  1. Just 2 decades ago I was parking so close to the Ship I could throw a penny from my Balcony and hit it. Was out in open, parked in front of Ship in Miami. I got home from Cruise 6am 9/11/01, lucky as was just me and 3 Kids, 3, 5 & 10. Unfortunately was back in Florida during the Anthrax scare. Even Disney was searching coat pockets, strollers and Diaper bags. Then was getting off a Cruise when got to Airport, take my shoes off? Was day of Shoe Bomber and took over 3hrs to get threw check in, not even security. Traveling and Cruising was cheap really then, can see why
  2. Havent done it in while but use to Fly out of MIA when Cruised out of Port Everglades and reverse at least once a yr. Most time was due to cheaper flight or no connections... Flying out of FLL that early, I wouldn't. At least once a yr Ships I was on didnt even start letting passengers off until 730 or after. Also what date of Flight, near a Holiday? Have seen lines out the door at FLL around Xmas, Dec 20-23, Thanksgiving, Mar/Apr(Spring Break). My flights are always after noon, one year after they missed Flight I heard passengers told at Gates they'll be lucky get home by Xmas, this on Dec 22. Post CV planes are now filled, few extras for stand by. Sure most time early flights will work out, just be ready if they don't
  3. Trying to remember wasn't there a Spring Break Rule about one at a time, this years ago talked about on here. Then I was talking with some Senior Staff and they were telling me they were instructed from above to crack down on sharing packages with a passenger not having drink Package. Been a while since I seen a package canceled though he told me still happens one in a while
  4. Use to Cruise ever Sept, at least 1/3 my Cruises they had drain Pool due to Weather/Waves/Hurricanes. At least Radiance is back in action. Looking forward to Boarding her in couple weeks for B2B inc the Panama Canal Agree, never been Gross in my Experience. On Serenade since Labor Day, been eating in WJ at least twice a Day and still no issues. Though offerings/Menus(inc the WJ) are still better on these longer Sailings then short cruises of 7nites or less
  5. Well said. Shoot costs of almost everything is up, Rent where I'm at in 2015 was $925, now same place is $2200. Royal is filling every Cabin at higher prices, no reason to charge less
  6. On Serenade now, 4th Cruise and only twice haven't had sign so far. Get 3 Drinks at once, signing 3 times on different slips
  7. Yeah the Towels had weird smell to them couple weeks ago, well thry were new. Now been washed couple times no issue, White and Bright as you stated, same with sheets
  8. I had to change after Cabins first couple Cruises also, though worth it 8168 to 9256 for the Repo. First one had old, 9256 has new, was watching couple workers going in few Cabins last couple days to work on their Shower Fixtures and behind the panels in the Halls. Saw a Bucket in Hall 2hrs ago, water leaking from Ceiling. Oops!
  9. Shoot they also have front Conference room filled to ceiling right up to the Door by Main Theater, can't even step in there. I dont ever remember that room above atrium being used like they do on couple other Radiance Class, though they did use to have the Aerial Shows on Serenade and Brilliance until 5yrs ago
  10. Thanks, I assumed was Wi Fi wasnt going guess though. I remember when they first got Computers back in the 90's. Back then took about 8 minutes to Download a picture. Onboard for my 3wk, thinking might stay on after get to Boston if a Good Cabin was to pop up in next couple days
  11. Yes, these are now thicker mattresses by about 5inchs. use to Cruise beds being lower and now they about same height as an average home set. They were doing touch up every week while in Tampa with multiple shore hi/lows, restaining all railings, massive rewiring in hall cielings and replacing in cabin "Coolers". Have had couple dozen contractors staying onboard Serenade last 3 Cruises
  12. 3 Blocks earned in 2022, were out of Stock and mailed to my home. Before CV and in Stock was 50/50 if I got them that Cruise or the next
  13. Few yrs ago we had 6 Medical Emergency's(that was announced) during our 11 Nite Cruise. First one happened before we even left Ft Lauderdale. Let one off outside another Port, had speed up to next the Port for 3 others. Happens. First one I experienced Coast Guard Helo picked him up in a Basket over the Pool Deck, had to clear all the Deck chairs and had all passengers stay inside. This happened in the 90's. Few days ago we went from 13kts to 22, I guessed was due to Emergency and about 5hrs later Capt came on to confirm. We got back outside Tampa at 1020pm, they got patient off and we puttered around outside the Bay until early am.
  14. Same, stopped doing Selfie about 5yrs ago, tired of them retaking it anyway. Last week cost me all of 10 seconds extra and was still second onboard after Key/Suites
  15. All my Changes over last 35yrs were after I was on the Ship.
  16. Fluke. Boarded last week and Health Questions were on my App 72hrs before Sailing. Sure nothing will change in that time. Got to Pier they said, "See you already answered, good to go"
  17. Agree, BC and ML should be fine. Was a Single Parent raising 3 Kids when we Cruised along with first 2 I'd bring her Death Certificate
  18. Though it's Different if Cruise is Open Loop or Closed Loop. For a Decade I just used my Enhanced DL and BC for all my Open Loop Cruises. Finally got my Passport in Jan2020
  19. Yep, doing/done 3 Panama Canal Cruises, jumped 75% to 100% higher, now sold out. Price paid for 12n Repo next week same, was really inexpensive compared to what was pre-CV. All these Booked minutes after release. With SOLO prices still scoring on Royal really cant afford to "Jump Ship" yet. Thank you C&A...
  20. 3 Days ago I got to Tampa Port 10:30 for 11am check in, was on Ship 10:45. All Rooms were ready at 1pm. Doing a B4B
  21. I done many B4B and some whole Sailings I don't step off the Ship and this on older Ships. Like have the Ship(for most part) to myself
  22. Closer to when they know when/where it will be. A Week out, not yet. Most time I've had Changes it's after onboard
  23. Agree, never issue dry cleaning, so far anyway. They do great job on Pressing items. As said HOT WATER washing, seen fading and wear on multiple items myself...
  24. I've used all 3 docks in less the 10 months just on Royal. Happens at times, as said depending on how many Ships that day and Brand
