  1. For those of you struggling with the medallion. Try going through the web link but don't try to "link" your booking. Just look it up via name and booking. That works. When you click on "Try our web version", click the "cancel" button when the screen opens up. Then click on "Use Booking Number" and enter the details there. "Log in with Booking Number" That has worked for me, thanks to @Steelers36 for pointing me in the right direction the other day.
  2. What about asking for fresh lime juice instead of the premixed stuff? A busy bar may not be able to do it all the time, but maybe a slower bar. Finding a good bartender is key on a cruise 🙂 I've cruised with a diabetic (met her on the cruise) who was able to do that, and the bartender she found was always happy to use fresh lime juice in her margaritas.
  3. We ended our cruise in Trieste and took a cruise transfer to the Venice airport. There is a train that I briefly considered. Private transportation seems really expensive. You could try your roll call to see if you can join a group for a transfer to the port.
  4. Thank you @BlerkOne, You've talked me into Specialty dining the first night. lol 🙂
  5. Yeah, as long as I'm on the same wifi as my printer, I can print from my phone, but I'm still too far out for our next cruise on Princess.
  6. Has anyone with Sun Princess bookings been able to book dining? Just wondering if the problem is it's a new ship and dining is not yet set up. I don't want to miss out and my chat was a joke.
  7. I hope it prints correctly! lol. In the past I have had issues depending on the browser used.
  8. Been going to specialty dining since my kids were very young. I had forgotten that they did pay half price for a while! That was a great deal, because we often went to specialty dining!! At 13, the child will pay full price. If your child is a picky eater, maybe have them eat at the buffet (you can go with them) and book specialty dining when the child can go to the kids club? Just a thought. That's a great idea about contacting the restaurant beforehand, but if there are three people there, they will charge you for three.
  9. Yeah, I tried both. I too laughed. I will see what happens. My patience will run out eventually 🙂
  10. @Steelers36, I contacted Princess... 🙂 Patience is a virtue I clearly don't have (not towards you, but towards trying to book DMW and my difficulties doing that). Figured I'd share my update here. There is currently a problem that the IT department is aware of and since my sailing is next summer they aren't worried about it. No ETA, and keep trying. 🙂 This is what I got through chat. Upon checking, there's a system issue at the moment with the Medallion app. Rest assured that our IT department is already trying to fix this and update the app. Since your sailing date is still next year, would it be possible to check from time to time if you can already book your dining reservations? At the moment, there's no update regarding the timeframe, but hopefully it will be resolved in no time.
  11. Thank you, I keep forgetting there is the web version now. Is the ability to make reservations for dining as soon as the deposit is made for Platinum, Elite, or in a Reserve class cabin regardless of how far off the cruise is (next summer) or does it have to be "x" days away. If so, how many days? The web version won't let me in, booking has already been claimed (by me on the app, lol. I'm up for calling Princess, but don't want to call if they need the cruise to be 100 days out or something like that. It would be a long distance call for me currently. Thank you,
  12. I did through my TA but still don’t see it on my account. She could not do it through the portal, she had to call. I did receive an automated email from Oceania that it’s been booked but no details about cabin, etc.,
  13. Wholey moley! The arrival time has gone away! 😅 I have been away from Princess for too long! lol How is there not chaos at the ports? The medallion makes that big of a difference? I love embarkation lunch in the MDR. How can that still happen if everyone can board in time to go? Crazy. I guess it's time to take another cruise and find out. lol
  14. Ah, interesting, I was having that problem as well with pricing not available over the weekend. I thought it was the use of a VPN. I got off it and it was back to showing me pricing. Good to know I'm not the only one with the issue. I don't like to have to call a TA either for pricing because they won't have the patience for my requests. I spend HOURS researching everything, different ships, cabins, I put it all on a spreadsheet and compare pricing and amenities. Then break it down to what I want quoted. I like to know pricing before I book so I make an education choice, for me, on our next cruise. I know there has been lots of frustration with Princess loyal folks, for myself included. I think for my family, we won't "never sail Princess again", but have moved on to exploring best options for itineraries we want to do. Princess will no longer be our first stop and book. It's probably better for us this way anyway. Home port sailing will still win out for us for most cruises, but we now have more than Princess to research prior to booking, more "work" required finding the best options. We have branched out, have one cruise booked with Princess and looking to book another cruise soon.
  15. I was really looking forward to looking into all that's new with Allura. Patiently waiting....
  16. Thanks!! I look forward to it 🙂
  17. Anyone know if the August 23rd date is still looking good for new bookings on Allura? I just haven't seen email or advertising on this.
  18. This is what we ended up doing in May. I briefly considered the train but then decided it was less stress to book the O shuttle to the airport. The problem was we wait.... an hour or so for stragglers who didn't disembark when they were supposed to. Two couples got on while we were waiting, but we eventually left without everyone. Wish people would respect times.....
  19. UGH!! Reading through this thread has been painful and eye opening. I am further saddened by what Princess is doing. I don't like the nickel and diming- AT ALL. In all fairness, we usually get a drink package, but we always consider NOT getting one. As we traditionally travel with the kids, our cruises have been 10-15 days, but we will soon be going on longer cruises, and hearing this just makes me want to jump ship. The drink package for long cruises is not worth the money, to us. Since the restart of cruising all I've heard is negative comments about how the food on Princess has declined. Prior to Covid, we had experienced the food decline ourselves, so hearing that it's worse was cause for concern. For the first time ever, I cancelled cruises we had booked (with FCD's) on Princess. I finally put them all on a booking for the Sun Princess next year, but the more I hear, the more I feel like canceling that too. Loyalty doesn't matter to Princess, you don't get discounts that are worth anything, and with the way things seem to be going, I'm not sure if I should make that Sun Princess cruise our last chance for Princess or just switch over to Oceania, who we have cruised since the restart of cruising and loved it. I'd rather pay more and get more up front, as opposed to paying slightly less, and getting a subpar experience. So we take less cruises, that's OK. One family leaving Princess doesn't matter to them, and it hurts because we've been so loyal for so many years.
  20. I happen to be on board on Vista right now and had to get Euros from reception because casino ATM only gives USD and we needed euros for an excursion. The euros we purchased were added to the on board charge account, I confirmed there is NO cash advance fee from credit card, and the balance will be settled to credit card as if it was an onboard purchase. O charges a fee but it’s far cheaper than using a ATM on shore. Just wanted to share our experience.
  21. oce_oceaniaclub.pdf They send this to us about benefits of booking on board
  22. I appreciate the heads up. I too am disappointed that you can't pay the up charge with the drink package. That's annoying, but better to know up front.
  23. We always like fresh flowers in the room. However, having to pay that much for flowers and a wine I don't need, is not something I'd want to do. I can live without the flowers too.
  24. Our first cruise to Alaska was LONG ago and in an interior cabin. It was fine. We spent a lot of time out of the cabin. Since those days, we prefer at least a balcony, but if my dates were set I wouldn’t rule out an interior cabin. If that’s the cruise you want to go on, book it and then be very active with available cabins in the category you want. Check often and hold immediately if you see something. you should be able to find someone who cancels or bid? Or enjoy the cheaper cruise in interior and spend your time outside the cabin?
