line is that you get the time and date you want. If you aren’t booking a package of three or more dinners which you pick on board. You can use your on board credit to book on line if shipboard credit. If you use credit and change your mind it is easily refunded .
