  1. This was a second cruise of our b2b. We ate mostly in Luminae and the food was as good as expected. . First morning we got the famous pistastio rolls and told our waiter they were not as good as usual. Two mornings later, he brought the "bread lady" around to us at breakfast and advised we should re-try the rolls. Lo and behold they were much more "gooey" than before. This continued for the remainder of our cruises. Early on we asked if the 4 oz. filet was always available and our waiter said it was. We both ordered it a few times when nothing on the menu appealed to us. We never mentioned the "children's menu". Of course, the wait staff in Luminae was absolutely outstanding. We had lunch in the OVC a few times and the food was widely varied and delicious as usual. Noting to complain about the food or staff on Equinox.
  2. Not OP, but was also on this cruise. Yes, plenty of drink service in the casino. And many reminders in various venues and in the Today. that active gamblers get free drinks. I guess our favorite reason for cruising EQ is the lovely crew! So many remember us by name after our 4 cruises with EQ since the restart.
  3. We left EQ yesterday after b2b cruises. We initially signed up for Luggage Valet as we had done many times before the covid pause. The paper work didn't look right to us as the luggage sticker only showed ATL. That was our connecting airport, not our final destination. So our butler took the paperwork to be checked out. Turns out, it was wrong. Should have showed final destination, just as we thought. New paper work arrived in about an hour. This time luggage tags only showed departure airport of FLL. We didn't trust this one either. So cancelled Luggage Valet and did the usual red tags and picked up our own luggage at the terminal. I hope no one had any problems with receiving their luggage back home.
  4. What brand is the champagne they are pouring, please? I am hoping for Cattier on EQ in 2 days.
  5. Luminae will make nearly anything you wish if you order it 24 hours in advance. We have been telling our servers lately that we love Indian food. So a few times each cruise, we get a surprise Indian side dish in addition to whatever we ordered. We also let our servers know that we like extra green vegetables every dinner. Never been disappointed yet.
  6. They are not supposed to be hidden, exactly. Like no putting under a cushion. Just out where people are not expecting.
  7. We found 4 on EQ in Jan. Feb. b2b. Fist time we have seen them, tho I have read about them for several years. My husband really got into searching. Hoping for a couple more on EQ again for b2b starting April 24.
  8. There are public showers in the gym locker rooms. Wine should be in your carry if possible. Otherwise, your luggage may end up in the "naughty" room, delaying cabin delivery.
  9. The "wellness check" is in fact a health questionnaire that can be done on the app 24 hrs. prior to check in or at check in at the pier. There is no need to fill out a time for this. Probably another glitch in the IT system. Never have seen a time for this in any of many Celebrity cruises, both pre and post covid. I think there are 5 questions on the questiionnaire. Takes maybe 10 seconds.
  10. We will be on EQ next week and I wonder what run has taken the place of Zacapa? The Zacapa Old Fashioned was my favorite drink of all time!
  11. Gotta love that health questionnaire. I'm over 80 so I pretty much have muscle and body aches every day. And fatigue, depending on how energetic I get in a zumba class!
  12. Not a fan of Lawn Club Grill, but I would take Sil if in a Retreat suite cabin for the full Retreat experience. Equinox got the Michael's club update to Retreat Lounge and a partial, but incomplete, Retreat Sun Deck. However, if in an Aqua cabin I would take Equinox, as there are many more Aqua cabins on Ref which were added to the deck plans when she was built. That could make Blu pretty crowded and noisy as compared to the Blu on Equinox.
  13. Let's look at the OP's question #2. It looks like he is asking if refundable deposit is refundable and he has concluded that it is NOT. That is wrong. NONREFUNDABBLE deposit is just that, NON refundable. His wording says he has a refundable deposit. A refundable deposit is just that...refundable up until final payment is due.
  14. Thanks for your answer about Luggage Valet. Of course you never use it! Lucky you to live so close!
  15. The wine menus/lists are just a guide to what may be available. As Jelayne noted above, many wines have become available since late last year, and many more changed out. Just go as is and update on board if you feel it would be worth it for you after you can see what is actually available on board and at different venues. Cannot express enough that availability varies from venue to venue on the same ship.
  16. So, was there no Luggage Valet on your cruise? There was a couple of cruises back on EQ.
  17. Please tell us if you see any whales. They've been very visable the last couple of months. People seeing them from the beach and from the ship. I have a friend sailing this week who hopes to see whales!
  18. Glad to hear Vanieeth is still in Luminae. He is great! I am pretty tired of Pete. He does the same shows each cruise. Oh well, the CD doesn't matter a lot to me unless it is either Eddy or Sue.
  19. Who is the CD and who were the concierges in the Retreat? I believe Laura is still on board, but unfortunately, I think she is leaving next week as we board. If that is so, do you know who will replace her?
  20. Usually a regular balcony cabin costs less and other than the possible use of spa classes or Persian Garden, what would be the reason to pay more for Aqua class if not planning on eating in Blu?
  21. Excursions, spa, specialty restaurants etc. reservations must be made by you. This "concierge" is for all classes of cabins, except suites, which have their own butlers and concierges. They are more for general questions about the ship, ports and available services on board.
  22. I wouldn't enjoy my cruise at all if that were the cabin arrangement. I'd rather stay home.
  23. All classic cocktails and small martinis are covered under the Classic Package. In fact, all cocktails, except at World Class Bar (and probably Eden on E class ships),and sometimes the Martini bar are made will "well liquor" unless you specify your premium liquor, even with the Premium package. So if you are happy with basic liquors, no need to upgrade your drink package. The better wines are the primary reason for upgrading.
