  1. Both Mongolian and pasta develop huge waits as the week goes on. Not so much at Guys bbq.
  2. Not at all. We caught 9:30 out of FLL. We did have priority debarkation but even without you should be more than good.
  3. It’s a business decision. It helps offset some of the expenses associated with the service - those could be both food and labor expenses. Not unique to Carnival. As someone mentioned even AI resorts have gone to pay for room service. Many hotels killed room service years ago. Things change but you can usually find things that are important to you somewhere.
  4. We had zero issues with internet or anything else described on Horizon in July.
  5. No, they are on deck 11 and Lido is deck 10 on the Horizon.
  6. Definitely go for Mongolian or Pasta. As the week progresses, the wait in those two venues get very long. Go on day one before everyone finds it.
  7. It’s either cost cutting or price increases. Every industry and most of us consumers are having to make difficult decisions. Inflation is hitting everyone.
  8. Lots of locking beach bags on Amazon. We use a cinch sack locking back pack. Works great. Lock it to loungers or whatever.
  9. I think it’s a supply issue. I’ve seen different fries on each cruise since restart. Some were good, others ok but not not horrible.
  10. It happens. We’ve all seen an item we’ve enjoyed eliminated from a menu somewhere.
  11. Exactly. Very tough environment right now for every industry.
  12. Both make changes that drive higher profits. That’s what businesses do.
  13. We received upgrade offer today for a January cruise. Pretty surprised but maybe they want more inventory of the lower priced cabins.
  14. All I said was it depends on your criteria. You have valid points but net income is valid is well. McDonald’s blows away any restaurant in income but others offer legit better offerings just as Carnival vs RCL. It’s the great thing about competition and free enterprise - many choices for us as consumers.
  15. We sailed Mardi Gras last fall and your comments are very fair. You didn’t speak to all the options besides buffet in lido. I thought with all the new options compared to other ships, Mardi Gras blows them all away. And also the “free” speciality restaurants takes Mardi Gras to another level and opens up the options for regular carnival cruisers. Glad you had a great trip.
  16. I suppose it depends on your criteria. From 2010-2019 Carnival blew RCL away in Net Income $20.7 Billion vs $9.7 Billion.
  17. It was a pretty unique and fun game when it came out. Even in Vegas not super popular table. It kind of started the run of new table games outside of traditional blackjack. Others seem to pay out a little better in the short run to keep you playing.
  18. Agree that shows probably cost more but with the size of the showrooms I’m sure bar sales still decent. The great thing about cruising is the diverse and number of different things to do. Some generate direct income while others attract more people that will spend money on other things all of which keep cruise affordable for many who will come and enjoy a vacation in their unique way.
  19. But isn’t it part of the whole experience that drives people to cruise? Most things on the ship don’t generate direct revenue - swimming pools, water parks, mini golf, comedy, piano bar, karaoke, live bands, food, room stewards, etc. but without all of that why would people cruise?
  20. it used to be 4x pre-flop but they changed a few years back. Really disappointing as I enjoyed that game but switching to 3x tilts the odds to the house way too much so I don’t play anymore.
  21. Depends on you vax status and destination. Carnival.com as all the info. https://www.carnival.com/Legal/covid-19-legal-notices?icid=ccl_c19legal_040621_footer
  22. Glad you enjoyed. We really enjoy the shows on Panorama as well.
  23. This is true for all drink purchases cheers or not. And yes, includes St Thomas.
  24. We saw Million Dollar Quartet on NCL and thought it was excellent. Cats on RCL, not so much. Playlist shows are enjoyable but it does depend on the lead singers.
