  1. We may have seen something very similar yesterday. Back in February we purchased several gift cards from both Allstate and AARP to pay the balance of our Celebration cruise in 2 weeks. They were all ecards and one had a balance left. I didn't indicate properly the one that had the balance so started searching one card at a time. The one with the balance, showed the balance....All the others came up as invalid on different devices, browsers, os's etc. We figured the hell with it, got the one with the balance...rest don't matter as they paid the cruise...thought they shoulda shown a zero balance..but didn't matter.
  2. If memory serves, Celebration has the new, "upgraded" internet service, Starlink? We're on the Celebration starting May 20. I have a video appointment scheduled with my Dr. Nothing crucial, but if the internet service can handle it, I want to have the discussion. We've purchased the value internet package, but I've no issue upgrading for the day, if needed, assuming thats still an option. Just looking for input from anyone that has done any sort video conferencing, Zoom calls whatever onboard. Call is scheduled on one of our sea days heading back from our ABC cruise. Thanks.
  3. Indeed. Way back on one of our first cruises on the Pride, before the whiners started ruining the Pride, we were in line for our whatever set dining time. Heading into the MDR there was a larger mural, of a large breasted woman and little cherubs around. Two young boys, less than 10 yrs old I recall, walked up to the mural, reached up an "touched the woman's breast's" looked each other and one goes, I touched boobies!! Was hysterical at the time...folks in line chuckled, mom was probably mortified, but the MDR opened, everyone that saw went in chuckling a bit.
  4. Ok, thats what I was wondering, will we get a "thanks for playing, better luck next cruise" type of message saying no upgrade for you!
  5. The "is it worth it" question consistently comes up on these and other social media forums, which has spawned all of these detailed calculators, spreadsheets, and other assorted "tools" to determine the worth of the package. To us it's simple. Can we drink enough beverages across all of the alcoholic and non-alcoholic offerings onboard to equal the per day cost of the package and we go from there. That said, one difference between RCI and Carnival is, Carnival has the 15 drink per day limit, but max drink cost of I believe $20 per drink. RCI has no per day drink limit, but a per drink cost limit of $14 I think. However RCI does a couple of things "better", like being able to use the drink package at their "private" spots like Coco Cay and Labadee. Also something trivial is RCI package covers "fresh squeezed" OJ at breakfast, which Carnival does not. I'm at least $10-12 into the per day cost just on OJ alone!!
  6. Totally trivial question, just curious. We're sailing on Harmony next week, 5/13. We have a couple of Royal Up bids submitted. We're just curious will they stay in our planner as submitted until the cruise happens, or could we get any sort of acknowledgement that they are "done" with the bids, no more upgrades being given? Or could it be something like a guarantee cabin where you may not know until right up to boarding day if the bid was accepted?
  7. Interesting. Carnival states pretty clearly with the information for their Cheers drink package, a 5 minute wait between drinks, I couldn't find what that was for RCI. Most times it's a none issue, but pretty silly when a bar offers a floater to accompany a rum runner, to serve the rum runner, then tell you, you have to wait 5 minutes for the floater!!!
  8. Nope...not for a second person at all...all for me!! I been around this rodeo for a while, and I also prefer to follow the rules and not contribute to ruining anyones fun. But it's really simple. One of my cruise indulgences is to enjoy a cigar or 2, in the appropriate smoking section, with a bourbon or scotch or whiskey. Takes a while to good through a decent cigar, and one or two drinks...usually not enough...I enjoy most of my brown liquors neat.......so just looking for ways to keep my glass "full" as simply as I can. Doubles would be nice, but can't always seem to get them. As for floaters...I totally get the "good tipping" part....though many bars will provide or offer a floater with a rum drink..say a rum runner...for an additional cost usually. If Royal does not offer that...maybe then nice tipping will "fix that"!!
  9. If you get a frozen drink..often times a rum drink..the bartender will "float" another shot of rum on top of the drink. Some bars but the shot in a sort of test tube, and insert it in the drink, and the extra shot sorta "floats" in the tube until it's pulled out.
  10. We pulled the trigger on bought the DBP today for our Harmony cruise in a couple of weeks. Like many, we stalked the Royal site and today the price was down low enough for us to buy it. Here's my silly questions. Does Royal require you to wait a set period of time between ordering drinks? If you got a frozen rum drink, will they allow a floater with the drink, have you wait, or do they even do floaters??
