  1. Thanks for this. All the perks are very enticing.
  2. We always go ashore I've been under the impression that a number of things are closed. No?
  3. I've long said if there's a problem and all you do is complain here or to your table mates, then you've accomplished. And if I got food that was cold when it shouldn't have been I would send it back.
  4. Rock climbing? If so, are you familiar with Dirt Bag Diaries?
  5. I don't know if this is allowed. I'm very casually looking at a SS cruise to Japan and China. 14 days for $6k pp. Upgrade to business class flights for $3349, economy included. Shore excursions include (with some exceptions). Anyway you get the point. And then I found this CC review which honestly blew my mind. Is there something I'm missing here. I ask sincerely. Big fan of O but it seems they've slipped a bit. "I agree with all . I was on the Silver Shadow in Recife Brazil March 2020. We were stranded there due to COVID . Silversea was nothing less than awesome . The captain sent us champagne at least twice . Silversea chartered a plane and flew us to Dallas Texas . Governor Abbott gave us permission to come there . We arrived in Dallas at around 11:00pm and Silversea had a wonderful buffet set up in a big room they leased ..they had it all ..and we then boarded buses to the Hyatt to shower and rest in our rooms for about 5 or 6 hours . We left early morning back to the airport and they had a big buffet breakfast for us . We were then flown home by different lear jets and driven right to our front doors . AND before I left Brazil they moved me to a a Silver Suite and I was very stunned. I told Mark Conroy in Dallas that I had a motto ..." If it ain't Silversea it ain't for me " I got a note from him and also Barbara Muckermann ...Go for it and never look back !! They go above and beyond for their passengers ! 🙂"
  6. Excellent points. And at least where we are "grass fed" animals are generally done by local farmers and cost WAY more than commercial. I've had steak that didn't taste like much of anything. And I've had lamb that could have just as easily been been. But that's what some want.
  7. Yeah. I think they usually bring their boots and rent the rest.
  8. She's going to Norway in March for a ski trip so might be good info. No need for a tent though on this trip.
  9. "Quick to criticize, slow to praise."
  10. I'm sincerely confused. If you "rarely if ever" get off the ship then why do you care if you're in a port or not. Not being snotty, I promise.
  11. Thank you SO much. I'll be sharing this with our daughter. The whole family are avid skier and just plain outdoors people. PS: Love your "name."
  12. INTERESTING 🙂 Well, not really 🙂
  13. We had one of those but not a cruise. (Well), a part was a Hurtigruten cruise. Then I had to cancel it all. Fourteen different pieces. Sigh.
  14. Oh, I was saying that *I* wasn't being snotty towards you. Just thought that phrase could be tweaked. You're great.
  15. LOL. I've been known to do that myself.
  16. Oh I think what we cook is better but in a ten day period we're not likely to cover all that a restaurant like this does.
  17. I have to remind myself that the selection is generally better than we're going to cook at home.
  18. Did you mean to write the way you did after the "but"? Maybe like "you can't then smuggle etc."? Not being snotty. One other thing we've done a couple of times was to take the bottle of wine we ordered back to our cabin to have later or the next day. They didn't have a problem with that.
  19. We're doing a B2B so maybe after the first segment I should listen for that ding and be happy 🙂
