Cruise Stops in Orlando and Miami
SplashOfWater replied to rjrpar's topic in Royal Caribbean International
There are times when another Royal ship is docked at Terminal 1 (Harmony or Independence). Then Oasis docks at Terminal 6 during her port of call (not Terminal 5, sorry about that). If Terminal 1 is open, then Oasis will dock there. -
Cruise Stops in Orlando and Miami
SplashOfWater replied to rjrpar's topic in Royal Caribbean International
There are several restaurants (with bars) near Terminal 1. Probably a 10 minute walk. I haven't been to any of them so I can't make a recommendation. You might try posting on the Florida Departures forum: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/386-florida-departures/ -
Canada and New England is a great fall cruise. No guarantee you will see the foliage changing but lots of great places to visit.

Cruise Stops in Orlando and Miami
SplashOfWater replied to rjrpar's topic in Royal Caribbean International
https://www.portcanaveral.com/Cruise/Cruise-Lines-Schedules There is a PDF link on this page to view the upcoming cruise ship schedule for Port Canaveral. You can see which ships are in port on the day you make your call. It won't definitively tell you what terminal you'll be docked at, but can give you an idea if you are the only Royal ship in port that day. -
Cruise Stops in Orlando and Miami
SplashOfWater replied to rjrpar's topic in Royal Caribbean International
For Orlando, it depends which ships are in port that day. If you are coming in on Oasis for a port call on the same day that Harmony or Independence is docked at Terminal 1, then you will dock over by Terminal 5. Still in the same general area, not like it's miles away or anything. If Terminal 1 is open, then you will dock there. Not sure about Miami. -
We bid in the fair range for a suite, but received the "your request will be reviewed onboard" email yesterday (we're a few days away from sailing). Our sailing disappeared from Royal's website several days ago, leading me to believe it was sold out. I think more people started booking cabins when Royal relaxed the vaccination requirements. I am not optimistic about the upgrade, but we are perfectly happy with the cabin we booked and will enjoy the cruise either way!

Oasis of the Seas Central Park Balcony?
SplashOfWater replied to smokeykat's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We had a CP balcony on Harmony deck 12. You could hear noise during the day from the pools two decks above but it wasn't bad. It was very quiet at night. We sat out on our balcony and watched the activity at Chops Grille and the Trellis bar. Make sure you draw your curtains (especially at night) since the rooms across from you can see in. We will be in a CP balcony again on Harmony later this month, but on deck 11. For us, the extra expense for an ocean view balcony was not worth it. We spend most of the day outside of our cabin, but enjoy being able to sit outside on the balcony for a bit to relax. -

Some mid-cruise observations on Allure
SplashOfWater replied to doppelganger2621's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I'm glad to hear Allure has exceeded your expectations. We sailed on Harmony last month (our first Oasis class ship) after years of telling ourselves we would never, ever sail on one of those huge ships. Well, we loved it! The food was great, the service was excellent, and the staff were friendly. The ship never felt crowded because there are so many different venues for guests to spread out. We've booked another cruise on Harmony for September. Enjoy the rest of your cruise! -
Boardwalk vs Central Park
SplashOfWater replied to lulabelle's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We had a Central Park balcony on Harmony last month. It can be noisy during the day from the pool deck above and your balcony can be in direct sunlight. In the evening, there was piano or guitar music in Central Park, which was nice when enjoying an evening drink on the balcony. The balcony is also a great people-watching spot. We enjoyed it and have booked another Central Park balcony in September. -

Our iHealth tests arrived yesterday with an 8/11/22 expiration date. Glad I read this thread otherwise I wouldn't have known about the extension. -

Fall New England/Canada Cruise
SplashOfWater replied to cruisinelmo's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
We did Canada/New England B2B the last week of Sept and first week of Oct 2017. The week before we left, we heard the temps in Montreal had been in the 80s. But for our cruise the weather was much more like fall: 40s and 50s. Anticipate sunny days and rainy days. I wore a fleece jacket for the cool days and found that to be sufficient for this cruise. There was no colorful foliage on our cruise. The summer had been too warm, so the foliage turned later in the fall. Since you're leaving in mid-Oct, you might have a better chance with the foliage. 🤞 We were on the NCL Dawn in an Oceanview cabin. We did not miss having a balcony. Ours was a port-intensive cruise so most of our time was spent exploring the areas that we visited.
