  1. I seem to recall BA doing something similar a few years ago (pre-covid)
  2. Orange Order NI Centennial Parade (Irish Times Report) Understandable that the port was skipped, but it was bad planning by Regent to have scheduled a stop in Belfast that day.
  3. I was not aware that any of Regent’s ships are leased. I understood that all hotel staff on Regent ships are employed by Apollo
  4. Compass Rose is only open for lunch on Mariner, Navigator & Voyager; not on the newer ships, where a speciality restaurant is available instead (Chartreuse and/or Prime 7)
  5. It takes skill & dedication to be lucky 😉
  6. That is when embarkation check-in and boarding is scheduled to commence
  7. Same issue - no notifications on followed threads 😕
  8. Surely flying an aircraft should be what a pilot does best 🤔 😉
  9. If you wanted a well designed theatre auditorium then you should have booked Mariner or Navigator 😉 On the newer ships I would try to get seats on deck 4, not in the balcony, in the centre section towards the front.
  10. As others have said, special savings for families is not new - some form of promotion is always on the RSSC website. Regent have probably just added a few more European voyages that maybe weren't selling that well. Regent has never marketed its ships as adult only, but in our 15 years of sailing with them we have a) never seen that many kids on board and b) those we have encountered have been well behaved & polite Hope you enjoy your cruise on Splendor, and can get over your present feelings. Your cruise certainly looks to be a very good deal, but I still doubt that you will see many kids on a cruise of 18 nights. Hope you made good use of the two category suite upgrade to go for an F2 which is an excellent suite.
  11. It is true, and we hope that does not change on Regent
  12. No. It will show on your itinerary and on your final paperwork. Why not just take a credit from Regent for the included hotel, extend your stay at your chosen hotel and then take a cab/uber to the ship on embarkation day? Just a thought.
  13. https://www.matermoll.com/en/marine-collection/ Websters in Yorkshire is the UK (sole?) stockist: https://www.webstersfurniture.co.uk/brand/matermoll/ Although very comfortable, they are expensive compared to some of the high quality UK manufacturers such as ViSpring or Harrison Spinks (H-S manufacture John Lewis' "own brand" beds)
  14. @boblerm We have been comparing the pictures of Spring/Summer rolls in your posts #69 and #72. Some differences in presentation 😧 .................. but which tasted better? 😋 😉 Thanks to all for the reports from Grandeur
  15. Penthouse & above have a “Butler Request Form” in order to make requests on-line. Otherwise, simply speak to your Steward/Stewardess on the afternoon of boarding.
  16. Totally agree with your comments about the entertainment this last Christmas; but of course it will likely be a totally different team next Christmas, who will hopefully put in more effort and use more initiative than was evident on our holiday cruise Likewise, we still love Mariner; the layout of the public areas is the best in the Regent fleet. We certainly didn't find her to be "tired" and didn't note any areas requiring major refurbishment.
  17. Compass Rose is open for lunch on Mariner, Navigator & Voyager; not on the newer ships, where a speciality restaurant is available instead.
  18. With 6 non-fish appetisers and 7 non-fish main courses on the Pacific Rim menu I am struggling to see the issue for those that dislike fish.
  19. On boarding lunch is available in La Veranda or at the Pool Grill Compass Rose does not open for lunch on Explorer, Splendor or Grandeur
  20. I see that all WC segments on Mariner from Singapore onwards are now marked as “Waitlisted”. Same for a number of April-May Navigator cruises. Probably means that an announcement on re-routing the ships will be made soon? Thoroughly enjoying this WC blog and the fabulous pictures.
  21. The speciality restaurants, Chartreuse & P7, are open for lunch only on the new class of ships (Explorer, Splendor & Grandeur). Both on sea days; one on port days. Menus are specific to lunch.
  22. The Formal Optional nights will be shown on your "Preliminary Vacation Summary" which will be emailed by Regent to you or your TA about 8-10 weeks prior to your cruise.
  23. Your cruise is also sold as two separate segments of 7 nights and 10 nights (changeover day Feb 16th in Puerto Rico); hence no Formal Optional nights.
  24. On cruises of 16 nights or more there are two Formal Optional nights The simple dress code is outlined in the FAQs on the RSSC website “On sailings of 16 nights or more, Formal and Semi-Formal attire is optional on two of the evenings. On the two Formal Optional evenings, guests are welcome to dress as per the elegant Casual dress code or opt for a more formal choice of clothing including gowns and cocktail dresses for ladies; tuxedos, dinner jackets or dark suits with tie for gentlemen”
