  1. Absolutely agree with Jim (haven't tried the Dover Sole), much better than the MDR. Eden is my favorite fleet-wide although I haven't yet been on the Beyond so haven't tried Le Voyage yet
  2. Multiple reports Princess still offering it in FLL, they call it "Princess EZ Check Luggage Service". In another X thread someone claimed to chat with the exec team pleading to bring it back, I haven't seen any follow up. The vendor for all of these luggage valets in Seattle and FLL are by "Bags Inc". No one is sure why it isn't offered for X
  3. It's most likely not a mistake. Make the best out of it, google what time the sun sets on the day you're there, explore things that interest you like the forts, have a nice dinner while watching the sunset
  4. Understand the availability of stateroom types is just as important as the bid amount. It would appear ships follow either the OLD bidding system which gives you zero bidding details and the NEW bidding system which will let you know if you're the highest bidder and if you're outbid This should give you a better idea about the process
  5. I'd recommend the bus. Quoting to mention that one way vehicle rentals are expensive because each location owns their cars and therefore the extra costs are to get the rental back to the original location
  6. Haven't had basic with starlink so I'm not sure. Only had Starlink on the Solstice and just so happened to be on her about two months earlier without Starlink. Premium was an average of .9mbps; should be noted the wifi starts to become unusable if lower than .7mbps. With starlink the average was 2.5mbps which is good for a cruise ship but nothing to write home about. Was on CCL's newest ship the Celebration where I was getting faster numbers than my home internet. It seems X greatly throttles the speeds down
  7. X so far has released two starlink deployment schedules to the public yet seems to deviate/deploy it ahead of schedule. If the most recent schedule is accurate, it would appear its deployed on all ships except the Connie (scheduled to get it this month on the 24th) and the Infinity (Jan 2024!!!)
  8. Which has always been the case with or without starlink, always needed the premium to access this site or use native wifi calling (you could make wifi calls using 3rd party apps like whatsapp)
  9. Do your research for excursions, X is charging at least $300/person for many Vietnam ports
  10. Just adding that the 4 MDRs are all next to each other so if one can't remember where breakfast or lunch is, it will be pretty easy to figure out once you get to one of them
  11. I will take the liberty to summarize these 5 pages with 3 bullet points, perhaps it'll help get this thread get back on track...No need to thank me -GIFTS, give cash because if you give a trinket/souvenir there's a 99% chance it'll end up in the incinerator -BRAG, if you don't tip or have positive interactions with others, brag about it -ATTACK, if someone disagrees with your bragging, call them jealous, etc BONUS!!! -GOLF, Golf is awesome!!!
  12. We have two of the most heavily debated topics, religion and tipping, might as well parlay in the third most, politics! This is who I'm voting for in 2024
  13. Fair point, if any cruise is 2/3 students then the youngin's will have fun
  14. If you care about your 17 year old daughter being bored, I would recommend another line
  15. Some dive shops are "cruise friendly" by offering transportation even if its against taxi rules, allow you to "check in" online and offer refunds if the ship arrives late or not at all. Other shops, often located in resorts, can be far more rigid...Example we've personally experienced, we're told the dive boat leaves at 830am with or without us, we have to figure out transportation (can be more expensive than the dive) and unless we cancel within 48 hours of the dive, no refunds even if the ship arrives late. Occasionally, at certain ports those are the only way to dive
  16. And IVs are a traditional balcony! Fancy X marketing, Concierge is a room category, they have balconies and a few extra perks. You get a "Concierge-Class Concierge" who is different (and presumed has less priority) than the Retreat Concierge
  17. Was a "wit humor" joke (which I LOVE), this image explains the joke:
  18. Thanks, that made me laugh and smile!
  19. Like the emails or not, they work. Utilizing TOM or "Top Of Mind". "Enjoy" these as they last because the next evolution will probably be your devices listening to your convo, it hears you say "Alaska" then like magic, X will send a targeted Alaska sailing email
  20. I think everyone's waiting to see if the "new" crystal is the same as the "old" crystal
  21. Technically @Guppy99 was incorrect as they claimed/assumed you could NOT order MDR dinner by calling room service before 2023
  22. What would happen if someone gave out a trinket with the "scripture" of "no getting frisky before marriage!"? It would go straight into the trash and be incinerated as it's already well know that a cruise ships crew area is literally a like college dorm room Text book example of the old cliché of ignorance is bliss; we should all challenge ourselves to be better
  23. The point is pricing, which many forget is NOT fixed, it's dynamic...
