  1. I always order a mixed drink on board naming the liquor I want. Otherwise, you get "well" liquor. I expect if you have a classic pkg., the only sparkling wine available will be Chandon. With the premium pkg. , I always ask for French champagne, and stress I do NOT want Chandon. Or I order by the name of whatever "real" champagne they have on board at the time, which currently seems to be Haslinger.
  2. Jim, I believe you mentioned it earlier, but, please, again, what is that chardonnay that Iain is fond of.?
  3. I had no luck with calling on Oct. cruise. I just did things myself, including bringing extra bottled water from the Retreat Lounge. There is also assorted soda if you wish to take back to your cabin. You will only get 2 large bottles of water from your cabin steward daily and will be charged if you ask for extra in the cabin. Do not ask for any alcohol drinks unless you want to pay. Nothing in the cooler is covered. You can ask your room steward to empty that cooler to make room for your preferred stuff. Or do it your self and advise steward where you put it all. Your room steward's name tag will say, "Retreat Host". Don't be fooled. They are cabin stewards and work for housekeeping, not the Retreat.
  4. If you are in a sky suite, you will have no butler. Otherwise, yes, they can make dining reservations. I used to ask for a cheese plate or shrimp cocktail for later evening snacking. If you have a butler you should meet him/her on boarding day, and also meet your cabin steward as well.
  5. Thanks! Could only book one night at 6 PM in any of the MDR's. I will check a few more times to see what might open up.
  6. Interesting. Mer Soleil was my go to on X. Different strokes as they say!
  7. I know there are several threads here discussing whether reservations are being honored on E class ships. But, I wanted to make reservations, just in case Beyond will be honoring them by our April cruise. However, I don't see how to do this in my cruise planner. Can someone help me out, please?
  8. Haven't actually tried a French chard in a few years, but when I did, they seemed thin to me. No body. But anyway, thanks for all the good comments on Steel, aka Louis Jadot.
  9. Any comments on the Louis Jadot chardonnay on the premium menu? In past years I found that the French chards were not my cup of tea, so to speak.
  10. I don't remember what the concierges in the Retreat Lounge were called. I asked one of them to have the bottle of sparkling wine in our cabin to be exchanged for a cabernet. He said he'd take care of it. Didn't happen. Next asked the room steward and he took care of it. I would ask the room steward for any requests having to do with what is in the cabin. Anything else I would do myself. I know if you want food or drink delivered to the cabin, you have to call room service, which is still no charge in suites.
  11. I'm more interested in Chard for sipping without food. I looked up Steele and on line it shows as a California Sonoma wine.
  12. On our recent EQ cruise, the term "retreat host" was on the name tag of our room attendant. And that is what he was...room attendant, despite the fancy name tag.
  13. Thanks. Are you familiar with Steele Chard? I don't think I've every heard of it.
  14. Since Mer Soleil is no longer available by the glass, what other chards are available by the glass please? I know Elegance is. But that's not a premium wine to me. Is Villa Maria sauvignon still on premium?
  15. NMTraveler I feel the same. You buy one cruise experience and then find the experience you get is NOT what you paid for. First we lost our much better suite service, now we have lost the two wines that I and my husband most order; Decoy now $19 and Mer Loleil only by the bottle. I have been looking at Holland and if we book any other cruises after Jan. '25, that is where we will go. What really has kept us on X the past year is the non-smoking casino.
  16. The Queen's Staircase is worth seeing. Just walk there from the port. It's about a mile I would guess. T
  17. I believe X announced last year that there would be no more "revolutionizing" of S or M class ships, only the regularly scheduled maintinance These usually include soft goods upgrades and some furniture upgrades as well as mechanical.
  18. I would call the Captain's club number (s). Most people have to hold for a long time lately. Maybe after the "sales" are over in a day or two, you might have better luck. If you are booked with a TA, you need to call them.
  19. Is Deocy cab still at the premium package limit? How about Mer Soliel chard?
  20. Which terminal was that, please?
  21. I don't see asparagus in that photo. I wonder if I could order it without the eggs? Will be eating in Luminae in 5 weeks and hope to see the new menus on EQ.
  22. I believe Star class suites get access to Coastal Kitchen and suite Lounge all day. If that is correct, please advise if the Suite Lounge still serves complimentary beer and wine from 11 AM to late night. If not on a ship with Star class suites, does the suite lounge offer any complimentary drinks for suite guests.?
  23. I know this is in terminal 25. Is it at any other terminals at Port Everglades?
