  1. Harters, when I see things like that I guess that it's an Eastern European accent and that isn't a compliment.
  2. This is a subject I want to be positive. That was my being sarcastic. Why would one's nationality be mentioned?
  3. I watched that show once and was very unimpressed. I used to be on a food site and we talked about how 'feeding the masses' was not going to make US 🙂 happy. I call it LCD - lowest common denominator food. Thanks P-L
  4. Would he have like it better if he were of a different nationality? BTW I could be wrong about this but I thought I read here that the new pizza oven is used at dinner not lunch. ?
  5. I LOVE United!!!!!!!!!!!!! And agree with you.
  6. Thanks. I'm curious. Did you have slices or a whole pizza? I understand the latter was quite better. Regardless we'd only have it once. As said what we make at home is so, so good.
  7. I can't remember. If we only get two res at the specialties per cruise/segment, can we do two at Toscano? I loathe watermelon 🙂 and now the sea bass (aka Patagonia tootthfish doesn't sound so wonderful either. Plus honestly, having lived in the West with a plethora of Asian cuisines, "fusion" is usually my first choice. Thanks for weighing in as usual.
  8. I appreciate posters like you. I'm pretty into food and I've never seen a restaurant that didn't have an occasional lower grade. I'll look forward to more. Thanks.
  9. I'm on a FB Nautica group since we're traveling on them the beginning of July '24. Someone recently commented that the ship is getting something done at this 'dry dock' in June. I asked if there were any rumors as to a pizza oven being installed. He said they ate with the CD and the upcoming CD and that it's definitely happening then and that they're very excited about it. Us also 🙂 We've started making killer pizza at home using a STEEL not STONE so will be interested in it. Just an fyi.
  10. And I agree. Plus searching isn't necessarily the easiest thing to do.
  11. You used lockdowns twice. 'Scuse my ignorance, I have not idea what that is.
  12. I know destinations are important to you (as I). Were any of these noteworthy?
  13. At the very least impolite. One's decision to be late is their own, right?
  14. As I've said before "horses sweat, men perspire and ladies glow." That's "ladies" not "women."
  15. I hope that's just the Vista. When we were on Marina a few years ago, we had more meals (B/L/D) there than any place else and loved every one.
  16. We sent our a single bag of laundry once. Just underwear and other rough things. I'm sure they were clean but they had a gray tinge to them. Every single thing I take when traveling can be worn three times easily. Lots of dark colors on top so stains don't kill it. And when we're back in our cabin/room, we change into "lounge wear" a pair of elastic waist pants and a loose top. Keeps the 'going out ' clothes peachy clean far longer.
  17. We had that also and canceled completely. Saint Petersburg was going to be it. In the past I understand that you can go by land but it's quite tedious.
  18. Nope. But I've done land trips in Turkey, Israel, SE Asia and lots of S. America. Oh, wait, here's a pic of my husband in his bunk on our Norwegian coastal cruise. And we were booked on it again, except for covid.
  19. Thanks SO much. We'll be on Nautica in July, loathe the sun and will love what you describe.
  20. I didn't realize that newspapers were copyrighted, rather that some papers block access. Good to know. I know the LA Times is just the worst.
  21. Yep. Maybe because they're not anywhere long enough to search out authentic things. Whereas most of our travel over the years has been DIY and escorted land tours. Here's one. A scarf that we bought for a few dollars outside a metro station in Rio de Janeiro.
  22. And they can change regularly. Furthermore I would NEVER take that kind of advice from an unknown, lay person. Fraught with potential problems. JMO
