  1. Thanks for the advice. We'll call rather than deal with the web site.
  2. I asked my wonderful TA to straighten out a pricing problem with Azamara. It got done, and she got a written confirmation. She sent me this email at 12:20pm: "OMG I am still on hold with Azamara, been on hold with them since 10:00 am this morning trying to fix pricing."
  3. I agree with you that Azamara is making it very difficult to access available cabins. I find it easy to get this information by looking at the websites of a couple of US online travel agencies. Can you do this from Canada? Someone mentioned that they use a VPN to do this. ( This is beyond me technically,) If you post the sail date and category, I'd be happy to check for you. (We've had rain, rain, rain so I have lots of free time.)
  4. Call Azamara and ask them to email you a complete shore excursion list. This works in the US. (I don't know if you're in Manchester England or in New Hampshire or elsewhere in the US.😃)
  5. I'm assuming the bid prices depend on the class of cabin you're booked in. The thought is that it would cost more to move from an inside to a CC than to make that move from a balcony cabin.
  6. Blu went from wonderful to acceptable to mediocre - and we haven't sailed Celebrity since. That was 5 years ago.
  7. Heike Berdos set a standard that few Hotel Directors can meet. She is missed.
  8. I think it's at 15 night cruise sailing on July 21, 2025. Reykjavik Iceland to Montreal. There's an overnight in Newfoundland.

    Spa Deck Pass

Many of us who had booked CC Suites were unhappy to find out that something we had paid for was "discontinued". I guess there were enough complaints that it was restored.
  10. Phil, we were in a small suite on deck 8 when we sailed on Onward in December. The outlet for John's CPAP was right next to the bed. I don't know if the bedside outlets in the standard balcony cabins were replaced.
  11. A CPAP machine typically consumes 30 to 60 watts without a heated humidifier at a usual pressure level of 7 to 12 cm H2O. The power consumption of CPAP machines can reach 70–100 watts when heated humidifiers are used in higher-pressure settings. The fairly fat cord Azamara provided was adequate.
  12. In the good old days of dinner with the captain, it was cocktails in Mosaic, followed by dinner in the main dining room. The wines being served with dinner were special. We still have photos of the group posed on the stairway between decks 4 and 5. More recently, we were invited to the captain's quarters for cocktails before the dinner. It was a treat to see part of the ship we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Dinner conversation was interesting and lively and we met some great people. For us, it would never be too early or late for us to say yes to the captain's invitation to dinner.
  13. We haven't sailed Journey in several years. I remember that they brought an extension cord that had to be laid across the cabin to an appropriate plug. It was taped down across the floor. The taped cord was an inelegant solution, but it worked. We emailed special needs and the extension cord and distilled water were in the cabin when we boarded. Someone who has sailed Journey more recently can probably tell you if the plugs near the bed have been upgraded.
  14. Oceania is clear? HA! On our Lima to Miami cruise, Oceania provided a free shuttle to an area considered dangerous. The police there advised us not to walk around that area on our own. All the ship's tours in Lima had been cancelled and everyone who wanted to sightsee in Lima had to take a cab from the dropoff point, which was near nothing. Many people simply got back on the shuttle and spent the day on the ship, which was docked in an industrial port.
  15. You can take refundable onboard credit in cash OR it can be credited to your credit card. I'm aware that I will lose the credit card rebate on that amount. Our TA doesn't do rebates.
  16. I'm sure if sales don't meet expectations, you'll see Azamara OBC's reintroduced and prices drop. We always get between 5% and 10% in refundable OBC from our TA.
  17. We've had problems like this on Oceania, which is why we cruise on Azamara more often. As far as contacting the Hotel Director: you go to Guest Relations and let them know you'd like to meet with the Hotel Director.
  18. I'd like to know too please. Many of us long time Azamara customers are now having serious concerns with reports like these.
  19. Mrs. Miggans, I'm shocked and amazed that the Hotel Director didn't get your husband a full refund within 24 hours. All participants should have received a nice letter of apology and a full refund within 48 hours. Who was the Hotel Director?
  20. Good for you! In addition to the great price, you'll also adjust to the time change easily and be ready to enjoy more cruising.

    New website.

This is not my idea of easy.😕

    New website.

For those in the US, there are many online cruise agencies that have web sites that will show all available cabins on any sailing.
  23. Sitting with other people at dinner and not being able to engage in conversation is just plain silly. People have been up and dancing at White Night since Azamara started this event. Music used to be less loud when people were eating and got louder for dancing. It seemed to work for most people.
  24. This is just another fun activity for cruisers. Price has gone up? Pat yourself on the back for the brilliant decision you made to book when you saw a good deal. Price has gone down? Ask for OBC or an upgrade. (And good luck with that!)😄
