  1. I've never had a bad cruise, there is always something I enjoy, my family enjoys, etc. I may like a ship more or less, and decide not to cruise on it again, etc, I have even cruised on what some consider the "worst" ship in the fleet because it was a home port and loved every one of my cruises and the cruise staff. Perhaps I'm just easy to please. I may look at reviews, but they will not keep me from booking an itinerary I want to do. Then I make my own decision for myself. 🙂 But that's just me
  2. Go to the Level site directly. it's not always the cheapest option, but it's nice to have the nonstop flights from the West Coast! I always google Level airlines and it comes up as the first hit.
  3. Yum, I like that coffee much better than Starbucks (which I don't like).
  4. I travel for work, sometimes the airlines make really short connections. The cost to put you on the next flight is worth the potential miss on the connection. Sometimes they make it and others they don't.
  5. Count me in as a believer in going early, especially with a short connection. I don't know what happens in immigration in Canada, it hasn't been a layover for me, but when I travel to Europe, I always give myself at least two+ hours in Paris or Amsterdam on a layover. There are tighter connections, but they may not get you home that day.
  6. I don't really care either way, show up to muster/e muster. I always take it as a reminder of what to do and where to go. I guess, it may be more practice for the crew than it is for us, and if the crew needs practice, well, it's probably better to do a show up at muster instead of on the TV.
  7. Thanks for posting on your cruise!! I would love this itinerary! Enjoy your cruise!
  8. I'll give Ember a try towards the end of the cruise (when I reserved it), but if something looks better elsewhere (GDR) then I will cancel.
  9. What if there aren't porters? I guess we could just carry on our bags, if that's the only important paperwork one gets before the cruise. I'm so used to printing my own tags that I didn't even think of this!
  10. Do you actually receive documents in the mail before a cruise? What happens if you don't receive them? Going on our first O cruise in May.
  11. No, I meant what I said 😀 be it one way or round trip. PRE cruise is good, Post cruise NEVER good, for us of course, to each his own. This is why the direction/itinerary matters to us. For example, Alaska is amazing but will only cruise if the cruise originates in Alaska, otherwise we won’t go and I would never do a RT, you don’t see enough. We would do a cruise out of miami again, maybe, for Panama Canal and end in SF
  12. 😆 I think DH feels that way after any vacation. We never plan anything post vacation, as we are always ready to go home no matter how long or short a cruise is. The times we have planned something after we did not enjoy it as much as we would have pre cruise.
  13. Depending on the time of year, flights from the west coast can change. There are non stops during tourist season to one to two stops throughout the year. I personally like the flights that arrive BCN in the morning but usually need a 2 hour nap midday. I have found if I arrive around 4-5 in the afternoon it’s easier to stay up and adjust to the time change. I never have jet lag with that later arrival flight. I would want to book my own flights to control connection and airlines.
  14. Thanks! I usually do give all bags to the porters but I thought at international ports (Rome) they didn’t have them. It’s our first O cruise and cruise out of Rome. Thought we had to carry on bags.
  15. Never been on Celebrity 🤷🏻‍♀️ I like that the O buffet has servers but still not something I necessarily would enjoy. Food gets cold quickly and finding a table after your food… I think I’ll survive
  16. Haha!! Sure, but I’ve observed some self serve buffets and been mortified by people. Enough times that I just can’t
  17. Oh thank goodness!! Ok, this is fabulous news
  18. Big breakfast required… I don’t like buffets. I don’t like people who lick their hands and keep touching food/serving utensils etc, or cough into food…. Not for me
  19. Is there no main dining room lunch on embarkation day?
  20. HAHA, I totally would have tried it!!
  21. We have always done the same, especially on our 15 day cruises out of San Francisco. We even bought a 12 bottle wheelie bag from Amazon to make it easier to carry on. You can't check it or anything, its not bundled enough, but it works to walk on! Can't say we travel with wine, but in a USA port we usually find somewhere to buy a few bottles. Internationally.... hadn't thought about it, but why not?
