  1. Cunard Line had the Servers/Cooks dishing out the food to us.
  2. On Cunard we had a average of two Lectures sessions by two speakers on each segment of our sailings.
  3. During our sailing in September to Canada, they were out and about everyday that was not raining and days in port. Even closed part of the Promenade Deck from the Walkers to reach the areas around the Lifeboats.
  4. I would never not attend or listen to the Muster Drill Instructions thinking I know it from the past. Never know any necessary changes have come about. And all the attention should be given when the Captain talks at any time.
  5. It's a nice drive with the guide giving an overview till Peggy's Cove. You See the Lighthouse. A Restaurant has a Gift Shop. The town is very Fishing atmosphere. Some tours stop by a Maple Sugar Store for a stop. And if time, a ride thru town to see Halifax. BTW....the tour with the lobster lunch was not a thrill at all. I would rather eat in Halifax better.
  6. Have to admit I am this last time a Cunarder Thief.......I took several packages of the Hot Chocolate home. I like it very much I wanted to enjoy it at home and have a package to refer to. I found it on AMAZON and ordered it. Now I can enjoy QM2 Hot Chocolate from now on. It is really good. Belgium Chocolate is really tasty. At least I admit to it for a good reason. Memories last..lol.....
  7. We found a reliable company and booked it. Took a test before at home to see that we were clean. Some say the 10 minutes are the most stressful to wait for the RN to read it and process the report by email. We were very confident that the test was Negative. We didn't mind the inconvenience of those 20 minutes for looking forward to 14 days on the Mary 2.
  8. She is Underway at 10PM out of Redhook. Still Heavy Dense Fog. Even the SI Ferry is under Modified Schedule due to the Harbor Conditions
  9. Yes Halifax. This time was a self tour and enjoy Halifax.
  10. In Brooklyn, we are wondering also the same why so late. We do have heavy fog that was suppose to have cleared mid day but still is hanging over the city and near the bridge where we live. I can't see the bridge from the house. Not sure status of the airports. Looking to attempt to see her undering the bridge
  11. Peggy's Cove is a long drive. We took it by ship bus tour last year. Quite a distance.
  12. Bon Voyage! Sorry for the Deep London Fog and Rain in NYC today. Shouldn't delay departure unless it affects the Airlines. The My Voyage can be challenging as we had on Sept 23rd. Lucky we landed at land often that gave us normal service. You will love Norway. One of our memorable voyages we took in the past. Of course we took it in July. The only thing we found challenging was the mixed music schedule in the Queens Room in the Evening. Changed from the past. You will love the Changes Band in G32. Will make you feel like you are in the Caribbean. WOW, wish I could pack now and be on board with you this afternoon on board. Only 12 minutes away from my home. Miss the meals in Princess..
  13. I remember the Senior Officer Party in the Ward Room on the QE2. We met the Chief Engineer that later offered us a tour of the Engine Room. The Staff Captain also offered us a tour of the Bridge which we kindly accepted.
  14. We used Chrome on our recent trip. Also we found signal strength was the key to connection. We used our My Voyager very often at see to review the accounting. And we also as others on board dealt with drops off and reset - sign back on.
  15. Settling in, so will be quite awhile. Only think I can say is that the next time we will be booking a cruise it will be Princess from now on. And will attempt to get the same table again.
  16. Again living in Brooklyn when we want Smoked Salmon we go to Acme Salmon (their smoke house facility). You can find the smoke house by following the smell in the air.
  17. Had the English Bacon on this past cruise and it reminded me of Sliced Ham not Bacon. I like American Bacon smoked with Applewood or Hickory.
  18. The theme of the bear this year is the Captain of the Carpathia, the rescue ship of Titanic. It was descripted in the latest copy of the Cunarder magazine.
  19. We recently sailed on the QM2 and enjoyed the Ports of Call, Activities, Theme Evenings and also Ship itself. One of the most important part of a trip is also the Food & Cuisine in yourz; assigned restaurant and alternate dining rooms. But as always there are Pro and Con's you experience besides what you expect. Mine were - Con: Lack of Darjeeling Tea during meals except at the Champagne Tea Time. No Chocolate Ice Cream in the Soft Serve Ice Cream Machine now only Vanilla. Use to have Chocolate, Vanilla and Mixed No Topping for the Ice Cream not even Chocolate or Fruit topping. Broadwalk Cafe outside not serving Hot Dogs, Hamburgers in a Picnic Setting on Deck 12 Grill Lounge for Grill Passenger on Deck 9 & 10. For two large decks the space a 330-430 can not hold the passengers wanting tea. I know there is Queens Room. These are some of the disappointments experienced. We did appreciate the service and food during the rest of the sailing. Will add more when I review more of the trip.
  20. After experiencing the Princess Grill this past sailing we very much like the assignment to the restaurant and the suite (cabin). Also Henrietta the Concierge helped us very much. We even enjoyed a much more private tea in the Concierge Lounge on 9. Not the same as Grill Lounge and Queens but still quiet and enjoyable. We appreciated for the 14 days the space in the extra large closet and additional closets. Balcony furniture was even better.
  21. On the day we dined for lunch we had approx. 12 tables occupied with passengers coming in on our exiting. We did not feel vacant of warmth and friendliness by the staff. They were accommodating and helpful with our further needs. And any further requests were answered with "Anything else we can offer to you"......
  22. We too agree about being a Grill Fan from now on. This is the first time on the QM2. Did experience Grills many times on the QE2 and twice in the Britannia Club (Pre Grill Experience). Enjoying that private table and come as we want is important not to be against the clock. We prefer not to socialize while eating. Maybe short talk but enjoy the food cuisine we ordered. We too were always greeted and addressed by our last name by all our staff assigned to the table location. And our servers knew our tea selection and accompaniments along with our juice each morning. I must admit along with you the service was Outstanding in all my decades sailing. We are looking forward to booking Grill the next time. By the way we enjoyed the Grill Accommodation of the Suite and all the Features. BTW....We were not impressed with the Grill Lounge for tea time. For two decks of Suites to fit into that space for a hour period was terrible. We favored having Full Tea Time in our Suite and enjoyed it in our privacy.
  23. Actually the Lunch we had in the Steakhouse was while at sea during one of those rainy we had before Quebec. We were lucky that the MD was there was a MD when we were in BC Dining Room. That brought back good times that set the tone for the whole meal. He took VIP TLC to us.How can we compare that to QG. We must admit our serve and care in the PG was equal to QG. We didn't need the next level of Menu choices. PG was just right.
  24. Well everyone is talking about the Cemetery in Halifax but we on the QM2 September 23rd sailing to NE/CAN that also visited Halifax had the Special Opportunity to have a special lecture by Christopher Ward. Christopher Ward is the Grandson of the First Violinist on the Titanic that is buried in Fairview Cemetery in Halifax. He was very interesting with background information on research he did of his Grandfather. He had two one hour lectures to a packed ship board theater. Than held a Question and Answer session in another part of the ship. During our visit to Halifax Christopher paid a visit to his Grandfather's grave.
