  1. That chart shows both versions of the Winemakers Dinner are only available on Royal-class ships.
  2. I know that their chart shows both the Silverado & Caymus versions are available however unfortunately posts by recent passengers reported the $45 Silverado version was not available…only the $140 Caymus Winemakers dinner.
  3. This satellite image shows the close proximity of the parking lot to both B92 & B93.
  4. Our son & DIL arrived at 1030 for his milestone birthday…first Princess cruise for both of them although as a teenager in 1992 he sailed with us from Ensenada to Honolulu on the original Love Boat…Pacific Princess. Buon Viaggio! 🎉🥳🍾
  5. Did you go into Manzanillo? In early April we’ll be there for the first time.
  6. This link shows photos of many of Discovery’s obstructed view balcony cabins. There is no image for E306 however there is one for the adjacent cabin E304. https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/ships/ov.php?ship=Discovery-Princess&cabins=E301-E334
  7. Thanks…on their current list of dining options it shows both types on Discovery but what they advertised is not always what passengers will receive. Hoping that by our TSE cruise the Silverado WMD will be available which we’ve greatly enjoyed in every Royal-class ship’s Wine Cellar. 🤞🍷
  8. We’re 13 months away from arriving at BNE to stay a few days in Brisbane prior to a circumnavigation of Australia cruise…any reasonably priced hotel recommendations for the CBD area? The cruise is scheduled to arrive at 0800…if there are no delays would a 1215 flight to AKL likely be doable? We’ll have 2 days there before sailing to LA…we decided that was better than another long flight.
  9. Thanks for taking us go along to vicariously cruise with you on Discovery Princess. 🙂 We sailed Discovery’s first 2 cruises in Spring 2022 and it is our favorite Royal-class ship & we’re returning on the total solar eclipse cruise in April. If you notice whether the Silverado Winemakers Dinner ($45) is available or only the Caymus version ($140) is available would appreciate the info.
  10. It’s generally much better but need to be aware of any Caltrans closures that can make open highways into traffic jams.
  11. In the Maui Mall there is the tasty frozen treat shop run by a local family for over a century…Tasaka Guri Guri. Only $1.80 for 2 ono-Lucious scopes…pineapple or stawberry. 😋 https://onolicioushawaii.com/tasaka-guri-guri/
  12. Check your cruise history which lists cruise credits for past & future cruises. The number of minibars is based on the number of cruise credits. I booked a 28 day cruise that could also be booked as 7-7-14 days & my 3 cruise credits resulted in 3 minibars.
  13. Payment is immediately made to your chargecard listed in your app. I’ve never received any email confirmations & take a screenshot from the app and check my c/c statement to confirm payment was made.
  14. Casual dining options are listed on page 2 & 3 of this Princess document listing all dining options & which ships offer them. https://www.princess.com/content/dam/princess/corporate/pdfs/restaurants-dining-venues-on-board.pdf.coredownload.inline.pdf
  15. In ‘77/‘78 they had “Party Cruises…A Weekend At Sea”…2-3 days Pacific & Sun Princess roundtrip LA to Ensenada. The cheapest rate was $188 (2-days) and based on the info I’ve found ($1 in 1977 is equal to $5 in 2024) that would be $944 in 2024…no wonder I couldn’t afford to cruise back then. In 1992 sailed Pacific Princess (Love Boat) on a 5-day repositioning cruise from Ensenada to Honolulu. 1977 Princess Brochure.pdf
  16. I was wondering the same thing…send the increase notification to TAs to disburse to their clients without any official announcement to passengers. Like you, I took the bait & only time will tell if this was Princess’ way to get passengers to pay much sooner than normal. Their newsletter to TAs showed prices would increase today but based on posts that has not happened on today’s 1/22/24 start date. Or it is just another glitch in their system…one that could benefit those who didn’t purchase prior to the implementation date.
  17. Old or new app? I just purchased it for another cruise on the old app. It shows up as a pending charge on my c/c and is shown under the Travel Summary’s Special Services.
  18. Agree…Time is running out soon ⏳⏰⏲️ This is what I see on my “Travel Summary” under “Special Services” for a 10-day cruise with the 50% discount. MedallionNet 1-device Discount 1 $75.00
  19. This is what I see to purchase MedallionNet on the old app. 1st screenshot: what I see on my cruise’s homepage 2nd: option to purchase 1 or 4 device Next is to pay & used my c/c listed on my account 3rd: shows my purchase & how to sign-in on the ship
  20. I’m also using the original app for our April cruise however Princess’ current statement is that beginning on 2/1/24 only the new app will be usable. They need to fix this shoreside snafu before eliminating the old app. If not, even with our Medallions in hand we’ll be stuck in the longer Blue check-in line. Gone are the priority check-in lines to be replaced by those who have Medallions shipped ($10 for standard fares) and are willing to provide a shoreside chargecard to be stored by Radiqal in India…not me.
  21. Many are reporting this requirement to get in the Green lane because without the shoreside setup only 6 of 7 requirements are completed. I will not provide my info & c/c to Radiqal based in India for shoreside purchases & Princess needs to rescind this requirement & to make it optional like in the original app. Lots of information on this sticky thread:
  22. As I recall previously at the Elite level (and maybe Platinum?) dining reservations could be made immediately but for others it wasn’t until final payment.
  23. Here’s the statement about the 2/1/24 date although based on posts the remainder of the statement is not true for everyone. “If you choose to, you can continue to use the existing MedallionClass® app on your upcoming cruise (until February 1, 2024). When you're ready to switch to the new app, the transition will be seamless and all your activity and info (including OceanReady® status, travel documents, and dining reservations) will be waiting for you in the new Princess® Cruises App. https://www.princess.com/en-us/plan/oceanready
