  1. Exactly my experience; I have asked “what does it take to get a specialty dining comp?” They answered they no longer do that so just charge it to the room and continue to play You can ask hosts mid-sailing for your current tier points (for table games), they may tell not until the last night
  2. 100% accurate. If they had enough play they may be able to book a new comped sailing. BCC comped cruises will refund the fees/taxes you paid if you cancel. Once your offer code deadline expires they do not allow changes
  3. If you sail on X, it isn't for the food or entertainment
  4. With Sizzler, I believe many of us would PREFER Sizzler...Anthony Bourdain enjoyed it: With the Cruise Award for food, I believe it won the "large ship" category only facing off against Carnival, RCI and Princess. Regardless, right now Carnival's newest ships have some great food choices with Guys burgers, guys BBQ, Shaqs big chicken, ChiBang, Italian and let's not forget their infamous chocolates melting cake; all of which are complimentary
  5. They should put those silent disco headphones to good use
  6. 100% agree. X has always been bring your own entertainment because they don't provide much. Even their one nightly show (same show is shown twice) like the musical Broken Strings, is played fleet wide so if you go on multiple sailings you expect to the exact same show
  7. I've asked, was told they don't do that. Was there a specific ship where this has happened after the restart?
  8. Anyone correct me if I’m wrong as I’ve only had host interactions after the cruise restart…Since the restart, hosts can’t do anything for you besides adding a credit on sign and sail account on the last night. They announce promos, deal in tournaments, have conversations with players and I’m sure a ton of behind the scenes admin work. No one in the casino, host or otherwise, can offer you a free specialty dinner, free Wi-Fi, etc.; no perks, no apparel, nothing. If you don’t have the premium drink package and order a premium drink, they won’t even comp the difference
  9. Yes, note that they don’t get the gambler comp list until (usually very late in the) day 2. If you get offers, like your free play amount, its solely based on your last sailings gaming which also ignores the current sailings play. Seems like, their lowest offer is for only a comped balcony for a 2023 for the Millie while in Puerto Rico or the Mexican Rivera
  10. Maybe they should write at the top something like “Not final, there may be modifications”…Who am I kidding, only 1% would notice
  11. Not everyone believes the earth is round but if you do... Arctic Circle = Northern Hemisphere / North Pole Antarctic Circle = Southern Hemisphere / South Pole
  12. Go to google, enter your phone model and "how to enable AIRPLANE mode", if that doesn't work try the same on youtube...Different phones may have different ways to enable it and many have multiple ways (buried in settings and a shortcut) You can (and should) connect to the ship's wifi so you can use the App for FREE. To be charged the ships wifi you would need to select BASIC or PREMIUM from an internet browser, it's fairly difficult to signup for the PAID wifi by accident
  13. Was on the Sept 30th 2022 Millie repo/PC, San Diego to Puerto Rico, 15 nights...$398.88/person
  14. I would LOVE for X to get absorbed by RCI but understand it’s incredibly doubtful. I book carnival when I want better entertainment (usually 3 different comedians a day, piano sing along bar, their regular show, family feud is more fun than deal no deal, etc) and food (compare the Guys burgers to the awful mast grill, compare their melting cake to any X baked dessert, compare their Pig & Anchor BBQ to any complimentary meat other than filet, compare Shaq Big Chicken to any X chicken dish, etc) It’s only early Feb but in 2023 I have booked zero X sailings and have booked 3 CCL sailings; very open to try RCI but it seems carnival is either cheaper and/or has more appealing itinerary during the date windows I can cruise
  15. MSC status matches to other cruise lines or even hotels, airfare, etc
  16. Which sail date? I was recently searching some sailings and didn’t see this pricing but I don’t believe any had overnights anywhere
  17. Fun fact…People have been asking if this “issue” with tipping with cruising will ever stop for over five decades
  18. Absolutely true but most ports have free terminal Wi-Fi and if not, there’s usually a bar or cafe you can buy a bottle of water for a few bucks and use their high speed Wi-Fi
  19. Yes, tipping is generally is in place to save on employer taxes
  20. X seemed to scrub that bev rules (besides wine) from their FAQ, I believe they stated it was max of 12 drinks. I’ve never had a problem getting on a 10 or 12 pack of energy drinks and wine in my checked luggage
  21. Thanks for the datapoint, do you recall if the $9.95 was mentioned in the app?
