  1. I'm guessing that a guest with clout staying in the big suite complained loudly and got a change of chair. Wonder if they are in every large suite? Phil
  2. It's hard to believe that it's been that long with this awful covid. Glad you are settling down and good luck with the downsize. Maybe we will meet again on an Azamara cruise. We were a pretty good trivia team 🙂 Phil
  3. Corinne, I have thought of you often and wondered how you are doing. I'm very happy to read you have another cruise booked. I was on Quest in July and had an amazing time. Have fun and take care. Phil
  4. Yes, mine are right too and I followed Riocca's instructions and the spurious loyalty number has now disappeared. 👍 Phil
  5. I think you are being very benevolent! I've not been on Onward so can't comment first hand, but take it what others have said. This is not a premium experience and to be fobbed off on the arrival of replacements just makes it worse. Azamara, stop faffing and just get it done. The other ships are fine so they need to bring the sister in line. Phil
  6. I watched it for a while, but didn't find it of any value and switched off well before the end. I couldn't work out how to turn live comments off and got fed up with the Ana Navarro fan club flashing up all the time. Phil
  7. I'm sorry to be a doom merchant, but I was in 8070 on Quest and requested a move after the first day. The cabin is directly below the bussing station in Windows Cafe and has a tiled floor. It was the subject of noise at all times of the day. If you can change then I would. Phil
  8. Just a little on the design and layout of CW vs CO. Aside from the location as others have mentioned, the main difference in the cabin is that it's slightly smaller, both the living area and the bedroom (bathroom is identical). The bedroom patio door to the veranda in the CO doesn't open whereas it does in the CW. There's an additional big round side window in the CO bedroom. Also there is an adjoining door on the deck 6 COs to the oceanview cabin next door. And that changes the set up of the room slightly re the bed set up. The verandas in the COs are quite a bit smaller than the CWs and as aliaschief says they can be breezy when under sail depending upon speed and wind direction. If it's bumpy.you'll notice a lot more movement at the front of the ship and noise when the anchor is dropped and raised. Having said all that I have enjoyed the COs and it can be fun watching the goings on as you come into port. The COs are priced less than the CWs. I'd take a CW over a CO, but either are nice spaces. I wouldn't take a CO on a transatlantic for example. If it's rocky it can be brutal. Both the movement and the sound of the waves crashing on the hull. I love the aft view of the CWs and am fine with the vibration there (only noticeable when the ship is moving faster with three engines are used and this might never happen on your itinerary, depending upon what it is). Phil
  9. We have booked the Kowloon Shangri-La for a couple of nights pre-cruise on Journey next March. It's close to the ship and gets nice reviews. Phil
  10. I agree with you. It's just a shame that such a marketing ploy (which it obviously is) is being used at a time when the Azamara back office is in such disarray. Like Riocca I'll watch it just to see what is said and will see what my roll eyes count is! At least it's not PST so I don't have to stay up too late. Lol Phil
  11. Different situation, but they'd do it and I'd have no problem with that either. Phil
  12. The point I was making was in response to a poster who was giving information that you could order off either menu in the Specialty Restaurants which really isn't fair. If one wants to eat the Prime C menu then go to Prime C. As I said, the odd dish is fine. I've done it myself, but i wouldn't come here and broadcast order what you like. Of course what one actually does on the ship is a different matter. Phil
  13. OK, I'll try again. From my experience it's not fair to the staff or other guests to go to one of the Specialty Restaurants and order off the other menu. For the odd item, yes they'll oblige, but it's an inconvenience for the wait staff. Phil
  14. If it was me I'd make a good mention of meeting up for sailaway somewhere for those that want to put faces to names. If people want to come then they will. Easy. No organising necessary. For those that may have booked tours together then sharing an email address if they are happy to do that. I've set up a separate email account for Cruise Critic chat to reduce the chances of spam. I left meet and greets behind a while ago, but have met some lovely people through them. Now I've done enough rubber necking and happy to do my own thing 😁 Phil
  15. As others have said, Egypt is visa on arrival and the ship will handle it. Phil
  16. I'm not going to name names here because it's not fair when they have no way to reply, but suffice to say I have had very good experiences and some not so good. They have tough targets to achieve and sometimes it shows. Enough said. Phil
  17. They used to exist as guest cabins, but are now used for crew/guest entertainers only. Phil
  18. That's great. Glad you got it all sorted. It does make a huge difference when you get someone who is diligent and obviously helping you as a guest to make it work. That's what loyalty is all about. Phil
  19. Anyone working in the travel industry should not indicate they are getting interline rates. I have never met anyone on a cruise who does this because the are requested not to discuss it. Phil
  20. I'm not going to stress about it. There's no point and I've probably "lost" more points than many here. It will sort itself out. Maybe by the time they take delivery of their new ship 😁 Phil
  21. @Riocca that last photo is just pure ignorance. I'm afraid these sorts of people are everywhere, but they make my blood boil with their all about me attitude. I try to get over it, but sadly was brought up in a very different way to have respect for others. Phil
  22. It's a conundrum for sure. I wouldn't like a ship that's too big and which can't get into the ports Azamara do now. Of course ship design has come on quite a bit since the R ships were built, not least the green credentials which I see as a big driver going forward. I'm not clued up on the other ships so am not sure what those luxury vessels were able to achieve. It's fun to speculate. Phil
  23. The difference is that this is coming from the top of the tree. Q and As answered by those on the ships are purely speculative, in spite of what might have been intimated. We will just have see what pans out. It has always been said that they won't go larger. I can see that they may have to do that whilst keeping the intimacy and service as much as possible. I love the Azamara ships, but if there is one thing they don't do very well it's to accommodate when the weather is poor and people are kept indoors. The pool area is a big dud in the middle of the ship. They need a covered pool amongst a number of other things. Phil
  24. You made me check mine! I'm now at zero points and an Adventurer. Azamara giveth and Azamara taketh away 😁 Phil
  25. That's why I say wait. I've been on a number of cruises that are Perry Golf and have not paid this kind of price. Maybe when the Perry Golf spots have been well sold the price will come down. The ship isn't full of golfers. I'm not certain of the number because you'd never know they were there! Phil
