  1. If you are in a sky suite or above, the retreat lounge hasn't been updated- still Michaels club. Also no suite deck on that ship. However, we love it as it has our favorite restaurant the Lawn Grill and Michaels club is fine- actually nicer in some ways then other updated ships as the seating for the concierge as well as the guests in more comfortable.. Our reflection suite was immaculate and in great shape a few months ago. Service also wonderful. Enjoy your cruise.
  2. We enjoy seadays. We spend time in suite lounge and on suite deck. Walk multiple times around the ship. We have dinner in specialty restaurants most nights. See the shows and enjoy trivia and other posted activities. Read and play on iPhone. Wonderful time
  3. We were on the Oasis of the Seas a couple of weeks ago and had the same bugs on our balcony. Didn't use it!
  4. Usually best specials on port days. You will have info on the newsletter delivered to your stateroom daily
  5. Do not count on prices coming down. Now the prices are going up- seems like daily. Ships are now sailing full. Book as soon as you can- this goes for air also. I do not recommend an inside cabin. Good luck.
  6. I should complain directly to Celebrity.
  7. IMO nothing like a suite- while I book S1 or S2's, the suite deck, restaurant and other suite perks are well worth it. We have had Aft suites on the Solstice class ships and found them to be much too sunny and too much soot for our tastes- couldn't use the balcony at all. Never had an aft cabin on the Edge class ships. Also, not a fan of the infinite veranda staterooms.
  8. I wouldn’t buy used “authentic” designer items. Let the buyer beware
  9. I would never order on line- so many fakes out. You should go directly to a LV shop or a true first rate department store that carries the line- ie. Macy's in Manhattan.
  10. Just off the Oasis of the Seas, Concierge's in the suite lounge were Edwin and Ricardo- Never had then on any other ship- but did have another Edwin. They seemed overwhelmed and the loyalty ambassador Vernon was helpful and available.
  11. While the dress code seems more relaxed, on all ships now, I would suggest you bring polo type shirts vs. tee shirts for dinner- not sure if they would throw you out, but they cannot take up more space in your luggage and you will have no issues or worries- you can leave the tux home if you wish- and bring a jacket and button down shirts for chic nights- Just a suggestion-
  12. We had Royal Suite in March- not from move up on the equinox. They did cheap out and no longer gave us a bathrobe nor monogrammed PJs. Celebrity is cutting corners- but it still was a fabulous experience. Second time in a Royal suite.
  13. Having sailed on both lines, they have different positives. If you are adults and looking for very good food- great service-I would recommend Celebrity- Our favorites are the Solstice class or edge class. However the summit was redone nicely. The edge class has great suite perks- the deck for suite guests as well as the restaurant is wonderful. The adult pool is great- not as many kids- IMO a more restful vacation. The martini bars excellent- overall excellent service all around- Speciality restaurants great. LOVE the no smoking casino and minimized smoking areas. Great one announment per day policy. The Oasis class on Royal IMO wonderful for multigenerational families. So much to do for the kids and active young adults. Entertainment beat celebrity or for that matter any other cruise line including Disney. We just got off the Oasis of the Seas and it was so crowded- back to pre covid days. Service and food good- but I think Celebrity has the edge. Shopping on Royal was very disappointing- nothing for toddlers not even tee shirts- selling used watches and handbags- guess they have a market for that merchandise. Also sailed on the Adventure of the seas in June- very disappointing all around Felt like a school cafeteria. Food poor to fair. Service lacking- ship old and rusty. Problem with plumbing. Agree that best to sail when school is in session on either. We currently have three future apex cruises and one Oasis cruise booked over the next 12 months.
  14. Adventure of the seas in may and it was packed 5 day cruise. Getting off the oasis today 9 night cruise and it is also packed
  15. Having sailed on NCL and Celebrity (others also) You will truly enjoy celebrity. We found NCL to be like steerage, unless you are in the Haven which is so expensive. You can sail in a sky suite on celebrity for so much less and get great perks. We really hated the crowds and poor ship layout on NCL And as you mention the smoke was awful. I enjoyed NCL jazz club on the breakaway and the comedy show- but found the food lacking. We even dined in specialty restaurants. Was on par with the olive garden.
  16. We were on the adventure in May. The ship needs so much work. Our worst Royal experience ever. Old, rusty or Jr. Suite toilet failed a few times. I am not done with Royal- or cruising- Just no old ships for me- only Oasis class. Food horrible- service fair- entertainment fair. We will stick to Celebrity also.
  17. Have had a Central Park balcony and really enjoyed the view and natural light
  18. If an S class a regular balcony fine- If edge class, sunset or cove balcony IMO best- I would be clostrophobic in an inside cabin especially with more then two people. But everyone has to do what their budget allows. We wouldn't book an s 3 either under or next to the magic carpet- We book an s2 or s1 on the edge class and sometimes bid for an upgrade. People say- we only sleep and shower in the cabin- we enjoy cocktails and breakfast in ours- also like to store clothing and luggage away- my kids might live out of the suitcases- Hate that. Enjoy your cruise.
  19. As soon as you board go to customer services. Sometimes they have cabins available that weren’t shared with the move up people. You should be on line as soon as you board. Good luck
  20. We had starbucks coffee in the cafe promenade on the Adventure of the Seas in March using my coffee card. It wasn't like they make it at my hometown starbucks. The barrista didn't heat the milk to a proper temp so the cappuccino didn't taste like you get a a freestanding starbucks. Some of the ships do have a real starbucks, and hopefully they make the cappuccino correctly.
  21. We were in a jr suite. Previously on the adventure we were in an owners suite. Imo no value. I am a diamond member had a lounge and got 4 free drinks. No suite restaurant on the adventure. When in a suite we had access to a specialty restaurant for breakfast only. No real suite deck. Bleacher chairs in direct sun only. My dh has had skin cancer on his nose and face and he isn’t allowed in the sun. The jr suite gave us more space and that was the only benefit. The ship needs major dry dock for all cabins and suites
  22. We were on the Adventure in May- different itinerary. Was a true disappointment- you can read my review on Adventure reviews. The ship was very crowded. The cabins old . Full of rust and stains- our toilet stopped working and needed repair a few times during the cruise- the food- was poor. Ship was so understaffed. We tried to get tender tickets to go to maine, and their was a horrible crowd in the promenade of a few hundered people- so we left and decided not to get off the ship. I wonder how many people got covid after that cruise. We enjoy Royal and are Diamond members. We have a cruise in two weeks on the Oasis- we are in suite class so can try to isolate if the ship is full. Going foward- Oasis class only.
  23. I feel the older you are, the more you should be comfortable. I have friends who retired and cruised on the cheap. Unfortunately they passed away much earlier then expected so never had the opportunity to cruise more. While you shouldn’t squander your money, you make plans and sometimes they don’t happen. Enjoy today!
