  1. This is unfortunately true re the temperature of the one side of the Samba. We noticed it immediately when we arrived and asked to move to the other section. The doughy bread is cheese bread and is common in Brazilian steakhouses like Fogo de Chiao. Not all the salads and vegetables were preplated. There were also cheeses and prosciutto as well there and olives. I found the meat cooked perfectly as we wanted medium rare. We told our server we prefer to eat the meat with the salad so we could balance the experience. My husband got up to get his own flan. It was a nice experience. We went 2x on the October 23rd sailing. We were in and out of there in 50 minutes. Far better than Chops where its always slow and we thankfully skipped this time, and Giovannis where our lunch, while good, was 1130a to 1p for a bowel of pasta and a piece of steak. We skipped dessert because we just wanted to get out of there.
  2. I have questions for the grand suite, owners suite and royal suite for the Voyager class. Do you get free voom as the Oasis and Quatum class do with their higher levels? Do you get any free drink package? TIA.
  3. I was just on the Allure and did prebook a pedicure as we were traveling around Florida 7 days prior. While in the spa, I mentioned a massage so my tech booked it for me for the next day. I checked the price afterwards. $189 for a deep tissue 50 minute massage that was not including tip or diamond discount. I ended up getting one in Costa Maya at Hayhu for $40. I get massages and reflexology at home 1x/month so I am familiar with pricing and a good masseuse. There is no way I'd pay that much for 50 minutes. Maybe for a 50 minute facial plus a massage.
  4. Ive actually done this. Its about a 15-20 minute walk around 3/4 mile. Not difficult if you have no issues with ambulation.
  5. absolutely. I never heard anything the sailing prior (not that I really paid attention as we kept to ourselves) on our Zuckerberg group which had 500 people in it. I would have been pretty annoyed as well especially if I was one who visited the pools. I would have been annoyed about Samba which I really liked on the Allure.
  6. wow. We were on the 10/23 sailing and went to the Solarium 1x on the last day. Plus we went to Samba 2x.
  7. It looked like we took the highway then a back way. I saw a sign for Almaplena to the left then Hayhu to the right. It would probably have been a more scenic ride with the coast. We unfortunately had to stop on the way back so my husband could double-check the bag for his underwater camera. In that 2 minutes, a few biting flies got into car and gave us jigger type welts that we are still scratching on our faces and arms. So yes, the coastline may have been a better ride!!
  8. Hi just wanted to update that we rented bikes from Beach bum electric bikes on 10/27 which was about 0.4 miles from international pier. We were going to ride around island but my ankle injury from a few weeks ago started acting up so we decided to ride to Playa Corona and then to the Money bar for snorkeling. My husband has a giant water bag for his free diving fins and the shop gave us bungee cords to secure bag. I own an Aventon electric bike at home and have ridden the Pedego bikes before so I was pretty comfortable. Helmets and locks are supplied. We spent 6 hours doing about 20 miles total according to my garmin watch as we rode around the back roads for a while along the coast then turned around. As with any city, or populated area, one needs to be careful with traffic. It's true in Rome, Barcelona, Naples, San Juan, New York, Philadelphia...and it's true in Cozumel. The snorkeling by far from land is the best as always from Money Bar. It's also pretty good at Playa Corona. We just grabbed drinks at both spots as Playa will let yoy snorkel there for $10/pp if you buy food. Both places surprisingly with 5 ships in were not crowded at all. Riding bikes is really fun in Cozumel. There is a designated bike lane in the city. Yes its annoying especially around the cruise ports and the scooters are a PIA but I really enjoy it There are minimarts XOXO about to grab a water.
  9. Watched it last night on the Allure in my cabin and I believe we woke up our neighbors when it went to 6-5. Go Phillies!!!
  10. We either go to specialty dining or wj for dinner. Can't stand MDR. We also do off times in WJ.
  11. I have never been nor desire to go to Maya Chan 😉 😉 but I think Hayhu is south of cruise port. And I think you dont have to buy the package as I saw people going there for lunch and just hanging out. The cab fare up and back is included.
