  1. Here is the question that is asked all the time. It would really be great if Regent could manage to address this before four days before the cruise ends. Instead, if you are new to cruising, or just never had the issue of a late flight, you have to reach out to Social Media to see what has happened to others. Makes no sense to me. BTW, I had the same questions last year. It all worked out, but I wasn’t happy or pleased with Regent’s process. Room for improvement.
  2. We are booked with Viking in 2025 and purposely booked a higher level cabin to ensure better chances on excursions choices/landing. Your first response made me very happy, this one did not. 🤨
  3. We love Georgiana, I swear she followed us on our cruise last year. She always appeared as we entered a dinning room. Hope to meet her again.
  4. Jersey girl here has never been cold on a Regent cruise. I keep hoping, but I find it warm. So does my Jersey born husband.
  5. I expected this answer, so I would need to plan this soon! I also did the birthday or Girl Scout trip to original the Paper Mill and my kids and grandkids have done the new one!
  6. Last year, when I checked into the Marriott in Copenhagen, I gave them my card and as soon as they had that - I got thank you for being a loyal member, blah, blah, blah. I also got room with a great view, lounge access and the breakfast in the lounge was better than the “other” breakfast. Worked just fine.
  7. I go to the Paper Mill Playhouse, frequently with my mom. I live 20 minutes away from it! Excellent productions. I love the fact that your grandkids have enjoyed the trips. I may have to think about this, since we have a 15 year grandson, that is the easy going artist type. Question, what happens if you book the trip when the kid is 17 and turns 18 at the point that you sail? Do you now get an up-charge?
  8. Yuk to pea soup, but my husband would try it! Now a flatbread with smoked salmon would be nice as a late night snack.
  9. Thanks to those that have actually been on the expedition ship in the Antarctic. The pre booking doesn’t apply to those ships at all - hence my question. I may need to rethink my cabin choice. If I’m not going to jump the queue, I can think of other things to do with the significant difference in money. Thanks, all.
  10. After reading this thread, it appears if I splurge on a Penthouse I don’t get first dibs on the expedition excursions, which would be why I spent the extra money. Would love to hear from anyone that actually spent for those higher end cabins, what did you get besides more space?
  11. Thank you for your review. The wine service concerns me, because I have been very impressed with other ships with their service and paying attention to what we like.
  12. I’m not so sure the Great Lakes are known for diving, at least that has never been on my radar are a certified diver. I’m hoping to see jelly fish in Antarctic!
  13. I’m got a cruise on hold for Jan 2025 and they want their money basically a year in advance. I’m not a big fan of it either, but we can cancel it up to September and only be out $100. I’m normally on Regent, but the cruise I’m going on - Regent doesn’t quite have what I want. It may be the only time we sail with Viking, because I also have an issue with paying them a year in advance. We will see what happens.
  14. Thanks for the quick response. There may be lots of wine flying with me.
  15. Did you end up on the waiting lists for anything? How many times did you get to land?
  16. Since, we are speaking wine and drinks. I just booked my first Viking cruise. We have been in Regent before. Is it correct that if I order a $100 bottle of wine, they will charge me 15% tip on top of it - same for any drinks we order? I’m expecting to purchase the drink package - does that change the tipping part of this?
  17. Looking at booking on Octantis and was also concerned that if I don’t book a penthouse, I will miss out on the sub and perhaps other excursions in Antarctic and the Faulklands. Do the comments above apply to these cruises, also?
  18. BYOTP? May be a problem for the World cruise, but it would gave you room for souvenirs!
  19. I’m happy to say, we have Andy bucks from our cruise down under this year! We had a great team!
  20. Very nice, Regent CYA note! I also like the comment about having your phone ready to use. It is amazing, someone will be spend 25k to vacation somewhere, but won’t turn on the international calling plan for $100 a month.
  21. Agreed, Regent may call it an Orchestra, but based on a definition of a band or orchestra - they are a band.
  22. Let’s think band here, I wouldn’t really call it an orchestra.
  23. I was all over the timing of this with my room attendant. I think he clued in the other room attendant and as soon as the other room left, our stuff was moved over. Our room attendant did some intros and we were off to breakfast.
