As mentioned, always indicate "No Upgrade" to Princess or your Travel Agent if you have one. Might you be also able to obtain a Doctor's order, specifying the need for mid ship?

I understand that crew members transfer about. I am glad that you did not have a grumpy crew on the Emerald. We were "yelled" at by a crew member on the Emerald; this was the very first time. Crew was cranky. The bartender on the Grand (4 months later), told us that there are morale issues on the Emerald and he had recently transferred to the Grand. When on the Grand, the morale and atmosphere was much more upbeat. That was our experience.

I understand your points. I liken a Princess logo Reidel glass to a logo coffee mug which people seem to enjoy purchasing. And yes, absolutely a bit of a challenge to get home.

You are so very right. The charges can be reversed onboard which seems like a waste of everyone's time.

DH, myself and family members all love salmon. I am a WFPB Vegan and allow myself salmon. We are also all from the Northwest. @Flo71 At least there are probably many other protein items on the menu that you enjoy.

Unfortunately, it will be wherever smokers want to be. Princess has not been enforcing the designated smoking areas. This has been a major disappointment and issue with Princess

This is so true... Even though it is very illogical! Some have said that if you make reservations and they are charged on your CC, that once onboard, those charges can be reversed and be deducted from your OBC.

Yes. This is one of the things that OBC can be used for before boarding. It will be deducted from your OBC. OTOH, specialty dining venues may not be booked using OBC before boarding. There is no logic in this.

The wine glasses you speak of and covet are Reidel wine glasses. YES, it is a THING! I had the pleasure of working in a wonderful Italian restaurant and our owner treated us to a wine tasting seminar where we learned about the difference in "lipped" or Libby type wine glasses versus "non-lipped" Reidel wine glasses. And yes, there is a major difference! We were actually hunted down by the Vines guy because we wanted to take our wine to the dining room! Seriously, we were not stealing them... I have my own at home but there was NO WAY in you know what, that he would allow it. We are even willing to put a deposit on them in our shipboard account..... But no. Luggage does not really allow a place for decent wine glasses. Do you realize what a fortune that Princess could make by selling Princess logo Reidel wine glasses on board??????? Truly, this is a no brainer.

We really enjoyed this itinerary in January 2018. It was hot and humid then so I hope you two will be ok. We are from Washington State (and are a half mile from the ocean), so I hope the heat and humidity will be gentle to both of you. Enjoy and thanks for sharing.

Because these are sister ships, the next thing to consider is the atmosphere and the crew. We loved our time on the Crown Princess with a real Skywalker's. That was in 2013. The Emerald in May 2022, was lacking in an upbeat classic friendly crew. Maybe that has improved.

We did the Busy Bus into Wales and really enjoyed it.

My sister and BIL were able to sit with us in the Platinum/ Elite lounge and board with us. It was not an issue.