  12. Well after waiting months for this experience we finally made it to Hayhu. This is hands down the best place in Mahahual or Costa Maya. We opted for the beach jungle package which is $250. We paid a $50 deposit prior. We used whatsapp to communicate and boy did we as our port time changed 2x!! There is a $100 food credit. We were given detail instructions for the pickup. Gabriel picked us up in his taxi. After traveling south of Mahahual near Almaplena, we were delivered to Hayhu. We had 2 beds and towels were supplied all day if needed. Drinks and food were great. We opted for beer and soda plus appetizers so our food portion was $91 which was included with $100 food credit. I got a massage for 30 minutes for $40. 60 minutes was $60. It was phenomenal. The real star of this place is the unbelievable reef and snorkeling. We were stunned. We were out almost the entire day exploring as we have our own gear. The reef is better than the money bar at cozumel. It was fantastic. No sargassum, clear beautiful water, NO VENDORS OR HAWKERS!!!! This is a snorkelling paradise with a terrific team of staff. I hate to share because I don't want anyone to know. There are also kayaks and SUPs.
  13. She will be able to stream easily. Not sure when you are going. Im on the Allure now and watched house of the dragon easily at the gym. Yes you have to log off one device to connect to another. And yes, it makes sense!!
  14. We tried 150 last night. I had an Urban Martini which was probably the best martini I've ever had. Grey goose, lemon grass, basil and cucumber. Made tableside. I had braised pork belly and the duck. Husband had 2 appetizers and the Lobster Thermador plus the peanut butter tart. I couldn't eat their desserts due to allergies so I did a sundae at Johnny Rockets. Food and service at 150 were outstanding. Its not food I would normally eat and I did have a limited selection due to allergies but the selection was excellent. They did offer to try to tweak the other selections but I said no, I was happy to eat what I ordered.
  15. Thanks for this. We are scheduled for the December 18th 5 day cruise then spending holidays in St. Thomas. My first time on Voyager and actually my 1st time in a suite!!
  16. We are on the Allure now and have the UDP. We ate at the hibachi first night, Sabor for lunch yesterday and Samba last night. All 3 were excellent. The hibachi is 1000x better than Chops imo. We had the Chops lunch with the Key. Its ok but I've had the chops meals so many times on so many ships, it gets boring imo. Sabors lunch had awesome margeritas that were pretty strong. The guacamole with homemade chips was outstanding. So based on my 2 day in experience, I would definitely book the hibachi for dinner, the Samba for dinner and Sabor for lunch. Fyi - make early times for all so you have time to digest before bed!! edit: we are doing 150 tonight. I'll give my opinion. It looks great!
  17. They were doing this on my Allure of the Seas sailing this week. Offered people in a junior suite $300 plus the difference in cruise fare to switch to a balcony. I would actually switch if they gave me all the retreat benefits. I'd just go to an inside or OV and go to the retreat.
  18. Wanted to share that the internet is so good this week on the AllureI watched House of the Dragon on HBO at the gym on my phone. You had a great itinerary. Love your pictures!!
  19. yep. We are actually going to Eagles game as we have family outside Houston who are Philadelphia transplants and we started arranging this 30 seconds after schedule released. BIL got a suite for us. He's working on Astro box now. The TVs have espn but no FS at least on the Allure.
  20. We streamed the Phillies game yesterday as we left Fort Lauderdale ON OUR PHONES ðŸĪŠ as the ship had the football games on. Reason 1134 why to keep phone handy especially when a rabid Philadelphia sports fan. 😁 Edit to add gotta love Elon. This has been great so far with Voom on the Allure.
  21. yes. It's not difficult. We've done this before from hotel and cruise. I'll be doing it on Thursday so I'll post pictures. Last time we went to Sky Reef and snorkeled. Another time we went to Money bar and snorkeled. We went around the island loop March 2021 on a land vacation. We rode to Punta Sur on another land vacation. We are going to wait to see what the weather is that day. We also are renting electric bikes which we own at home and are very familiar with. I'll share everything this week.
  22. we were there last December when it was very different time then now. Best bet is to go on the Grenada forum and ask.
  23. Husband just left our bag with the passports in the rental car shuttle to the fort Lauderdale port. We did get them back.
