  1. yes. I met someone who did this on my Adventure sailing. And I had this option on my bids as well.
  2. I used to see a lot of fellow nj people in Cancun, Florida, Myrtle Beach... We spent a cruise hanging with my older daughter's teacher and family one time. It's definitely NJ holiday time!
  3. The filter button is very helpful for the app. It can be confusing at first as most things are but once you get the hang of it, it's great. I do agree the menus are better as paper than the phones. Other than that, it is really easy to schedule and book once you get the hang of it. Also, GS can help if you are stuck with something like rescheduling a show...etc...
  4. In my area, it was a week. Lived here all my life as well.
  5. You get on much quicker if you have all completed on your phone. Witnessed it at Miami on the Symphony in February. We went right on once the bar code was scanned. Just showed our passports. We saw others who prefer paper and don't use their phones because they want to shut off world, struggling with their binders and folders. Need original card.
  6. on mine it is always the last set of numbers preceded by a hyphen. I have an android phone. Bottom line: Its the smaller group of numbers...
  7. Its completely up to you. You can use it to book shows or dinners the first day and then write it down somewhere utilizing the ship wifi for the royal app. You can look at the app each morning to see if anything is new or added. Or you can stick with the compass and phone, guest services, restaurant booking...etc... Royal makes it easy for everyone. Whatever you are comfortable with. For myself, I live and die with my phone and surface pro yet I do like to read the compass in bed at night out of habit.
  8. download a QR code reader or scanner on your phone from your app store. Open the app once downloaded on your phone. Open up your set sail pass on a tablet or a computer showing the bar code. Point the QR code reader on your phone at the bar code. There will be a bunch of numbers. The last set of numbers that follow the hyphen is your room.
  9. It was known as teacher's convention week and was usually the 1st week of November. Always right after Halloween. It has only been a couple of days in the past few years. Problem was the teachers were supposed to be at the conventions but many were posting on social media pictures of themselves on cruises, Disney, Cancun... family in tow, drinks in hand clearly NOT at a working convention. Plus the taxpayers of NJ were paying for them for this week. And a lot of the teachers stupidly would brag about their escapades on social media and would laugh about how they were getting paid. This led to the downfall. I know quite a few people who did this.
