  1. But ... it's got to be better than when princess was sailing from houston. Where fog would close the ship channel, and the ship would arrive hours late. The second cruise I was on, round-tip houston ... rather than the ship arriving around 0600, we anchored in fog for a few hours, and actually arrived around 1100. Lots of people missed their flights. At the beginning of the cruise, we left from houston, and had to divert to galveston to disembark a sick passenger. Must be one of the shortest princess cruises ever for that guy!
  2. In November, they announce it will be released in early december ... more-or-less in a month... If it's really February, that's ... more-or-less ... in three months... THAT is some amazing project management. The only thing that is suprising about this ... I thought they dumped Accenture. P.S. those of you who still have Accenture Medallion lanyards should hold on to them. They might be worth a lot on eBay, someday...
  3. If Princess has a sense of humor (or honesty) it will be released on April first.
  4. Maybe the global experience innovators came up with the name...
  5. I am afraid they will be disappointed. As it's usually the maitre d', not 'an officer' at the champagne waterfall. Also, the waterfall has been really down-sized over the years. It used to start from the floor, and go up ... like a christmas tree. Now, just disappointing. More like champagne rapids...
  6. You seem a little paranoid, as I wasn't even referring to you. There are often, including in this thread, posts without any caveat.
  7. Of course it is. The people who post that just haven't been on enough cruises...
  8. But, they had a 2-year break to make it work during the pandemic. Apparently, even that, wasn't enough time...
  9. This happened to me as well. And, I'm 99 44/100 % sure that the deadbolt was engaged. I understand that in an emergency, security may need to enter regardless of the deadbolt. But, random stewards should not have that power.
  10. People always claim princess has spies who read this board. Now that this has been highlighted, it shouldn't be long until Princess charges as well.
  11. Princess issued a press release that coke freestyle machines would be coming to their ships. Never happened. Back in 2018ish, Princess issued many, many releases about the date various ships would be available for use with medallions. Virtually none of those were true. It was sadly comical. e.g. https://www.carnivalcorp.com/news-releases/news-release-details/princess-cruises-expands-ocean-medallion-australia-and-more?c=140690&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=2283431
  12. I was sick for like three or four days. Lucky me. No need to quarantine me. I could not leave the area of the cabin restroom.
  13. I think carnival has enough bean counters... ...that they have priced all the packages to be a win for the company. Pretty much like the casino.
  14. I guess I'm naiive. I thought scooters had keys.
  15. I remember being on Emerald probably 10 years ago... It was an older crowd, and each night there were 15-20 scooters parked outside one of the main dining rooms. (Which in itself is odd, as usually the passenger drives to the table, and the junior waiter valets the scooter for them.) Anyway, we are leaving the dining room on night, and there is a gent very upset yelling at the headwaiter at the door... ...someone had taken his scooter. I didn't think we were going to need scooby doo ... the scooter was almost certainly somewhere on the ship. And, the gent should have read his parking stub, I'm sure the head waiter is not responsible for your scooter or its contents...
  16. My observation: often when things go wrong, and they get a lot of negative publicity, companies like to change the name. If I were cynical, I would say they do this to drop the negative reputation, with out having to change anything. After the carnival triumph floated around the gulf of mexico for a few days with out power... ...Carnival changed the ship name. https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/carnival-triumph-disaster-a-drama-of-discomfort/2013/02/15/021265f8-76e2-11e2-8f84-3e4b513b1a13_story.html The ship is now the Carnival Sunrise.
  17. Well, they did end their association with Accenture, so to some extent the people working now have to be new.
  18. I don't believe princess allows scooters on tenders any longer. I remember many years ago, people having scooters on shore on princess cays. I'm sure enough law suits ended that. Like many things...
  19. Knock me over with a feather. I am anxious to see if the "Global Experience Innovators" are still the authors.
  20. Have you followed the three previous threads "Ocean Medallion App, Pt -?" ... each with thousands of replies? I'm not sure a single data point is significant.
  21. This is a theme that recures here from time to time... Why doesn't princess sail from my town? And, I always wonder the same about my town. Is there any documentation that royal and carnival are making a bundle? What has happened in the past ... some cruise lines get so many ships that they have to look for other homeports. There are only so many Saturday / Sunday berths in Miami / Ft. Lauderdale / Port Canaveral...
