Thank you for this information. We are 62 days out so will apply for the shareholder credit next week.
  2. We discovered that getting on the ship as late as possible worked for us. No line to get checked in. Go straight to your cabin which will be ready. Have a good lunch on shore that will better than anything you will get on the ship and avoid the stressful chaos of the crowded Lido buffet. Unsolicited advice.....book any small boat excursion to any glaciers that you go to. Book any air (helicopter, airplane) excursion you can. All will be very expensive and need to be booked ASAP.
  3. About 5-6 years ago we were on The Legend in an aft wrap cabin to Alaska. Fantastic cabin and cruise. BUT..........we froze to death in our cabin when the temperature got cold outside. The rest of the ship was not too bad but in the aft of the ship, the heat did not work very well.
  4. Thanks for posting this picture. Good to know.
  5. If you call or contact Oceana and request the brochures be stopped, they will do so. I have not received a single brochure since I contacted them.
  6. Thank you very much for this information. Looking for a way to get to the port in Trieste to Venice.
  7. Also have an upcoming transfer with Rome Cabs and interested in how much, or if, to tip.
  8. Assuming we do not die attempting the climb. May explore the town first and depending on how much wine is consumed, attempt the climb. I am 70 but in good shape, so hope to reach the top. Thanks for the advice.
  9. Thanks for the tip on where to get single serve condiments. They come in handy in other places besides Oceania restaurants.
  10. Are you saying there is no salsa or hot sauce on The Riviera? We like it on our eggs in the morning. For our upcoming cruise do we need to bring our own? Where did you buy the little packets?
  11. Have done similar cruises that time of the year out of New Orleans and as others have said..........first night may or may not be cold, or could be hot. Will warm up after that. You are going to the Tropics. It does not get cold there. Going down The Mississippi River is a neat experience, no matter what the weather. Enjoy.
  12. We are looking for a good "skip the line" tour of The Vatican. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
  13. Hope you are wrong at least until April 7, when we board The Riviera.
  14. If you are remotely interested in any of these cabins would suggest the following: 1) obtain the services of one of the top Oceania travel agents. 2)Tell them to book your desired cabin before it comes on sale. 3)Pray to sweet Jesus that you will get you requested cabin. 4)You will not get your desired cabin so go ahead and pick something else. Someone that desires your cabin and has been sailing since before you were born has already booked it. Bottom line ....in my experience, the best cabins are almost impossible to book, at any price. Good luck.
  15. Where I come from non-alcoholic wine is called grape juice.
  16. Love your video as we will be on the Riviera in April. You present a different angle that is most enjoyable. Some of the expressions on your mother's face in some of the dining shots are priceless. Loved it.
  17. Thank you for posting since we will be on The Riviera in April and partaking of the the beverages.
  18. Thank you for your reply. The $25 corkage fee seems to be the best alcohol deal Oceania has to offer. We plan to enjoy some great Italian wine at dinner but............did not want to ruffle feathers.
  19. Perhaps off topic..........our next cruise will be in the Mediterranean, leaving from Italy. We plan to purchase some nice wine to enjoy in our suite/balcony. Would also like to maybe, take a bottle to one of the dining rooms, and pay $25 corkage. Will be our first Oceania cruise so is this frowned upon, unusual, many others bring wine??? Thank you for any advice.
  20. The cove balconies are some of the best cabins at sea in my opinion. BUT......do not get one under the galley (can be noisy) or the ones toward the front (spray can be a problem if rough seas). Carnival ships are "fun" but do not expect 5 star food or accommodations.
  21. The same screen comes up in my booked cruises. Assumed this was an option to pre pay gratuities. Had nothing to do with the beverage packages. Confusing why it appears in the Drink Packages menu.
  22. Great review as always. Always excited when one of your new stories pop up. You tell it like it is, the good, bad and ugly. As you, and others have pointed out, some of the guests these days on Carnival are not desirable to travel with. Sure the majority do not fall into that category. I love Carnival but............since I can afford it, will take my travel dollars elsewhere for the time being. Love your stories. Love you. Will always follow no matter where you go.
