  1. I don’t think UK is changing requirements, but Europe is scheduled to implement ETIAS next year.
  2. There are four of us, with luggage, so we would need an XL. Price-wise, that would be about the same as the Carnival transfer, so guaranteed arrival would be our choice. Or maybe I could find a helicopter! That would be fun. Nope, the luggage kills that idea.
  3. We are on next week's sailing. We will be transferring from London on Sunday, the day of departure. We currently have tickets both for the train (1 hour) and the Carnival transfer (3 hours). There is a train strike planned for Saturday, so Sunday's trains may be delayed. I guess that's also important information for anyone debarking on Sunday hoping to get to London. Anyway, I'm not sure yet which way we'll travel. I know the Carnival transfer is the safer bet, but I was really looking forward to the high speed train.
  4. Sorry to hear this. I hope things improve for you. We will be boarding next cruise.
  5. Unless things have changed in the past three years, the connecting cabin, ie. Family Suite, only gets suite amenities if the occupants are under 12. I know this because we tried to book this way with my teenagers.
  6. This is exactly what travel insurance is for. I would have been shopping in every port! Kudos for Celebrity for helping out.
  7. It's been a few years since I disembarked in Baltimore, but having used facial recognition in Miami and Bayonne, it certainly seems to speed things along for those with passports. https://www.baltimoresun.com/maryland/baltimore-city/cng-co-face-biometrics-port-of-baltimore-20220719-oi4w74m6rbfcbbn5kyx7yhde6e-story.html
  8. Thanks for this. We are going the opposite way -- London to Dover on 7/31. I just booked Carnival transfers from Victoria Station just in case. We can cancel them within 24 hours if the strike is called off.
  9. I did! We got 11:30. We have also booked a canal cruise at 10:00 and the Van Gogh Museum for 1:30. Going to be a busy day!
  10. Not in my case. My card with no annual fee had the offer. My card with a fee did not.
  11. You can create your account anytime at https://www.mynavica.abbott. After logging in, to the left, there is an option to add a managed profile. Click on this and add your son. When you are ready to test, you will be asked to logon and then select the profile to be tested. Once you're done one test, you can restart and select the other profile. My family has one account for all four of us.
  12. Thanks! I had it on one of my Chase cards, but not the other -- the one I usually pay Carnival with. I bought some Cruise Cash for our Pride cruise later this month.
  13. There are two separate accounts required. 1. The eMed account is for ordering the tests and having the tests proctored. You need only one. 2. The Navica account is used for the actual testing process and to view results. You can create one account for yourself, and add everyone else as a managed profile. Go to https://www.mynavica.abbott to create the account. Once it's created, sign in then click on Add Managed Profile to add the second person. Repeat for each person. When it's time to test, log in with the eMed account, then the Navica account, then select the Profile.
  14. If you use multiple devices, you could test multiple people at the same time. Laptops are the easiest, because of the ability to reposition the camera and not have to hold it. I definitely needed both hands. I appreciate the OP's effort in putting the instructions together. We've done a handful of tests in the past year and the process is pretty easy. Another tip -- have a pair of scissors handy for opening the kit. We've had one bad test, and eMed sent us a complete replacement for it. That is, they sent us a new order of six tests to replace the one bad test! I think that was a mistake, but I am not complaining. I used my HSA debit card to pay. There are four of us. I am going to take six monitored tests with us to London next month. I'll probably also take a few free regular tests with us for use as needed.
  15. It's automatic and very fast. I canceled an excursion the other day, and OBC was back by the time I could book the replacement.
  16. If my cruise and hotel were in Ft. Lauderdale, I'd just accept the plane change and fly into FLL. MIA is way more "zoo' than FLL.
  17. They must have released more, because late July shows some availability now. I have July 5th on my calendar to get tickets for our August visit.
  18. There are two logins. I created my eMed account when I ordered tests through them. A Navica account is required for testing. You can set up a single Navica account and add everyone as Managed Profiles. I did this for me, my husband and two children. This can all be done beforehand. https://www.mynavica.abbott You do not need the app for this. Then, at test time, I went to http://emed.com and clicked Start Testing. You'll be prompted to login to your Navica account, then asked to select which of the managed profiles is testing.
  19. I just finished reading this. (I work for the publisher so I can get it early) It's defined as "non-fiction narrative", and it does a good job conveying the thoughts and feelings of various passengers and crew. I found myself in tears quite a few times. I, like everyone else, followed the events closely at the time, but I learned more about the process/decision making that went on. Great read!
  20. So, I am back with another question -- wine. I understand if I buy wine in the ports, I can just bring it onboard. It is not confiscated until the end of the cruise like in the Caribbean. Is there a corkage fee if I bring the wine to dinner? And John Heald answered my time question. The Pride DOES change timezones, so we will be on local time throughout.
  21. This is not true. I've been to Grand Turk twice from Baltimore in the past, and there are a bunch of future Legend cruises that stop there.
  22. We have cruised Carnival (2017), Celebrity (2019) and Royal Caribbean (2021) over Christmas. They all have secular holiday activities -- caroling, Santa visits, cookie decorating, as well as religious services. The holiday decorations and gingerbread villages are awesome! It's a great time to be onboard. My kids are older, late teens, but we've really enjoyed being onboard for the holiday.
