  1. Another benefit of the all included dining package (if offered for your cruise) is lunch is also included. Some sp restaurants, like the lawn club grill and sushi on five offer lunch also. Varies so check once on board.
  2. I am just making what I believe to be helpful suggestions. Of course everyone should make their own decisions- you don't have to agree with my suggestions, but I am truly trying to help those who might be interested. Have sailed on 50 cruises the past 20 years, mostly celebrity and royal, so I am just trying to give some suggestions. Everyone has to enjoy their vacation as they see fit. I am not being disrespectful Sorry if some might misinterpret my remarks.
  3. We have also sailed a couple of times in Reflection Suites on the S class ships and loved them. Getting too pricey now. Happy to stay in a sky suite!
  4. We can agree to disagree and my DH is a physicist! Wear the heavy dress shoes/loafers on the plane and the jacket- 50 lbs is a decent amount for luggage- we also take a carry-on! Surely you bring more then one pair of shoes, sandals and sneakers.
  5. We went to Nachi Cocum once and were very dissatisfied Found the service poor and the chairs and tables were dirty and busted. A small pool and lacking nice facilities. We love port days and do stay on board many times, but our go to is Cozumel and Mr. Sanchos. We always now skip PR. Find first of all the ship docks late and we are settled in on the ship. Nice when the ship isn't crowded.
  6. We sailed on the Edge and soon the Apex. Which I thought was identical to the Beyond. The suite lounge on the Apex is much bigger as is the suite deck. My neice and nephew were recently on the Apex an loved it. The sky suite was great, plenty of storage and a true balcony. So many do not like the infinite balcony cabins. Say just like a window room with a window that opens, sometimes if not closed by the captain for weather or other reasons. When we boarded to Edge we were ushered to the suite lounge. Everything went so smoothly. Hope the same for our Apex trip. IMO nothing beats a suite on these ships. If I had to book a balcony, which I might as rates continue to climb, I would opt for an aft balcony cabin. You get a true balcony. Thanks again for sharing.
  7. Thank you for sharing. We love Mr. Sanchos in cozumel and always book it pre-cruise. Also, we will be on the Apex end of December and the first week in January. Is Rooftop grill covered? We do not like direct sun as my DH has had skin CA. We also do stay at the Riverside Hotel. Love to walk around and window shop on Los Olas Blvd. The choice of places to dine is wonderful. We have stayed at many hotels in Dania Beach for a few dollars less, but Riverside is now our go to hotel. We stay in the old section of the hotel and the rates are significantly cheaper.
  8. I am not at all negatively impacted by what other wear- However to say that for example, a dressy top and nice slacks or a skirt weighs more than less formal attire puzzles me. Also, many men wear their sports jackets on the airplane, and other attire weights the same. But that is me. Of course it is a personal choice. Also I find the ships cool at night as the AC is always on high, so jackets are actually helpful.
  9. I don't understand why people have a problem with dressing up? We dress to attend weddings and formal occasions at home. Is it truly a big deal for a man to wear a jacket, shirt and tie? A lady to wear a skirt and blouse, dressy pants and tops or a dress? I had enough of "stretch pants" and jogging type clothes during covid. Time to celebrate! Perhaps we all need to get new clothes a size or two larger!
  10. Why not move now? If other cabins available grab one. The "rule" is cabins above and cabins below, midship are the best. Why deal with negative possibilities?
  11. Looks great Will be on the Apex New Years and the following week. I agree about the prices. We always book a suite and sometimes try move up- however for our two cruises the price is insane for us to consider moving up. We will stay put. We do have a couple of cruises booked for 2023- but I think after those that are booked, if prices continue to soar, we will book balcony cabins and enjoy the elite plus perks. Have a great cruise! Thanks for sharing.
  12. More then a great meal. Very comfortable seating- wait service. No crowds or kids running around. IMO so many shore X's are crowded and not worth the charge- people spend money in casino- so do what you like. Worth it to many. It's your vacation.
  13. Yes it is included. Also the new rib restaurant is included. They give you a generous allowance to use at that restaurant.
  14. We love the reflection. Dine at the Lawn Club Grill for dinner. IMO best speciality restaurant on board. Enjoy your cruise. Also, love the ABC islands.
  15. Anybody know when the decorations are removed? We will be on the Apex for New Years and the following week.
  16. You can get excellent coffee at cafe al baccio. They open between 6:00 and 7:00 AM daily. They do all of the frothy coffees. Enjoy
  17. Hope you had fun. Thanks for sharing. Honestly I expected the ship to be nicer. While I don't like gaudy, I like a little more lavish.
  18. How things have changed from the Edge. We were on the Edge when it just was entered into Celebrity service. Eden was a joke- characters bringing you food and acting like this was a disney ship. Food not great. Glad to hear that it has been revised. Going on Apex soon and will try it.
  19. Same used items sold on Royal. Also some watches are also used. The "fancy term" is pre-owned. or vintage. But they are second hand. Yes, pricing is high. IMO not worth it.
  20. Look at the actual cost- might consider just upgrading. Move Up isn't always a good deal. If you are in an inside cabin, and want to move to an oceanview or balcony, you have a much better chance then being upgraded to a suite. Good luck. As others said sometimes three months ahead if you go directly to the move up site.
  21. I do not think RCCL is trying to compete with Carnival. Carnival is a cheesy cruise line , Royal much more upscale. I think both Celebrity and RCCL attract all age groups and if you want variety, you can find it for all. RCCL is a great cruise for multigenerational families. Celebrity also has amenities for kids. The no smoking policy and limited announcement policies are great on celebrity. Royal has more bells and whistles for the young!
