Have not been since 2019, are there still shuttles that go to Horseshoe Beach? NCL has a transfer but looks like only 4 hours. If it’s nice I would want to be there longer. Also wondering maybe take the free NCL transfer and grab a shuttle back when I want.

Have gone to both, prefer the Riverside but I always arrive around noon. If my flight did not arrive till late afternoon would do Hyatt Place 10th Ave if it is less expensive.

Yesterday I was looking at Bermuda cruises since I know a couple going on the Eclipse. They wanted over $4000 inside room with the drink and Wi-Fi…over $1000 more than the same room for a couple. Checked out the Joy across the river and all in was $1550, plus you get a specialty dinner. Think I got one of the reduced rooms under the theater but it seemed to be about 125% supplement. I just booked my sailing to Bermuda, but on NCL. The Joy and Eclipse do the itinerary and usually sail together. Celebrity wanted over 4k for all on an inside room ($3200 for a couple) Got all in on NCL for $1500. I even got 1 free specialty dinner. Loved Celebrity and was just on the Ascent, but no more.

To add a related question This is also my first Platinum cruise. Previously I had heard that there was a special way to book dining, free at sea dining or platinum dining first, or does it matter

I asked during NYE cruise and the answer was no

On the NYE cruise the Martini Bar had the show at 6:30 and 10:30.

Just as a side note, they have added large umbrellas in both the Fooftop Garden and pool area

I have traveled Ruby Princess this past November and the Ascent last week. If you think Princess didn’t do enough then you won’t be happy with Celebrity. Princes at least posted the solo meetup on a daily basis. The Ascent mentioned it once the first day never to be listed in the daily again. As a solo traveler I know a lot of people miss that first day meeting with so much going on, and don’t get the chance to know about any meetups during the week. I love Celebrity ships, food , staff, but feel a huge disappointment on how they have been treating solo travelers lately and won’t book unless things change.

On the Ascent 12/31 they had the Miami Dolphins game on the big screen in Rooftop Garden.

I would think there would still be taxis at the airport if flights are coming in. I have always taken a taxi from the airport to there. Should be about $20 to hotel (don’t know if they charge more that late at night)

Soggy Dollar is fine but has become a very touristy location. There are other bars on White Bay actually owned by residents of Jost. Go to Gertrude’s next door where I believe you order your painkiller and they hand you the bottle of rum for your own pour (at least as of last August)

I also book through their site and joined their Stash Rewards program since I go there whenever in Fort Lauderdale.

I got Value Trips at Hyatt House for $149 for 12/30/23….everything else was closer to $300 for NY weekend

I got pricing for Dec 30th at a price at least half if not more than other hotels from value trips

Can I suggest looking at the Riverside Hotel on Los Olas Blvd.The water taxi stop is right there, plenty of restaurants and some shopping all on the same block. The hotel is one of the first hotels in Fort Lauderdale and has that traditional Florida feel.

Taxi or Uber. So much easier than any shared shuttle service.

I like the Boathouse at the Riverside. If you are into chocolate, one block in from stop 1 on Los Olas is a a place called Hof’s house of Chocolate . Chocolate, ice cream and a liquor license, what can go wrong.

No, but there were other issues. Nicaragua has been cancelled for awhile by many cruiselines due to their political situation. Hal cancelled on my sister also 2 years ago,

I just wanted to thank all of you for the information, I booked on Wednesday and just got confirmed tonight(Sunday) at more than half the cost of other hotels. This was for New Years weekend so most hotels were at premium prices so this helped out a lot.

Thanks. I actually will be staying at the Riverside on Los Olas after the cruise and may do the water taxi then. I decided that staying at the Riverside New Years weekend was a little bit steep and Valuetrips seem to have an excellent price by half for this date.

Question about Hyatt Place. My flight will arrive around 11:00am. Does Hyatt Place have luggage drop off and is there anything worth while to due close by if I cannot check in early.