  11. I've seen the exact same, saw it just a couple of hours ago today!! A couple of days ago the Chops+1 package was the same...lower cost...was sold out..."regular" cost was available. The other thing I get a kick out of are the reservation times. The reservation times for the individual restaurants, much more times available over the less desireable times of the packages.
  12. Ugh. Ok..thanks. We're a few points shy of diamond status.
  13. Are doubles allowed if you have the DBP? Read on here someone saying a bartender would not serve doubles, and I can't recall last times I sailed on RCI with the package if they were covered or not!! Also, is there somewhere to get current drink prices? Thanks.
  14. Another slight change. If your bid is not selected, does it ever show up as anything other than submitted prior to the cruise? We're 21 days out, have 2 bids submitted, just curious if we'll see a no-go or it'll just sit until the cruise.
  15. Cool...Thanks. What about a "coffee bar" in the WJ. For like "specialty coffee's"...espressos, cappuccinos etc....
  16. Curious if there is a bar/service bar in the Windjammer on Harmony of the Seas? We've not cruised on Royal for a while, but last few times we were on the Anthem and enjoyed "frequenting" the bar and Seattles Best coffee spot on Anthem. May sound odd, but having those bars available in the WJ during breakfast, "helped" us make use of the drink package.
  17. Well...they kinda sorta do, or thats what they did for us. We had a cruise we booked before the whole "COVID thing" that we paid for using discounted cards through AARP. When that cruise was canceled, we realized our "worse fears" of having several thousand dollars "tied up" in those gift cards. Oh well, so sad for us. We went through a few rounds of canceling and rescheduling and refunding. When the dust settled, Carnival sent us refunds in the form of eGift cards as what we ended up booking and finally sailing on was a lower cost cruise. Not sure if that was because the cards we originally used were ecards on which, but Carnival sent email with links to the refunded card. Even the email address was from Carnival Gift Card Refund etc.
  18. Possibly...possibly not. This was back in 2019.....I don't recall what the "status" of the RCI mobile app was back then...I don't recall using it...or if said barcode was visible on their website or not. While I did "stalk" RCI's website regularly for our cabin assignment...I didn't look for any input on that process here or on any other forum or social media site.
  19. Last cruise we took on Royal we booked a guarantee balcony on the Anthem. I also stalked the RCI website looking for our cabin assignment. Somewhere along the way our booking showed a muster station assignment. I mentioned this to my wife, wondered could it be a "sign" of where our cabin would be...knowing it was not an absolute. Muster station was on the starboard side of the ship, forward. Well...our cabin assignment ended up being...on the starboard side, forward. Probably just a coincidence....but...just sayin.
  20. 👍 Thanks, we'll be ready for later tonight!!
  21. We'll be...one of many checking in to our RCI cruise in May tonight at midnight EST. Looks like from reading through these posts, our most efficient way to check-in, get an arrival time, and leave the rest of the "travel info" for later is to use the phone app. I had planned to use my laptop, but seems reading here, I can't as easily just skip to the arrival time. I came across a .pdf document that goes over the check-in process on the phone app. Looks like when you select check-in from the app, a list of options is displayed....starts with Travel Info...Arrival Time...Vaccination...Health and Safety. The doc outlines it all, how to add passport info, take picture etc. But I can just select Arrival Time...fill in whatever is asked for, finish and be done, add the rest of the information later? We've not cruised on RCI since around 2019, and have no recollection of how check-in went back then, just want to have an idea for what we'll do later tonight. Thanks.
  22. We have "back to back" cruises planned out of POM in May. Cruising on Royals Harmony of the Seas, then cruising on Carnival Celebration right after. After we debark we'll need to almost get from one end of the port to the other effectively, going from Royals Terminal A to Carnivals Terminal F. We initially thought walking could be an option, but that sounds unlikely. Does not appear to be a "safe" path to walk between the terminals. Recently I was made aware there could be a transfer service provide by the port authority, something that can be arranged by the cruise line. I'm trying to find out more detail about this to determine if it's a viable option to get from one terminal to the other. I've reached out to contacts info I've found for the POM and so far no reply. Thought I'd toss this out here to see if anyone has heard or used this service.
  23. Interesting. I've tried doing searches and exploring sites related to the POM and have not seen this, but will look harder after seeing these posts. Thanks.
  24. While I think I know the answer to my question, but I figured I'd ask you anyways. We're doing a um.....hmmm....I suppose a "side to side" in May, however it's the Harmony to the Carnival Celebration. I have to think this complimentary transfer you mentioned is for RCI to RCI cruises?
  25. I went back in to check on something, and now see the same....gone. On the app it shows up as sold out. Somethings wonky.
