  1. Everything's on the market - at the right price. Given Celebrity's long history, the fact most competitors have been viable for many years since, and no sign of any issues prior to sale, there's no reason they would not have continued fine as a going concern. But RCL made an attractive offer and, like many now, many are happy to cash out for the right offer at the right time.
  2. They’ll probably roll it out on the next leg out of Sydney on edge, as that’s only a couple of days away.
  3. They’ll definitely do another cleaning in AU before entering NZ, especially with all the warmer waters we’ve been through since then. Pacific Explorer had a clean in AU just before the crossing, but still wound up with 4 small pieces of life on the hull when she reached NZ - which ultimately was enough to be rejected from entering.
  4. Something really wrong with the provisioning of these cruises. First two legs there was only 1 cider available -and only strongbow. Since Singapore even that has run out - now they have 0 ciders! So much for being a “premium” cruise line. Oddly beers have increased to their most yet at 22. I’ve no idea whats going on with their provisioning.
  5. I haven’t seen the OP say they were entitled to it. They have called out there were hints about it, and they believe something would have been appropriate. I am of a like mind. I get the impression that the issue is that there was _nothing_, not about what it specifically should have been.
  6. Not sure about boarding delays at Singapore but having experienced the b2b delays, which were mostly due to 2 ships at one terminal and new Singapore arrival card procedures, would expect Sydney to be similar to normal. 1) Sydney OPT only has capacity for 1 ship, so this is normal load. 2) While Edge class is new to Syd onboarding process is same as for Solstice class and numbers are similar. 3) Boarding/immigration checks at Syd for au and international ports out of there same as usual.
  7. It’s new… but on the newer ships rather than policy. Edge class all have jacket stocks at the muster stations (makes sense personally as what if the shows on and dining, then all have to rush back to upper decks to collect then come back down to muster decks). Older ships didn’t have sufficient space assigned so while they have some at muster, their process relies on stateroom stocks.
  8. Just covering as it may have been missed- capt said it will be done in this leg out of Singapore, when we cross.
  9. Yes, didn’t expect the 5:30 wake up call there! No getting back to sleep when they finished just before 6. But a positive start once you got over the unexpected ⏰.
  10. None in Edge either so it’s also not an E class thing either.
  11. After the last cruise I gave some feedback about the substandard B2b information given to Ss guests now, in that non-suite guests got a seminar, whereas we didn’t get anything now. Pleased to say they took that onboard and we st least were invited to the seminar for general passengers this morning, which was informative. Agree with Norwaylady that the loss of butlers has been especially detrimental this cruise, given all the one off and custom procedures, and first time for the ship and so on. Not sure if you saw it but yesterday’s presentation with the captain was very informative regarding India, where he spoke about all the issues there for about 20min. Still believe this should have been given to all, and earlier, since it affected all, but good to be informed on most of what happened nonetheless.
  12. For clarification full engines is around 24 knots. We are only going around 21.3 which is actually the planned speed before the delay occurred (the capt announced it as the plan at 4 yesterday when on time plan was expected). We also ran at this full speed when we were late from Greece to make time to meet Suez booking. Obviously this time they were happy to use the extended time we have in Sri Lanka as the buffer, and just change all the bookings people have rather than spend the extra dollars to try to keep to schedule.
  13. The premium charge is only applied to non-suites. This is the version of the form we got. Regarding coffee/tea our room attendant has asked a number of times if we want any, but we haven’t at the time, and when we’ve tried to call him, has been difficult to reach. But I think you can get it through your attendant if you have a regular schedule or times match up.
  14. As someone in a suite both legs our steward was unexpectedly very late last night, but has been fine for timing other nights. Based on that I suspect this delay will only be a one off for norwaylady.
  15. I understand your initial impression but would add a couple of further things, as it looks modelled on the RCL version. - RCL increases the price after it was introduced, and if this is popular enough I would expect the same to happen ie it won’t stay too cheap for long - the RCL version only has limited numbers sold per cruise, and does sell out; again I’d expect the same here rather than it being available to all willing to pay.
  16. Haven’t even received that outline yet, but as it’s 4 days away theres still time.
  17. There isn't much. The celebrity elite drinks menu is both very limited and 'old school' in its selection.
  18. Since the following Oct 11 cruise is still for sale (so not suggesting a redeployment), and the previous Sep 19 cruise is almost sold out (inside only left), it's pretty likely that it's just sold out for now.
  19. Yes, Potts Point is a nice area if you have the opportunity to explore. One you could consider is Macleay St Laundrette, which has been around for decades, and is in the more residential area. If you do go with that plan and visit them, and want to take a walk while you wait, you could head down to Elizabeth Bay, through to Arthur McElhone Reserve (there's a side path beside 18 Macleay St), then either visit Elizabeth Bay House depending on day and if that appeals, or head on to either Beare Park or Rushcutter's Bay Park - both of which have scenic harbour and yacht views though RBP is better (more expansive), then head back possibly via either Bayswater Road or Roslyn St if you want to do a loop. Of course, there are many cafes around Macleay and Victoria Sts if you prefer to sit and wait instead.
  20. For convenience - and when you're only visiting for a short while, is probably the most important - I'd suggest this as the closest, very close by, and with a fair value offering. Sydney Dry Cleaning and Laundry in The Rocks (washontherocks.com.au) Potts Point - and Ultimo in the other direction - will be the residential areas with more laundromats, but with travel time, finding the location, setting up and collecting, you probably won't be able to do much else during the day. If it were me, I'd go for the above and then have the flexibility and convenience to do and explore more, and still be in the city with more options. Unless you didn't want to do anything else on your day in Sydney.
  21. At least he admits upfront it is purely speculative. He doesn't get it, and some of his predictions are definitely NOT going to happen.
  22. So you believe there is a sizeable market out there that wants to pay more and get less?
  23. Or following the modern corporate strategy of double down and hope the complaints blow over.
