  1. This year we have been on MSC Seashore YC and NCL Joy Haven and both their suite restaurants afforded us privacy. We wanted to book Apex but the pricing has kept us away....I didn't even think I'd have to be in a crowded suite restaurant environment.
  2. We were just on MSC's Seashore in the Yacht Club. There were so many bubbles in the hot tub that I couldn't keep my sunglasses dry. If I remember correctly, bubbles were also to be found on Celebrity's ships. So DH and I thought that Norwegian's hot tubs were broken.
  3. No, we tried that on Joy......no bubbles.๐Ÿ˜ฅ
  4. When we were on the Joy in the Haven we noticed that the hot tubs didn't have any bubbles. We thought, perhaps, they were broken. However, I've read in a few places that there aren't bubbles in some (all?) of the Norwegian hot tubs. Is this true? I'm used to being in a caldron. LOL
  5. Photos I've seen of Luminae on E-class seems to have the tables pretty close together. Is this the case?
  6. I have my opinion, but whether it's the correct one or not only the mods know. When I first joined Cruise Critic mentioning of travel agents was allowed. People would post their deals and post what travel agency they used and also their agent's name. They would also post what agency was not so good, also by name of agency and the agent's name. There was one, in particular, who would threaten law suits if someone said anything bad about them. Then, I heard, agencies would post fake glowing reports about themselves and also fake bad reports about their competitors. Whether this is true or not, I do not know. I do know when I first started cruising I got a lot of referrals of agents from this site and one I used for years after until she passed away.
  7. $600 last MSC YC cruise. I have looked at Celebrity Retreat. For that, with the same agency, it's $915 from the agency, plus what Celebrity is offering in OBC for Retreat (at the time it was $800). Didn't book, cause I felt X's pricing was still too high, but that should give you an idea. 7% to 10% is what I've been told is a pretty good deal and what you should expect. This is before taxes and port fees.
  8. Will be looking forward to your views. One or two bad reports are expected, but all I'm reading about the Retreat (Luminae especially) is concerning.
  9. I'm so sorry to read this. Rest in peace, Jan.
  10. I'd like new itineraries too. Lately, we've just stayed on board and enjoyed the ship. Compared to Celebrity, some of NCL's suite pricing looks pretty good .... not as good as MSC, but even they are getting up there.

I thought it was much nicer.
  12. I'm a little surprised considering the reported chair hogs and your not loving Luminae's menu.
  13. I'm probably the only one who doesn't know the difference between Configuration A vs. Configuration B. ๐Ÿค”
  14. Thanks, Georgia Peaches, I value your opinion. I was looking at some videos of the aft Haven penthouse suite and it does look fabulous. We like aft balconies and used to always do them in the past. Wonder why we stopped?๐Ÿ˜• The Observation Lounge is something we really like. In fact, I would not be looking at The Retreat on Celebrity if their Edge class had a lounge in front that was open to all. The Edge class is very expensive and I'm reading mixed (very) reviews of Luminae. I like a outdoor pool (so even though I complain about the kids in Joy's Haven pool I probably wouldn't have used it much, if at all)๐Ÿ˜€ DH liked the food on Norwegian .... its specialty restaurants and Haven. He especially likes how they do breakfast in the Haven and the suite breakfast restaurants on their smaller ships that don't have a Haven.. Prima seems to tick most of my boxes, but because I have read some really nice feedback on this thread I will consider Escape. If I do, I'll need help picking the right Aft suite.
  15. Looks like I'd be disappointed in my overall experience on Escape.
  16. Our only time in the Haven was on Joy last year. Considering Escape....(DH hates driving to Miami). How would our experience on Escape compare? How ilarge is the sundeck? How many hot tubs? I know Escape does not have an Explorer's lounge. We thought the one on Joy was outstanding! Anything to compare? Casino? The pool on Escape is also covered. When we were on Joy the pool was taken over by kids constantly. Is there an "adult only" pool option on Escape? Also looking at Prima. If only their prices come down just a bit.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  17. On NCL's new ship, Prima, the Haven has been located in the aft.
  18. So adults only on Deck 17 is not enforced. ๐Ÿคข
  19. What ships are these? Prima still has rooms in the Haven complex, don't they?
  20. I notice that on the Prima they have the pool outside (it looks beautiful, btw). However, is this pool, being on the sundeck, adults only? We were on Joy recently and never got to use the pool because of children in it .....all hours. I had enough of "Marco Polo" to last a lifetime.
  21. Enjoying reading your review so far!๐Ÿ‘ I knew the Muster Drill on MSC would be confusing and crowded and hectic, so I asked our butler where our Muster was so we could get there early. I explained that one of my knees doesn't like stairs and I was afraid I would be holding up the line, because I would be slow. He asked me if I required a wheelchair. NO! I stated, I'm not that bad just slow. "So don't go" he said. "Really?" said I. So we didn't go. Don't tell. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
