  1. I don’t see this as positive. I see this as a way to charge more. I really hope they don’t raise the prices of drinks to be above the regular drinks package.
  2. The Captain Cook Hotel is what you’d want. You can book directly through the hotel or through Princess. Compare prices and inclusions.
  3. That sounds correct based on what they did pre-pandemic. The best people to ask will be the local Holland reps at the airport when you land. The local reps handle everything here, so they’ll be in the know of when and where to go.
  4. Nooooo, things aren’t supposed to turn bad again! 😢 I’m so sorry you’re positive now, too! You 2 rest well together, and I hope things improve again!
  5. I am SO glad things have turned around for you guys!! 🙌
  6. Wow, I don’t know why a transportation employee would spout off about the food to a future pax when he/she has never even sailed Princess! DH and I adore the food on Princess and prefer it to every other cruise line we’ve sailed, including Cunard and Celebrity! Of course food is an individual preference, but please form your own opinion. I believe you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
  7. That’s a lot of sudden stress added to Alaska cruisers! It doesn’t seem prudent to stick thousands of pax together in a room to be tested, nor would it be smooth to send them all to the airport to wait in a long line.
  8. That is super stressful! The Vancouver airport can already be stressful due to long security lines. To me, the cruise lines providing the test at the end of an Alaska cruise was the only way to make it smooth.
  9. I would be mighty disappointed to go on Marci Gras for all of its new features, including Bolt, only to have Bolt not running.
  10. We’ve been to all of those ports. We’ve done both cruise line as well as Viator in Naples, cruise line in Ephesus, independent in Mykonos, and boat transfer to Oia in Santorini. In Naples, I recommend sticking with a cruise line tour because there can be bad traffic to/from the Amalfi Coast. The time we used Viator, the tour was great, but we came way too close to missing the ship because the driver was focused more on the return time of the other ship in port and forgot ours. The food in Sorrento and really anywhere on the Amalfi Coast is out of this world! Ephesus is a pretty long drive out of the city, but I’d say it’d all come down to what you want to accomplish touring Ephesus. If you want a personalized tour, go private. If you just want to tour it in general, a group tour would be fine. Mykonos would be a prime beach day. The water is perrrrfect! It’s also a very walkable place. You must eat lunch there; the food is so fresh and delicious! Santorini is easily done on your own. You can buy boat transfer tickets right at the dock to get to Oia, and then they bus you back to Fira to explore. The cable car to get back down to the dock can have a long line, so beware. Have fun! I adore the Med!!
  11. We usually fly Alaska because we live in Alaska. It’s not as flawless as it used to be, but it does continue to win awards and get us where we need to go usually when we need to get there. If doing an Alaska cruise, I always recommend flying them because they have the most flights to/from Alaska, providing the most backups if needed.
  12. Lol Her character brought some extra entertainment at first but then got rather annoying after a while. Whether or not she’s there will have no baring on whether I cruise Princess. They could save money by not having her.
  13. It’s definitely quite a spread if you go with their meal plan, true full course meals and amazing food. If you don’t eat seafood, there will still be options, but I did see most people having crab and halibut, since those are AK specialties.
  14. For me, this would actually be a selling point because I’ve been to Ketchikan so many times and have wanted to go to Icy Strait Point for years! I understand why it would be upsetting for people experiencing Alaska for the first time, though. Ketchikan is one of my favorite AK ports.
  15. That’s very disappointing. There was an article recently here (AK) about how the cruise ports are struggling to find employees for excursions. There’s still a chance they’ll find last minute workers, so keep checking the excursions until you’re onboard. People will inevitably cancel, too, so if NCL lets you waitlist, do it. Good luck!
