  1. I stayed in a forward cabin on my second cruise. The bow thrusters were very noisy as the ship maneuvered into the many locks during the night. I was awakened on multiple occasions.
  2. I had quite an experience in Las Vegas. I had been at a conference in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and due to lousy weather in Chicago (what a surprise) my return flight was canceled. I needed to be home the next day, so I got routed Cedar Rapids to Denver to Las Vegas to Toronto. When I got to Denver the next flight was delayed. I asked whether I should bother boarding because the connection was so tight. They said board, so I did. We landed, I sprinted to the next gate, and they closed the door behind me. I don’t think I was on the ground for 10 minutes in total.
  3. Viator is not all over, because it doesn’t provide any service except booking. The services are provided by other companies.
  4. Deluxe has bigger windows than classic, and the windows will be lower down the wall. Both classic and deluxe have fixed windows. A French balcony has full height windows that can open to get fresh air into the cabin. I have no idea what it would take to get an upgrade (my Uniworld cruises were 12 and 13 years ago and they didn’t offer such things). Personally, I wouldn’t expect those minimum bids to be dropped.
  5. Since the trip is only being researched for 2025, there can't be a reservation yet.
  6. Have you checked whether the bills are all current? Countries update currency on occasion for security reasons.
  7. Some of those free tours charge the guide to list on their platform. In that case, if you don't tip, the guide is actually losing money.
  8. The only exclusion is a condition that was not stable for 7 days before departure. I didn’t do this online; I went through an insurance broker who specializes in travel medical. He sent me the policy wording for me to read with the quote. (That’s how I learned about the annual plan and got a quote for that too.) There were a few medical questions; it is possible that if your answers are different than mine that the coverage would be different.
  9. That's not what my endorsement page says. Here it is (my apologies for the layout; I did a copy and past from a long document): Unstable Pre-existing Medical Condition Coverage This Optional Coverage can be purchased as an endorsement to an Emergency Medical Insurance Worldwide or Worldwide Excluding USA plan. Benefits Maximum limit − Up to the Policy limit This coverage does not increase the maximum limits of the Emergency Medical Insurance plan stated in the Policy. When this Optional Coverage is purchased, we will pay for the reasonable and customary charges for medical and related expenses up to the coverage limit for an acute, sudden and unexpected emergency medical condition incurred as a result of your pre-existing medical conditions that were not stable and existed on or before the date of departure. The charges must result from an emergency that first occurs after coverage commences (including after any applicable waiting period) and while you are travelling outside your province/territory of residence. Coverage is subject to the terms and conditions specified in the section entitled Emergency Medical Insurance, except for the wording under the sub-heading Pre-existing Medical Condition Stability Exclusion and is also subject to the exclusion described below. Exclusion In addition to the Emergency Medical Insurance exclusions and to the General Exclusions shown on page 47, we will not be liable to provide coverage or services, or to pay claims for expenses incurred directly or indirectly as a result of: Any medical condition which is not stable on or within the 7 days before the date of departure.
  10. Sorry, I meant to say that TuGo gave me a 7 day stability rider and a year’s coverage.
  11. I didn't make a claim so I can't comment on that side of things. I needed additional insurance before I went to Africa last summer, because my post-retirement coverage has a 90 day stability period, and I wasn't. I got a quote from TuGo, which seemed fairly expensive, but then I asked for a quote on the annual plan (which I read about in the documents that I was sent) and it was barely more than just the trip itself. Since I had another European trip planned for the fall, and a trip to the US southwest in the winter (ultimately cancelled but replaced with another US trip in April) and the annual plan covers the US (which costs extra on a single trip plan) it made a lot of sense to me.
  12. Canada had the same issue. Queen Victoria chose Ottawa to avoid choosing Toronto or Montreal.
  13. No, you are not the only one. It used to work better. I wonder whether @ProgRockCruiser’s comment is the answer. I use both my phone and my desktop to browse.
  14. @MTV43 Your pictures are spectacular! I’m so looking forward to my cruise in 2024!
  15. In Canada they have just been made legal. I have not yet experienced any merchant charging a surcharge, but they are out there now.
  16. Those are the inclusions. But, as explained, if your suite only offers Standard internet, then when you sign in once onboard you will be offered the Premium option for a price.
  17. The limits are different by country. In Canada, our tap went from $100 pre-Covid to $250. The limits @hallasm mentions are considerably lower. I believe that Apple Pay has no limits.
  18. PayPal has started automatically switching to Canadian dollars if I make a purchase in $US. I have learned that I have to switch it back to charge me in $US.
  19. I can’t imagine that anyone would allow tendering on a power wheelchair. They are very heavy.
  20. When I flew to Europe last fall (from YYZ) they insisted that I use their 1 litre bag even though the one I was using was supposedly TSA approved and their limit is 1 quart which is smaller than a litre. It was the first time they had ever questioned my container for liquids, and I had used the old one many times.
  21. Limits are much too low, especially if you are over 65.
  22. It might be that your PIN is only to get a cash advance, not a full chip and PIN card, while your daughter's is the real deal.
