  1. A phone call to room service is still $5.00 each time, even if you pay the $15.00 fee correct?
  2. Upon boarding the NCL Jade in 2011 at Barcelona, there was a liquor store after check-in, right at the gangplank. Many passengers made multiple trips to the liquor store, then onto the ship carrying liquor, wine, and cases of beer. No one was checking anything. 😁
  3. An hour would allow someone to go to the buffet, for example, but I agree that 30 minutes would be even better. Meanwhile, there is currently no limit, which is awful. 😠
  4. Princess needs to add one-hour timers to the loungers. When you leave, you have one hour to return, or your stuff may be moved. Yes, people can return just to reset the timers, but it actually helps with the problem. I've seen it done in Cancun.πŸ‘Œ
  5. I checked and was demoted from green to "incomplete". A bit later, I went back to green. πŸ‘
  6. Princess probably hasn't gotten around to it yet. I will check mine later today.
  7. After trudging through 51 pages on this thread, my first thought was that Princess should have replaced the barrel chairs with fainting couches prior to making this announcement. 😁 🀣 πŸ™Š
  8. That VISA requirement stopped us from going to Brazil when we cruised around S.A. on the Crown. We chose to board in Buenos Aires instead. (I had also been to Brazil in the past.) Brazil's foolish visa requirements are said to be reciprocal due to our requirements. Brazil conveniently ignores the fact that many Brazilians illegally immigrate to America on tourist visas, which Americans don't do to them. Meanwhile, this will cost them a lot in lost tourist revenue.
  9. Good luck getting replies. I will be on the Island Princess in September and have started a couple of threads asking about the condition of the ship as well as about a section of balcony cabins on the Emerald deck, aft. I have also asked people currently on the ship who are blogging. Few replies. It seems like Island cruisers don't frequent Cruise Critic. ❓❓❓
  10. Ships will likely be full both months with lots of kids on summer break.
  11. I was head-butted a few times by the deer. "Feed me!!!"🦌 LOL!
  12. What did you think of the condition of the Island Princess? Good food? Adequate staff?
  13. I'm surprised that so little is posted on this subforum regarding the Island Princess since it hosts many of the RTW cruises and operates on a year-round schedule. Do those cruisers not spend time of this board? Previously, I inquired if anyone had anything to share about the Island, and it was "crickets". 😴
  14. A new entry application and fee will be required for visitors to Schengen countries next year. Called an ETIAS instead of a VISA, you will need one to go there. The initial fee is only $8.00, but we all know what happens to low "initial" fees. 😠 New requirements to travel to Europe will be a β€˜pain’ for travelers in 2024: Lee Abbamonte | Watch (msn.com)
  15. You are correct. Your adapter would be a better choice. I was trying to envision something lighter than the heavy-duty 3-prong splitter you pictured. Would a lightweight 2-wire extension cord with a 3-receptacle block on the end work for 2 CPAP machines? Do CPAPs usually have a ground plug? ❓
  16. This story simply doesn't pass the "smell test". How old are these "children"? Are they actually teenagers? If you contact Security with the time/ place, and express your concern, I'm sure that they can review CCTV footage and tell you what is true. Meanwhile, you are describing an event you didn't witness, and may be surprised at what you learn. I've taught high schoolers for 40+ years and know that even really nice kids can be devious occasionally. I've also witnessed incidents where angry parents refused to watch a security video of their child's actions because it would prove that they had been deceived.
  17. After reading your post, I looked at the before and after photos. It doesn't look like they could have slipped cabins in on deck 7 aft, without removing the cabins on Deck 8 first. I'm hoping we have new cabins as I've read that they have slightly larger showers and TVs mounted on the wall in front of the beds.
  18. Thanks for replying! I was wondering if these are new cabins, since cabins existed in this location before the refit. Cabins were added above them, but comparing old and new pictures, it's hard to tell. I guess the question is whether or not they were replaced? My main concern is vibration at night.
  19. Have any of you C.C. members stayed in E-701 through E-715? Emerald deck, starboard side, aft. 1. Is there a lot more vibration than in other areas of the ship? Is it constant/excessive or only during docking? 2. Are there 4 chairs on the balconies instead of two? 3. Much soot/noise? 4. Are the beds decent or worn out? We've been invited to bid for upgrades. These balcony cabins are 234 sq. ft. so we wouldn't gain much moving to a Premium Balcony (244 Sq ft.), and we would likely lose the "completely covered" aspect. (Traveling to Iceland.) Would it be worth it?
  20. Or use this: Sunbeam 3-Outlet Wall Taps | Dollar Tree And this: Grounded US to Grounded European Schuko Power Adapter Plug, 110220Volts.com
  21. Disposable poly gloves are available at Walmart for a penny apiece. I bought two pkgs yesterday to share with my group for our Sept. cruise, and plan to use them at the buffet, etc. Handling shared serving utensils is gross! (They are located by the Ziploc bags.) Great Value Disposable Poly Food Gloves, 120-Count, Latex-Free, One Size Fits Most - Walmart.com I'm kind of surprised cruise lines don't offer them to cut down on Noroviruses.
  22. I go to the dollar store and buy a 3-socket splitter for $1.25. (Sometimes two.) I do this before every cruise and abandon them when we fly home. I carry my cell phone, laptop, Water Pik, and a couple of throwaway night lights. My cell phone and Water Pik use the same power block, so I charge the phone overnight and the Water Pik during the day. Often, the cabin steward can supply 3-way splitters if you ask. No doubt they have been left behind by people like me. πŸ˜‰
  23. You can use your medallion to purchase laundry tokens in the laundry room. The cost will be added to your shipboard account. $6.00 for a wash/dry. An additional cost for detergent. Be sure to check the machines before you buy. There are many reports of them operating token-free. 😁
