  1. Have to go with the Millie and summit; both are fully revolutionized, have the family rooms with the corner balconies and T-Pools
  2. Agreed and that’s why I said I’ll simplify it. FYI, you could (possibly still can) call room service during MDR dinner hours and order off the MDR menu
  3. On your next sailing, park yourself at the seating near guest services on the last evening to get a sampling of how many remove them. I don’t know how it works with AI if it even can be removed. Full disclosure, I have never removed auto-Grats on X
  4. One random dynamic is that the younger you are the lesser the odds you carry cash on you
  5. Thanks for following up; we’ve been sailing AQ almost exclusively and have never heard/seen this before so was wondering if this is a written policy. Usually the Blu asst M’D mans the host stand and the actual M’D is mingling with guests. I guess if you were to mention that you’ll be dining in the MDR tomorrow (for whatever reason) they would offer to assist with arrangements
  6. Make sense…This summer was when many ships, the equinox being one, said they were only allowing the timeless classics…Oh man, the FB of maybe 100 people really blew up about that they couldn’t order prime rib on the first night
  7. Can’t as it’s an unique URL
  8. Often when they offer a discount like 50-60% off there are select sailings you get full comps on…Usually that is Mex Riv, Millie out of Puerto Rico or an upcoming TA
  9. We were debating if we wanted to go on this comped Millie sailing out of PR or if we’d rather cancel it and visit Europe by land instead so we didn’t yet buy airfare for PR. We watched it and it was $550. It now doubled and worse, the sailing before and after has airfare available for $550. In our case we snoozed and we “losed” lol
  10. Absolutely agree; like anything it’s compared to what. So if in coach you’re stuck in a middle seat, that would suck and I’d consider biz more . But if you’re able to front coach seat where there’s like 5’ in front of you, you can get up at any time without bothering your neighbors and vice versa
  11. There are deals to be had if one has flexibility. We’re struggling right now with finding a RT flight in coach with a single checked bag from lax to Puerto Rico for under a grand all in; can fly in 4 nights early but it’s still $900 and now we need to take additional vacation day and pays for hotels, food and entertainment
  12. With #5, luggage allowance? You can book coach and pay for checked bags…Generally it’s all about the lie flat seat and unlimited booze for drinkers…Everything else is a minor drop in the bucket for most like food, service, lounge access, amenity bag, priority, entertainment and baggage allowance
  13. It'll be in your eDocs; otherwise all we can do is GUESS and the guess would be 5pm If one misses the ship they go into your room and grab your belongings so your passport would be at the terminal. I personally feel it's safer in the room as if it's on your, while incredibly rare you could be subject to pickpockets or even a robbery If you don't speak other languages ensure the tours you book have guides that speak FLUENT English Most people use the term first and business interchangeably, regardless if you actually first (which is a higher tier than business on the airlines that offer it) it's like anything: 1) How much is a coach exit row, how much is premium economy, how much is business class, how much is first? 2) Same as #1 but do you have alternative means to book like using credit card points to soften the blow? 3) Will it be overnight? I cannot sleep more than an hour on a plane unless I'm in a lay flat so I take timing into consideration
  14. I'll simplify it... RS staffing efforts = Order taker, picker/deliverer and bussers MDR staffing efforts = M'D and Assts watching everything goes smoothly, host, escort to the table, bread deliverer, water pourer, Sommelier, head water, asst waiter and bussers; note that many will visit the same table multiple times
  15. Plates left with half eaten food is a sign of unappealing food. I'm sure just about everyone on a ship has ordered something from a menu or tried something from the buffet where we had a bite or two and didn't like it. Same premise with reducing the buffet selection, "no one likes our terrible dinner food so let's just eliminate it" is the far lazier option than being creative and improving recipes. I've even suggest several times, they could have some MDR dinner items at the dinner buffet
  16. I do not see how "RS abuse" was a thing. You would have to imagine that a RS delivery, from "cradle to grave" requires less crew effort than if the passenger had ate in the MDR. It would be a win-win for X and pax if X OVER staffed RS and better advertised RS as an option to keep people out of the MDR
  17. She's on social media, you can attempt to message her there but I seriously doubt she would respond at all let alone respond to passenger requests
  18. Can private tours be cheaper than ship tours? It will vary from port to port and will require research
  19. In 2019, on a NCL west med sailing I've set up private tours successfully but have also been part of rollcalls where someone was trying to setup tours and for whatever reason they couldn't find enough people. Post pandemic, we're about 10% ship tours, 20% no tours/on our own and 70% independent tours but they're not private nor do we need to recruit others in order for the tour to take place. I totally understand some would have no problem paying $500/person for a tour but that is the minority. I'm shredding light on the article making it sound like you can just simply book a private tour for $100/person; often you need to recruit others in order to make that happen
  20. Where is it stated "they suggest"? If you have select dining and want to eat in the MDR at a certain time you can go in the app and make a reservation; if you have traditional, you just show up at your assigned time
  21. They do have 24 hour passes, but I don’t recall them being cheap For airline check in, unless it’s southwest or another airline that won’t let you pick a seat until check in, you do not need to check in advance. If you’re checking bags and going to the ticketing counter you don’t need to checkin in advance at all as the agent will check you in while checking your bags. If you’re not checking luggage you check in on the way to the airport
  22. If you have Select dining for the MDR, you CAN show up whenever but if you request a specific server, you’ll most likely need to wait a bit…However you are allowed to make reservations and when you make them generally they’ll try to get you with the same servers
  23. I believe the poster was saying you could order the MDR timeless classics from the MDR menu at Blu and they can’t tell you “no”’due to some company policy. My question is where can we find this company policy and what other policies are there?
