  1. The problem isn’t the embarkation port which is only 100 miles away, it’s the itinerary and to a much lesser degree the lackluster ship We’ve sailed out of San Diego on a revolutionized ship, the Millie, last Sept-Oct, 15 nighter through the Panama Canal, we were at 37% pax capacity
  2. Now that the OP followed up by stating the crew including supervisors are claiming it’s a new rule, sounds to me like the bean counters on board went rogue by creating a new rule. Therefore it may take a call from corporate to reverse. With that being said, what a stupid rule, how much will they save, $100 average or a max of $300? It isn’t like it’s a sea day morning
  3. FLL. As stated, their official manifest usually gets amended every sailing as they can’t report the accurate number until just before sailing
  4. I swapped out Ms. Nuts who had a work emergency for a buddy at the check in terminal last year so barring an updated change, they can do it. Every cruise has no shows and occasional additions with someone replacing someone. At 72 hours, you can no longer do anything with your booking over the phone with X, any changes have to wait until terminal check in
  5. If you leave it TBD you'll have to spend more time checking in at the terminal
  6. At most terminals they have a check in person with a tablet, if no issues you move on to the boarding, if there's issues such as TBD, they'll send you to the terminal check in desk to resolve the issue
  7. All I'm saying is with the email someone is going to write anyways, why put all your eggs in one basket with just X? Simply add two more email addresses to increase your odds Anyone who reached out to them and complained about higher prices, lower food quality and vaping was a waste of time
  8. Where did you see they're having separate tables?
  9. I believe that is your best strategy; be sure to sign up for enrollment on arrival, I posted the link before but here it is again https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry/enrollment-arrival
  10. Thanks for the laugh! I don't care either way, yet what does interest me is what was the process of implementing this policy as a pilot and then deciding to implement it fleet wide? Because we need to find this high roller and get them to change the lobster from spiny to Maine 🙃
  11. You don't get precheck (pre-flight). At the end of the day, global is $100 for 5 years or $20/pp a year to save time standing in line both pre-flight and post-flight
  12. You wouldn't be able to bring like ten on but a few each I'm sure you'll be fine, some people do B2B2B2B, etc. Have a $10 or $20 handy and if the coach luggage loader in the extreme off chance says something, just present the bill and say "would this fix of this situation?"
  13. Its the same question as "how difficult is is go through airport security", it greatly varies essentially based on how many passengers there are and how many customs agents there are. With global, odds are you will save time, sometimes a lot, sometimes a little but also if you don't have pre-check you should be able to save additional time and won't need to take off your shoes, remove laptops, etc (although at some airports you no longer need to do that)
  14. Not trying to discourage anyone and they're welcome to do whatever they want but this will certainly be a waste a time for both you and her team. Need to reach out to Jason Liberty (RC Group) as X in Port Canaveral only happened because RCI was already there
  15. Things break and can be replaced but generally multiple ships had clips on one side and cages on there
  16. FYI only, not a recommendation: https://appointmentscanner.com/ You pay this site $40 and this will continuously search appointment availability. Fascinating but should only be used if you’re about a month away from the international trip. Your best bet is to do enroll on arrival, now 3 have recommended it
  17. “Why can’t I vape at the senior officer event?”
  18. Get RCI to home port there and X will follow
  19. That’s the exact opposite of what they want. They want an up to date quick summary, not to read 10,000 posts (lol)
  20. They have enrollment upon arrival that could work for you: https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry/enrollment-arrival Otherwise it just depends as the bottleneck is obtaining an interview appt; often LA takes months to get an appointment unless you’re able to snag a cancelled appt but 100 miles away in San Diego I’m told takes only a week or two
  21. If one asks something like "don't leave us hanging, will you reveal if the 5th E-Class ship will be named the Excel or the Vertex?", there's a good chance they'd answer it
  22. I just asked "what are some upcoming changes we can expect, the good and the bad? Changes can be anything, the food, captain club, etc". I give my question a .01% of being address. My WAG (Wild A$$ Guess) is they'll take one soft-ball question anti-Celebrity question or reveal one minor detail just to say it was PURE propaganda yet it will be There will be a huge focus on "how excited" everyone at X is about going to CocoCay, the change in itineraries due to the ship swap, etc. I can only hope they don't try to pull the "oh, and one more thing, we're going to reveal the 5th E-Class ship's name"
  23. To be fair, they probably didn't "ask" anyone (lol)
  24. If you use a TA site that I can't mention, you sort per night you can find some deals and often they are repos/TA/TPs or just super long: Oceania Rome to Miami, 15 nighter, balcony, BEFORE fees and taxes $3,199/pp Azamara Miami to Miami, 14 nighter, balcony, BEFORE fees and taxes $3,993/pp SilverSeas, Portugal to FLL, 14 nighter, balcony, BEFORE fees and taxes $4,650/pp
  25. Part of the problem which is most likely intentional, their marketing email is the same address their regular emails specific to your sailing
