  1. How were the excursions on this itinerary ? We have been on Scenic twice ( Danube and Rhine) both a few years prior to Covid. Now we are thinking about doing the Scenic Gem on the Seine. I know the river is not a spectacular as the others but hoping it would be as enjoyable. Any input on this itinerary and Scenic ( post Covid) would be appreciated.
  2. We are thinking about a Scenic River cruise on the Seine for next October. We have been on two Scenic cruises about 6 years ago and enjoyed them both. Did you have an problems with your Seine cruise and would you give it a high rating??
  3. You will love Regent and Europe! They treat you so well. Maybe we can arrange to meet for a drink once on board.
  4. Grey Lady, we work with a wonderful TA and she was told by Regent that we couldn't get Delta at all to Barcelona. She even checked a few days prior and they couldn't get any Delta options due to the pricing being way more than Regent is willing to provide ( certainly understandable). So we are happy that the return will be on Delta and a non stop. Like you, I think with the amount of time for our connections, we will be ok. By the way have you sailed Regent before? This will be our fifth cruise on Regent and we can't wait!!
  5. Maybe someone can help me to understand. The flight says United operated by Lufthansa so what are we really flying 🙂 ? The connection in Frankfurt is 4 hours..doable right. I am afraid the upcharge to fly Delta would be way more than we or Regent are willing to pay since the cost is $11,000 pp.
  6. We are tried and true Delta airlines people ( GA folks). Delta prices have skyrocketed so Regent is offering us United ( operated by Lufthansa) on our Med cruise in April. Good news is Delta direct home from Rome. Has anybody had experiences with United to Frankfurt ( then on to Barcelona)? Would love any input.
  7. Hi Gray Lady, I think we are on the same cruise Barcelona to Rome April 14 to 24. Just curious about your flights. We have been offered United ( operated by Lufthansa) to Frankfurt and then on to Barcelona( with Lufthansa but different flight). Our return is a direct flight from Rome on Delta ( our preferred airline).Which airline are you flying?
  8. Hi Gray Lady, I think we are on the same cruise Barcelona to Rome April 14 to 24. Just curious about your flights. We have been offered United ( operated by Lufthansa to Frankfurt and then on to Barcelona. Which airline are you flying?
  9. So here's another vote for Delta. We have never ever had a problem with them and fingers crossed for our cruise in April that Regent will put us on a Delta flight to Barcelona (hoping for non stop but we will see).
  10. We have a cruise booked Barcelona to Rome in April. Our deviation date is coming up soon. I am concerned that we won't get non stop flights ( both outbound and inbound) since this was one of the reasons we booked this cruise. As we get up in age we shy away from making connections. We fly out of Atlanta and have always had non stop flights to Europe. On looking at the prices for non stop flights....yikes!!
  11. Peaches, could not agree with you more. A wig sounds like a great idea!! Most of these services are priced crazy.
  12. Just to get back to the subject of Diamond Run, we saw it in December of 2022 on the Splendor and we had difficulty following the story line. I am glad to hear that others felt the same way. Since we didn't care for it then, we decided not to see it on our May 2023 cruise. We also saw Andrew Bateup in May 2023 and thought he was good but a bit on the stiff side. Hoping that the shows they are offering in 2024 on the Grandeur and Splendor will not be repeated again. I guess performers have a contract for a certain amount of time so seeing repeat shows are inevitable. We love Regent and this isn't a deal breaker and we are blessed to be able to sail on her! 🙂
  13. For some reason I can't find those new port filters on the Find A Cruise page. I wonder what I might be doing wrong??
  14. We will be on the same cruise as you Cruisevirgin24. We are also looking forward to sailing in the Caribbean In January. This will be our fourth Regent cruise and by far our favorite cruise line, spoiled us you might say. Wendy thanks for the positive review on the Biltmore, we will be there pre-cruise as well.
  15. We are on the same cruise Barcelona to Rome as Gray Lady ( April 14). Thanks to Lew and this information " Hosted by Spain and co-organized with UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC/UNESCO), the 2024 UN Ocean Decade Conference will take place on 10-12 April 2024 in the coastal city of Barcelona." we might rethink going into Barcelona a few extra days. I am hoping that the one night included hotel will be a better location than Hotel Sofia which is what they used in May 2023.
  16. The inquiry was for a domestic flight Atl to Miami. We would definitely use Regent air in April across the pond. Perhaps I used the wrong verbiage. Again, appreciate your help.
  17. DaveFr, So, this is what it says on the website " Fares below reflect all Featured Special Offer savings. An additional savings of up to $2,700 per person is available when arranging your own flights and transfers." My concern are the words " up to". I interpret that as it could be less. I need to check with our wonderful TA, I am sure she will have the answer. I just threw it out to see what others had to say. If our domestic flight amount is spot on and not less then we will be happy campers. Thamk you for your help.
  18. Rallydave, thank you that was very helpful. So, the next part of the part puzzle is to figure out how much $$ Regent gives us if we were to book our own flights.
  19. Having three Regent cruises under our belt, you would think we would understand how deviation works. If we decide to book and pay for our own flights, will Regent still supply us with transfers from the airport to the hotel ( one night) and from the hotel to the cruise ship (then from the cruise ship to the airport)? This question is in regard to domestic flights. Regent wants to put us on a basic economy flight after paying the deviation fee and I would guess that we might not even be able to choose our seats. If we want to upgrade from that could that be done with either $ or mileage. Does Regent give us a deduct if we book our own flights?
  20. SWFLOAK, we have a cruise booked for April 24 as well going from Atlanta to Barcelona and returning to Atl from Rome. We booked this cruise figuring our flights would be business class just like our past flights across the pond have been. If it turns out that this is not the case then we will be cancelling too and requesting a complete refund of our deposit. Hoping this won't be the case because we were really looking forward to this cruise.
  21. Thanks for the responses, can't wait to swim amongst the fishes of the deep of the deep blue seas!
  22. We used to snorkel a lot when we were much younger in the Caribbean ( Aruba, Cozumel etc) and loved it...hence my name. We were not on cruises then but had flown down to the islands. We would bring our own mask and mouth piece with us. I would imagine that is what people still do. Thinking about a cruise that offers snorkeling and wondering if there is any age criteria. I think it would be rather like riding a bike, once you learn, you don't forget.
  23. Thinking about a Barbados to Barbados cruise just wondering about the flights from GA. Sadly Delta doesn't fly there.
  24. We love Regent and have sailed on her three times ( Explorer and Splendor). We are thinking about trying Oceania in the PH 1 category on a Panama cruise. Not sure if it might be a good fit or might we be disappointed. We would love your thoughts since you have done both Regent and Oceania.
