  1. This is generally a terrible option as you have to get a hard pull and it opens a trade line. Also if you have the right credit cards that earn extra points/miles for travel purchases you'd miss out on that. Lastly, if you use a credit card and something awful happens where X doesn't compensate, you can try and do a charge back although you do risk getting blacklisted
  2. Thanks. One more question, they give you playing requirements, right? Is it a fixed per night amount?
  3. Just because I've never used URComped, they pick the room for you? Can you change it if you don't like it?
  4. Just some data points, ghost booking still says tips, perhaps they missed updating that:
  5. Call and you can upgrade yet I believe you pay difference between room types which varies by sailings, not a fixed price
  6. Totally agree with the laziness. With every few "cuts" there should be one passenger-friendly addition. Free fresh baked cookies would have been a good cheap addition and it also gets more traffic to the gelato station
  7. Always included to All included to Somewhat included
  8. You'll be fine yet leave the ship early to give yourself a buffer I have made several domestic FLL flights before 9am (8:43am was the earliest) yet I have a backup plan and can cut the PreCheck line thanks to having Clear
  9. For those who care about trivia. The RMS Titanic wasn't special nor did she bring any new innovations as she's a clone of her sister ship, the RMS Olympic. She was #2 of 3 in her class which was a luxury Ocean Liners and she didn't even sail full on her maiden voyage. The Olympic, was like the X Edge and The Titanic was like the X Apex; about 99% the same
  10. Do you have a source of the costco hot dog going up in price? Costco's founders reportedly told the CEO: "If you raise the [price of the] effing hot dog, I will kill you.". Also Sams Clubs actually lowered theirs to $1.38
  11. They liked the Celebrity product BEFORE they offered the premium cookie for a fee; just give us better cookies for free as the free ones aren't anything to write home about
  12. I think its ironic that instead of removing the fee and giving their guests a higher quality cookies which costs them very little, they just remove the better cookie
  13. Not exactly apples to apples; back then you essentially only had 1st class. Today you have coach which is far cheaper than the airfare 50 years ago and if you got the money for Emirates, can book a suite which includes a shower
  14. Just like vaping, our complaining right here on CC most likely played a part of them ending it
  15. Often actual "important people" are the ones who never want to be on their phones and/or go through their personal/executive assistant(s) anyways Ms. Nuts and I are both extroverted social people. On board we often get phone numbers of fellow passengers so we can make plans to meet up later and since we're often not in the room, we cannot answer our room phone. Outside of the ship, we are in active group texts and it brings us joy to communicate with them. Occasionally, plans are made in these texts and if we're not active in that group text, plans made be made on a date range we have other plans. Cruising is a first world problem and so is being on your phone to make other plans but this is the life of an extrovert Additionally, with work, seeing an email and taking care of a 5min task now can save me an hour of trying to determine if anyone took ownership of the the task, if was fully completed and if it was done correctly Being connected/un-connected is very YMMV and I never understood why some shame those with opposing connection viewpoints. All I'm pointing out is there are examples where being connected for some (us included) is useful and can save time. If anyone wants to disconnect, that's fine, although I do think everyone should have a phone on them all the times even if it isn't connected to paid wifi as you can still use the X app and can take a picture or video if needed
  16. What did they do with the left over cookie dough and where's their next port? 😅
  17. Sounds like their source was the thread I started where I provided a screenshot of my DM with Celebrity's Twitter account. We did learn that at least on some ships, the canapes and amenities have been gone for months
  18. The way to do this test correctly, offer these cookies for free for a month explaining this is a pilot with the goal of eventually charging for them
  19. They're more likely to add a third tier than they are to reduce it to one
  20. The overall problem is whatever you book today will have cutbacks tomorrow so its the fear of the unknown. When you sail in the future, E-Muster's could be gone and so now you're standing outside in 97f humid heat waiting 45mins for a selfish couple to appear. You like trivia so go to the event only to be told its now a $35/person cover charge. You're excited to have X's French onion soup but its no longer on the menu. The question isn't whether X's current cuts bother you, it's which cuts would bother you? Additionally, with some cutbacks, you may not think it affects you but because of unintended consequences they do. For example, this past Jan or Feb the buffet was severely limited and one may think "who cares, I never eat dinner in the buffet", yet the ones who do eat there may not find the minimal offerings appealing and decide to eat at the MDR which now extends the MDR dining times for all
  21. Thanks as you saved me from writing a novel as I was going to say the same thing...lol
  22. That would be me, most of the bookings were booked before these 2023 cutbacks
  23. You're so mean, don't tease us by giving us hope that we could have good free cookies on board an X ship 😅
  24. Did the Apex cookies taste like the Beyond cookies? They were way different than the ones the on the Edge in 2021
