  1. That is for sure.. but that is a whole 'nother discussion! 😁
  2. In all those random scenarios, change your table... problem solved. Really.. you've had multiple occasions of 'people calling their husband out for eating more than 1/2 of an English Muffin'? If that's your particular experience, I truly feel sorry for you! Can you offer an example of an 'inappropriate question'? We've never had one.. Praying doesn't bother us, we're pretty accepting of most things..
  3. Only 67? Okay, closed minds will sink ships as we used to say in the Navy. 🙈
  4. Should have booked sooner is all I can say here.. 😉
  5. Most of them are relatively new. We have had cooking demonstrations on every one of our recent sailings.
  6. From our 25+ years cruising experience (YMMV), incompatibility with table mates is an extremely rare occurrence. And if it ever occurs (which it probably won't), you can easily change your table. IOHO, you are basing your dining decisions on some perceived potential situation that will likely never happen. Spread your wings a bit, reserve a large top table 6+, and enjoy the wonderful experience of meeting new people, some that you will be friends with for many years!
  7. In case of what, if you don't mind my asking?
  8. A lot of things can ruin many a holiday... mine and yours!
  9. We all know, of course, how subjective food preferences and likes are, so this is merely your subjective opinion of HAL's pizza. There is also a huge difference between the pizza offered in the Lido buffet on HAL, as compared to the pizza from their 'NY Pizza' venue (on the ships that have it). We love their NY Pizza offerings, and consider it some of the best pizza at sea.
  10. Or two nights in any of the restaurants, it's entirely up to you. We agree with you on Tamarind, it's our favorite restaurant on the ships that have it... even over the PG.
  11. Same with us, but we always get a table for 6 because we enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them.
  12. We love fixed dining for a variety of reasons, and have had this option on all of our cruises over the years. We enjoy getting to know our table mates, our servers and dining staff. The dining staff gets to know us too, including our likes, dislikes and preferences. As just one example, having your favorite glass of wine delivered to the table as soon as you're seated before even ordering it. We get to know them by their first names, learn about their lives and families back home, etc. And they get to know us the same way. I could go on and on, but all of this interaction results in wonderful dining experiences for the cruise, and long-lasting memories. In more than 25 years of fixed dining cruising, we have only 'not connected' with our table mates on one occasion, and were quickly switched to another table after consulting with the dining room manager...no problem. We highly recommend traditional, fixed dining 🙂
  13. I didn't have the CA in my original booking with HIA, and when I saw that CA was offered later with a new HIA promo for my same sailing, I called HAL and they added it to my booking right away, no problem. 🙂
  14. The HIA package includes 1, 2 or 3 nights specialty dining depending on length of cruise. https://www.hollandamerica.com/en_US/deals/have-it-all/have-it-all-upgrade.html So for your 14-day cruise you would get 2 nights specialty dining.
  15. You can still pre-reserve your MDR accommodations by choosing traditional fixed dining (early or late) at time of booking. 😉
  16. The article you reference is noted as 'updated 12/8/19'. Their policy has changed since then; no more 'free' bottles.. 😏
  17. Yet another 'splashy announcement', to quote a recent a recent post.. This time HAL! 😁 https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/28050-holland-america-line-simplifies-covid-19-procedures.html?fbclid=IwAR3v1h_mgV1_6_Sp1PJ5vlTOKtVMaNX6oc738-wLOa4iJjBLQ5fna23gnos
  18. Yes, that is where all OBC is noted, on the booking confirmation under OBC. But didn't the PDF file come attached to an email? That is the 'confirmation email' people are referring to.
