  1. Some prefer artificial corn syrup umbrella drink and others like a cocktail crafted with real ingredients, it’s just a matter personal preference.
  2. Maybe try the cocktail of the day at the Sustainable bar outside? The Almond croissant mai tai is amazing
  3. Ok change to leads to be enforced. But the excess people go to…bringing home 8 bottles of Vueve, 500 ducks, plates of cookies, lobster tails…that’s why things are gone
  4. I was on the Joy and asked for a Boulevardier at the A list bar (outside of cagney’s and bistro) and was told that is on menu only at District Brewhouse (it’s not). It’s a simple three ingredient drink and all ingredients were on shelf. He flat out refused. I left a comment in the hotel managers box and received a message on my phone from the head mixologist who wanted to meet me. He was fantastic and I saw him all week throughout the ship. So please ask to talk to Glen, he’s so knowledgeable and friendly. He wanted me to have each bartender call him so he could come make me drinks. I refused to do that!!!
  5. This is the excessive behavior that causes many things to disappear or get banned. Do people decorate hotel room doors too?
  6. Excellent post. If I go further back to when I started with NCL in 2007, it’s so different. I shrugged off many changes until I just couldn’t any more. But I still visit this board hoping NCL turn somethings around.
  7. I've done all three and agree with much of what I read here. Value: YC Retreat Haven Service: YC Retreat Haven Food: Retreat Haven YC (but its not a far third, we just had more misses but I'm willing to revise this after my next sailing) Lounge: YC Retreat Haven Pool Deck: (Or sun deck) YC Haven Retreat (only bc it was older ship without an area but the edge class looks pretty great, I think better than Haven I'm looking forward to my next cruise in YC next month which I will blog about (alpacamybagsblog) You can read about my detailed thoughts on each there if you go back a few cruises.
  8. If it is one you got from a casino, read the fine print as a deposit is required but it will be returned in the form of non-refundable OBC. I picked one up from a casino near me because I couldn't believe it said no port taxes or fees.
  9. Nice! How’s Codenames Duet? I like regular. I’m going to go look up Welcome to Dungeon and the D&D one. Need ideas for our two week Greenland cruise and for upcoming MSC in April with friends. Got Everdell and Ark Nova for Christmas but they are huge! Hopefully we cruise again with you so we can play some games together!!
  10. I might have to buy Splendor Duel now. We have Splendor but I keep hearing Duel better than two player regular. But it’s a great game for a cruise!!
  11. Agree with using a travel agent! Much easier plus extras!!
  12. Oh you’re right. I guess just breakaway plus ships. Too bad as it’s a great venue for wine lovers.
  13. Absolutely it’s not being a “negative Nancy”. Your parents deserve the vacation they want after all it is their money paying. I hate when people shame others into not being grateful. It’s BS. You can be grateful for the ability to travel yet still not have a fantastic trip. Some cruises are just off and some lines aren’t a fit. I loved NCL and recently I wrote how finally enough was enough with the changes. They just aren’t for me like they once were. I still want to write my final thoughts about cruise here but I’ve been trying to finish the blog too. Europe itineraries do not have the downtime I get in the Caribbean
  14. Thanks! Infinity definitely needs some updating though. And there were some misses but all in all a good cruise. I’ve updated my blog to include embarkation day. I will post some wrap up thoughts here.
  15. We are at the airport has well! Hope they had a great cruise and safe trip home.
  16. We did get the first day of the blog posted and I’ll catch up my writing on the plane today. I was working on Cadiz yesterday. Europe cruises are always busy ones for us. Last night was probably one of the most fun too!!
  17. Dinner last night was one of our favorites! The tamarind chicken was amazing!! We shared a filet which was very lovely as well.
  18. Beautiful day in Palma! We were here last October so we skipped the cathedral. We took the shuttle to town (10 euro) and walked to Olivar Market for some tapas and cava. We did some shopping and had a great coffee and ensaimada that was so delicious.
  19. Last day of cruise! I will say the accessible cabin wasn’t my favorite. The shower while it did not flood room had very low water pressure making it hard to wash hair. I washed my hair in the locker room off solarium today and it was much better. I’m happy though we’ve have hot water unlike one review I read. He should’ve showered in locker rooms!
  20. Didn’t care for dinner last night. Odd New York strip. Texturally not my cup of tea
  21. Had the most interesting amuse bouche of cruise…white chocolate with cauliflower and salmon. A little sweet, spicy, earthy and of the sea..perfect two bites
  22. We needed some caffeine after some sangria and vermouth, so Cafe Al Baccio was our first stop for a shakerato, or shaken espresso but with almond milk. Not like the ones from Starbucks which are on the rocks but it was good!
  23. Hola from Valencia! Today we went to the cathedral where we saw two works by Goya, some amazing relics as well as the Holy Grail. Afterwards, at the market, we had a bocadillo with iberico ham and aqua de Valencia which was delicious. Dessert was horchata with farton.
