We will be sailing out of Tampa later this month (Terminal 2, I think) and are thinking about using the Valet service. Do you know if they park the cars in the garage or if they use an outdoor lot?

I saved $600 on an upgrade for a cruise later this month and $230 on a cruise for 2023.

Any Upgrade Bids Accepted Recently?
SplashOfWater replied to rad798's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Great advice! Prices dropped today on my Nov 27 Dawn cruise. I upgraded directly with NCL from an Oceanview (OA) to Family Suite (SP) without balcony for $1100 total. Well worth it for a 14-day cruise. -
Are the Junior Suites J4 Near Elevator Noisy
SplashOfWater replied to Peachestravels's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We've stayed in a J4 junior suite on Independence, close to the elevators, and never noticed any noise from the elevators. -

Haven dinner dress code-worried if we get upgrade
SplashOfWater replied to BatchawanaBabe's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
There is no fancy dress code in the Haven restaurant. We won a Haven bid in January and wore shorts in the restaurant both day and night...no problem. You will love the Haven! -
Are ships back to 100% capacity?

As others have stated, 100% is based on double occupancy. -
Are ships back to 100% capacity?
SplashOfWater replied to gizbug's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes, back to 100%. Our Harmony sailing on September 11 had 5500 passengers. -
YES! We loved Jozay and Patti when we were on the Dawn.
-
We sailed on the Dawn in 2017 and 2018, and we will be sailing on her again next month. She doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the newer and larger ships. So, if water slides and race cars are at the top of your list, then she's not the ship for you. If you are more interested in the itinerary then the smaller ships like the Dawn are perfect. They can get into more ports than the large ships and they typically sail longer itineraries. The one thing we don't like about the Dawn is the lack of a forward-facing observation lounge.

It's open, but there is some covered seating along the sides. I think the Solarium bar is also covered.

Here's our Harmony show schedule from Sep 11, 2022. Not sure if you have the same itinerary. Harmony Shows Sep 11 2022.PDF

Boarding early if in a Suite?
SplashOfWater replied to kpark895's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We were in a Junior Suite on Independence out of Port Canaveral earlier this month. We had a 10:30am arrival time (which was the earliest). Our Set Sail pass had "Suite" printed on it. That's all we showed to get in the Suites lines and in the Suites waiting area (with the comfy furniture). The first to board the ship were Suites & Pinnacles. This included the Junior Suites. -

Harmony 9/11-9/18/22 Quick report
SplashOfWater replied to ALWAYS CRUZIN's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We were also on this cruise. Over 5500 passengers! More kids than we expected too for mid-September. We sailed on Harmony in May and felt that both times the arrival process was a bit chaotic. This time we had a 10:30am arrival time. There were separate sections outside for 10:30am, 11am, etc., but no one was verifying the arrival time on your paperwork, so you could get in whatever line you felt like. The security line inside was insanely long too while we waited for it to open up. But once it got moving the wait wasn't too bad. Check-in inside the terminal went quickly and it wasn't long before they started the boarding process. -
Harmony 9/18 changed from E to W Carib
SplashOfWater replied to alyssamma's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We just got off Harmony today and we were feeling the early effects of Fiona on Monday and Tuesday (sea days). Long rolling swells. Bonine to the rescue! -
We just got off of Harmony and for the most part the MDR food was good. A couple of thumbs-downs were the Prime Rib (on the first night) and the Lamb Chops. They were tough. The thumbs-ups were the Beef Tenderloin (very tender), the Jumbo Tiger Shrimp and the Lobster Tails. There was supposed to be baked potato with the lobster tails, but our waiter said the chef was substituting yellow rice. You could request a baked potato. Not sure if there was a shortage of potatoes (Day 6). We were not really impressed with the offerings in the Windjammer for lunch. For such a large ship, there were not that many choices. We found ourselves grabbing pizza for Sorrento's or a sandwich from Park Cafe.

Priority Boarding, How has that shaken out?
SplashOfWater replied to RCCL Fan's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Priority security and check-in lines at Port Canaveral for Independence on Sep 5. There was also an announcement about priority boarding by C&A status (down to Diamond, I think) and Key. -
Current Captains Continued
SplashOfWater replied to CCHelp 's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Independence 9/5 we had Captain Marshall Bartlett. -
I think 10:30am is the earliest boarding time (at least for Independence and Harmony out of Port Canaveral). I just got a 10:30am for our October cruise, and I checked-in around 6:15am. Use the Royal app on your phone because you can just go in and select the boarding time, and go back later and finish the rest of the check-in. There is a priority order for boarding, with Suites, Pinnacles, Diamond+, Diamond (I think) and Key boarding before the time-slot boarding begins. I'm not sure if wheelchair boards earlier.
