Interesting comments...this just reinforces that this itinerary isn't one to add to my list.

We just did the 13 night Panama Canal on Serenade and wasn't excited about the entertainment.

We did a B2B on Explorer in an OS in March and the most enjoyed benefit at least for us was the cabin itself.

Yes agree the crowding can certainly vary. So many D's on our recent PC itinerary on Serenade they used the Viking Crown lounge for the DL, the usual DL for Pinnacles and the SL for suites. We could also use both SL/DL but there was never a seat in the DL...too bad as of course it had the better sea views. The SL was pretty empty nightly. 116 Pinnacles 326 D+ 357 D's

Just off RCI Serenade in Tampa at the end of our cruise. There are regular shuttles going to TPA $10.00 pp. Easy to find as you exit the port terminal they have signs offering this transportation. Couldn't have been easier and it was our first time there too.

You'll have comp drinks in the SL during happy hours...DL no comp drinks you'll have to use your 4 drink vouchers or use them anytime during the day at most all bars. So easy to figure out what lounge during what hours will work out for you.

Nay...safe but that's not the point now. Prior to covid we used to take the bus (across from Walmart) from the cruise port to the Malacon. Now our last two port stops there (as recently as 2 weeks ago) we took a taxi shuttle ($5.00 pp) they were lined up just outside the new PV terminal...lot's of cruisers doing this as the shuttles hold about 8 people. When you want to return just hail down a taxi to get back to the port...again $10.00.

Really? I just booked Navigator onboard Serenade for her 9 nighter Feb 23-Mar 3 2024. Oops..my bad I booked Explorer not Navigator.

When is Navigator going into drydock? Also does anyone know when Explorer will be doing hers?

Book two cabanas under your reservation on the cruise planner. Go to shore excursions the day you board there should be no problem getting them next to each other as cabanas aren't pre-assigned before boarding (usually a day or two before arriving at Coco Cay). If you're in a suite reply to your concierge letter that you'll get a week before sailing and they can take care of this request for you. With fourteen people and the price spread out among the adults I would hope that isn't a problem. If you decide to forget the cabana idea you should all get there to "claim" your loungers in whatever area you decide would work for you. Just a thought I believe kids under 3 may not be counted for cabana occupancy also if you rent two waterpark cabanas those under 3 are free. Check this option out if it applies to you.

I would imagine they do. Yes...cross over to stand on the outer median. The only vehicle that uses the curbside lane are bus's like Flyaway & LAX-IT etc....watch your step as you cross.

Our Alaska cruise on Serenade A couple of weeks ago the pools were crowded. We were also just on Serenade Panama Canal and the first time at least for us that the Solarium roof was opened...so extremely humid I think was the reason.

We've always gotten pretty close to Hubbard Glacier on our 5 Alaska cruises (lucky I guess)...We were on RCI Serenade last month Sept 18-24 and apparently we were able to get the closest it's gotten this whole season.

Any other port stops? Gold Rush Dog Tours is a great option in Juneau.

Just remember "curbside" pickup at LAX is across on the outer curb...and it's a traffic mess. Have been there a couple of times in the last month as recently as a few days ago.

And they are a wonderful transportation company...would highly recommend them.

We've been to this port many times over the years. However last week we were surprised at the new terminal RCI Serenade used. It was like walking through a very high end shopping mall. Very disappointed at this what some might consider an upgrade. To us it lost the charm the city offers. Why can't somethings be left alone or at least not completely overdone !!!

Agree...Paul is one of the best tour guides we've had regardless of locations. I recommend him as often as I can.
