  1. When I was in Vancouver in late September. both the Royal and the Discovery left closer to Midnight. The previous week, the Grand was suppose to leave at 4. Then rescheduled to leave at 3. But do to software issues, was delayed until around 9 PM. If you are in Oregon, then you are pretty safe flying/driving in the same day. I know a couple of people who were biting nails on a morning flight out of LAX. Got in, 90 minutes through immigration, 30 minutes to the pier....and were a little stressed by the time they got on the ship. I flew in a few days before to enjoy Vancouver. Tidal charts are fairly accurate. But final times are usually posted maybe a week ahead. Too many variables for me.
  2. They need the space for the $10 sale. Is CC not open longer on Sea Days? Is the MDR open longer hours than CC? Even Suite breakfast extends their hours on Sea Days.
  3. I can just imagine the noise level. It's difficult enough to carry on a conversation on a single deck.
  4. Club Class is a dining experience. You will have a designated area (usually deck 6) where reservations are not needed. Walk up/walk in. Most times, no waiting. It is open for breakfast and dinner every day and lunch on sea days/late port days. As far as breakfast, lunch, dinner goes. It will be the same menu as the Main Dining room with a few extra dishes in the evening. This is different than the Full Suite breakfast at either Sabatini's or the Crown Grill. It is easier to request the same wait staff (not necessarily the same table). I think there are 3-4 teams. All are exceptional.
  5. Someone told me a long time ago to put my keys in the refrigerator. It served as a reminder that I needed to take something home...like a plate of leftovers, etc. Not sure how it will work now that keys have chips in them. But it worked as a reminder for me.
  6. @ceilidh1 So very happy to see your posts again. I enjoyed your Alaska journey this summer. No daughter tag-a-long on this cruise? I am not sure how Princess is going to survive this port. Your challenges from the airport to the port are frustrating. I guess they are hoping everyone flies in and takes their transfers. Enjoy your Christmas cruise. I know you will have fun in the sun.
  7. Go up to the right hand corner where the ... are. Click on Report You will have options (do this on your post #67
  8. Another thread stated that Sabatini's is now $35/pp and Crown Grill is $39/pp. That seems like a little steep for my blood. The food is good. The service is outstanding.
  9. The Ruby has a few for $$$ restaurants to avoid if you want "free". With that said, there are so many other options: Salty Dog Grill (Lido) has great hot french fries and a decent hamburger. Slices (Lido) has good pizza International Cafe Piazza deck 5 has a nice selection of morning pastries and lunch small plates. All MDR (main dining rooms) are included in your fare. I am not a buffet person, but you can always find "something" to eat. There are no more midnight buffets. Coffee and cones (Lido) have soft serve ice cream You can also order room service (limited menu) and have a "picnic" in your room By the way, with the medallion/app, you can order from room service and they will find you on the ship.
  10. Is IT ever ready when something is released? Just saying.
  11. Yes, you are correct. I have asked and received...even a bar of soap. But who knows what will be on board on my next cruise. It is always a surprise grab bag.
  12. I, too, have not seen a reduction in suite perks. If any, they are happening at every category (example: pen/pad) and/or elite amenities. I will admit that suite faring seems to have increased.
  13. Really? Google has never sent me a summary. Give the medallion and medallion Class App a try. If you don't like it, don't use it. I don't understand what all the hoopla is about?
  14. I rarely use the elevators, even with not so good knees. I think the bottom line to this issue is with the attitude of the person who needs room in the elevator. Kindness and a light hearted attitude will almost always buy you an elevator ticket.
  15. I have decided that waiting for Princess to actually do what they say is like holding your breath under water. Do you remember the Medallion roll out? (YEARS later) Do you remember booking a particular ship to only have you moved over? (for me it was three ships total...at which point I said "no thank you). Do you remember: We are going to fix the Caribbean Princess (or fill in the black) propulsion problem that took years? Do you remember.... I was taught to think things through BEFORE making an grand announcement.
  16. I've only used EZair once before. I was too cheap to pre-pay for seats of Air Canada so waited until check-in to choose my seats. But you are correct. I am using EZair for my next cruise. Made sure that Princess "paid" the airlines and I received a ticket number before I filled in all of the important stuff. Even had to "open" an account for my sister since I booked two different reservations (long and complicated story). I could be a travel agent with all of my "experiences", but gladly defer to my current TA. I give her kudos for keeping track of more than one client. I'm just not wired to do that. Sometimes, I take on the challenge to do it all myself (to save her the aggravation since she doesn't earn a commission for air fare. Ha Ha....takes me hours! (pat on the back)
  17. Is this the first time traveler is using TSA Pre-check?
  18. Does any one know if he was doing a b2b2b? Approved for first two legs. Slipped through third? If an employee, should have known better. Princess settled but I think he wanted more. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
  19. I have Global Entry with TSA Pre-check. Why do I bother? I have bilateral knee replacements and am always pulled out of the line. But the pre-check line is usually shorter. https://www.tsa.gov/travel/frequently-asked-questions/if-i-am-tsa-precheckr-eligible-am-i-guaranteed-expedited There is a spot in EZ Air AND on the airlines’ website to check and/or add your known travelers number. I don’t leave anything up to Princess. I follow up and double check everything to make sure all the “i” are dotted and “t” are crossed.
  20. @kywildcatfanone Yes, the old paper wellness form is on the app. Very generic. Not sure if your voyage requires any Covid tests. One questions: In the 7 days before boarding, have you had any symptoms of COVID-19? Yes. No
  21. I was looking at a Princess cabin photo and noticed a barrel chair in an OceanView. @Shelly97060 do you have more than the desk chair in your cabin? Are all dining rooms being used? Dine My Way won't let me pick Savoy or Vivaldi. Are there pastries at the Good Spirits bar on deck 5? Thank you
  22. Agree, but with a family suite, you will also get suite perks for everyone staying in this category. If you are looking for connecting mini-suites, you give up suite perks. OP never stated why they had concerns about the connection. Did they want it/did they want to avoid them?
  23. Reminiscent of Traditional Diners that had a set reservation and then showed up in Anytime. Their original table sat empty because they wanted a different time for the night. Let the party begin!
  24. Day 3: I think all is good/finally fixed. I had to upload again my vax card. Of course, I never heard from the Ocean Navigators after I sent them an email. I think I am finally good for my next cruise. Only took me 2 hours to get my seats on EZ AIr tickets. Really wish there were clear instructions about their rules. I know EZ Air is a third party travel company...but having a codeshare flight really complicates the problems. Never the less, at least this portion/thread can come to a close. Thank you everyone for chiming in.
  25. Thank you for making my day. I do not have the trophy for longest phone call hold (I think @Ombudhas that honor). But...I was on the phone with different agents today...for 2 hours...Calls to: Airline, Code Share Airline, EZ Air, and on my computer to "fix" a variety of airline issues. I think I'm good for now, but you bet I will be checking in frequently. I have about as much faith in Princess as I do in my grandson who keeps promising me that he won't sneak Halloween candy into his room at night. Mahalo, thank you, Gracias, Merci, do jeh, danke, grazie.....and on.
