  1. A recent bad news report is that Fox News Channel was dropped after Starlink was added for better internet. Apparently not related. (PS - they also dropped MSNBC).
  2. That is an unfortunate development. Hope is not some fleet-wide trend.
  3. Excursion booking is a relatively new feature on the App. I'd go with the Personalizer if the feature is still there. Princess OCEAN IT team has been notorious for delivering buggy code and looks like they have struck again.
  4. Nuts. You should be able to book a flight from YUL. EZ-Air offers alternative cities for many itineraries and I would think YUL would be an alternative. Up to you how to get to YUL, however. Would be interesting (and nice) if EZ-Air would pay the cost of that since flights from QC aren't working. OTOH, it isn't EZ-Air fault when airlines change schedules or cancel flights. Ought to be airline paying to get you to YUL - if anyone other than yourself.
  5. It will be just another port day. If I was on there with you, I'd be ready to have you bring a couple on for me (and pay you of course!). 😉
  6. The order is only of relevance for those guests who have arrived and are checked in prior to the start of general boarding. See my correction to the below. I have an update. Have not seen a wedding party in years, but I suppose they would get an early pass. This would be for a wedding ceremony being performed that day early on. Wheelchairs. Suites and Elites are called together with no distinguishment other than group number. Platinums follow. Also, Club/Reserve Class Mini's should be in this group if not Elite. As various guests check-in, they are given group cards (usually letters). Elites and Suites will begin A, B. Platinums first letter will be a little further down the alphabet (at least this is the way it should be working). We have only been in-transit once from FLL (several other times outside North America meant nothing special on turnaround day). The in-transit group was homogeneously treated, but I will admit this was some years back (perhaps Fall 2019?). Perhaps if the group is very large, they sort them out? Not heard of this before. (Our friends have done several FLL turnarounds and never mentioned such a thing although I think they often leave the ship and return later). ETA: TBH, I don't see why it would be necessary to prioritize return to the ship after clearing US CBP because anything a guest would be rushing on to arrange could have been done the day before or prior to heading off for CBP inspection.
  7. Agreed, and I still think they have a lot of data corruption issues related to data conversion from POLAR to Princess App database. AFAIK, there are two different systems involved.
  8. Oh, I am sure you will see PCL cruising S.A. each Winter. I kind of wish they would bring back the full circle of S.A. which they have not done since Covid. The most recent ship doing it has been Sapphire.
  9. Ask your cabin steward as soon as you get there for one. Supplies may be limited. My friend has always received one. If you board early, chances are better. Look for cabin steward in the hall if they don't find you first.
  10. Very tiny because if they are truly over-booked, they offer "Move Overs" and they get takers. Typically, booked cruise is fully refunded and the new cruise is free.
  11. Traditionally, it has been - I agree. But at least earlier this year and late last year, some ships had moved it to Deck 5 and that DR had been absent from DMW, so that that DR was CC and walk-ups it seems. Anyway, it becomes obvious which one it is as soon as one is on board and sees where lunch is on embarkation day because that DR is also the CC/RC DR.
  12. Looks like no credits showing. I was wondering if it netted to $0 at the bottom.
  13. But I presume you had not checked the Cruise Personalizer or App the day before?
  14. On any ship with the typical three DR's (even if split in half), Reserve Dining won't be in the aft one.
  15. IDEA: Buy $60 USD x Cruise Length around now when CAD is doing well and better than 1.35. Take that cash with you to the ship and deposit into on board account. Or see if you can buy OBC and pay with USD today and have that waiting for you on board. Or, if you have access to AARP Reward cards (need a US billing address), buy some GC's and take those to the ship.
  16. Oh, I am sure such cases get a good dressing down from senior officer, if not the Captain himself. I was on a voyage once where this happened and the Captain waited - and waited - and you could tell he was not amused. I honestly don't know whether the cruise line can fine the guests, but it would seem reasonable if extra costs were incurred due to a late departure or overtime for the port pilot, etc.
  17. CC Mods ought to just shut this thread down and delete it.
  18. Maybe the Captain fined them more than the airfare cost.
  19. Q: Are late night gamblers awake for the Wake Show?
  20. As you know, you can always decide to order up the Plus or Premier package on board Day 1.
  21. You will need to ask your travel agent or Princess CVP. It is in the POLAR res record, but not shown in the Travel Summary. Princess does publish these in the T&C's of most/all of their promotions. Otherwise, if you have access to third-party booking engines that show all available cruise fares (compared to Princess.com with one only), the Fare Codes are often reported there as well.
  22. Oops. You are right there of course. Anyway, we aren't losing anything really as what we really are getting is X number of nights on the ships.
